I enjoyed Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart but the game was really buggy for an SIE game, something I've seen happening more and more.

One of the former employees said that the game should have come out a year earlier, which is interesting since this was a PS5 launch title. Wonder if it was a PS4 game and they shifted development to PS5, but then made it a PS5 exclusive... doesn't make a ton of sense given the other games that were cross-platform.

There are always multiple sides to a story, but from her statements alone she seems not well. As does the other former employee that was defending her.

And with missing elements of the real story, I'm going to fill in the gaps with the elements we see.

These people are overly emotional and irrational and at times inappropriate. R&C Rift Apart was not a very memorable game and the writing was probably one of the worst aspects of the game. Rivet is not a very well written character and the decision to have her have the exact gameplay mechanics as Ratchet begged the question as to why have both of them in the game. The best games with multiplayer main characters differentiate between those main characters to give a reason to have interest in either character.

In Castlevania SOTN you can play the game as Richter after beating it. This gives incentive to replay the game.

Metal Gear Solid was a short game, but you could play the game again with the invisibility suit or the bandana.

It was ultimately lazy to give them the same play style and mechanics.

Sometimes that doesn't work out. Look at Spider-Man 1. Playing as Miles and MJ sucked. I can imagine though in Spider-Man 2 it'll be interesting playing as either Spider-Man if they balance things right.

So, she's literally crying on twitter for not getting enough attention. Does everyone on twitter have some sort of attention seeking complex.
Nope. But it's sure a tech sector thing to do. Gaming is probably the worst of them all. Manchildren.

There's probably 100x more people working at banks, or blue collar guys fixing roads and building new homes and apartments.

How often do you see them complain they didn't get their way in a meeting?

WE all thought Ratchetwas putting his wrench in her socket!

Was the op bragging about it? Ok if that empowers her then go for it.

Not the impression I got in the least bit playing the game. I was more under the impression that Ratchet and Rivet were quite taken by each other. This sounds more to me like it was her own canon that wasn't accepted by the team. You know, something she stresses but then simultaneously seems to make the issue about her.
Yeah even my kids picked up that both totally had a crush. Just plain bad writing then.

They are gay characters in games like 13 Sentinels but I dont ever see George Kamitani making big deal out of it in social media.

Which defeats entire purpose of "equality" when these devs acting as having gay character in games is suppose to be "special".

Sam Maggs comes off as some kind of liberal Fanatic.

Sounds like she was trying to put her ideology into the game. Thank god they didn't give her the majority of power. We may have had another bust like the female version of Ghost busters.
She'll do anything to boost her politics and sales. Check her Twitter. This is her first pinned tweet was from a few years ago.

I'd be embarrassed grifting like this. But for some people, they'll do anything for a buck.

I feel bad for the actual talented people who made the game great having to bite their tongue and not talk about what it was like having to work with someone who has more screws loose than clank.

When I quit a company it’s pretty normal they stop name dropping me, what sort of attention whore gets upset over shit like this. How dare they not state the one thing I did in my 18 months that wasn’t a complete waste of everyone’s time and attention, and even that one thing sounds like it was a team effort, but she was leading the team, despite the guy who did the interview clearing being the lead…

What I gather from her Tweets is that she no longer works at Insomniac, and there's some other They/them dude in her feed saying "they" left because of what they (Insomniac) did with to this person. And then there's the other dude from a few months back who was very proud that he quit and screamed at his superiors because they were making Rivet too sexy or something.

So in short what I gather from all of this is that since launching the latest Ratchet Insomniac had some VERY positive changes to their workforce.
