Edit: I think Insomniac does probably have a problem with having a very male-dominated senior leadership team, which will give the impression of not promoting or valuing women, but they have to be the right women. Sam Maggs just isn't that. She is a lunatic and so are her friends.

Stuff like this is why I always take gaming media hit pieces on "toxic" work culture with a giant grain of salt. Too many deranged woke people in gaming and you just know people like this Sam Maggs are exactly the profile of person that Polygon or Kotaku will look for an interview.
You could take her, that Xavier dude and probably a couple of other ex employees and make an article about anonymous ex employees describing Insomniac as a toxic sexist hellhole .

It's true. And this isn't as gendered as she claims, people on top often claim credit for the whole of a projects creative vision, even when those ideas came from others on the team. Watch every movie director talk about "their" characters even when someone else wrote them.
I'm not saying it's right, but speaking out about it bad for your career. I have a buddy who worked with a big director on a movie, nominated for an Oscar, all of that. Shit talked the director (very beloved director with decades of classics under his belt) for this sort of thing, and he hasn't had a major screenplay produced since.

Yeah, i mean look how IGN reacted, they basically gave this chick an entire paragraph and kept Dave Kim (the lead character artists for the series for over 20 years who came up with not only Rivets name but Ratchet himself) as a footnote in that article.
Like, this is games journalism. Her research is checking for updates on the twitter thread, no actual sources or research to make sure her facts are straight at all, not even a phone call.

A lot more women are getting into gaming and the game industry, which is great, but it also means that many are newcomers and lower on the totem pole.
Gaming is a collaborative job and a collaborative industry, but like most jobs and industries, they still have hierarchies.
You can't join a studio for a year or two and then flip out when your opinions get overshadowed by someone who has been there for 10+ years. You just got here. Try actually building your cache at a studio rather than jumping around.
And I get it, if you don't feel valued or respected at a job and you think you can find a better job, that's great too. I just got a new job after 4 years at a shitty job where I wasn't respected. I'm going to make nearly double what I made before, but I also know that I'm starting at 0 to a degree, but many in my management chain have only been there for a year or two.
Edit I think many see themselves as equals professionally with people who have seniority over them and that's a serious issue.

I've never seen the concept art for Rivet until you posted them. I think it's quite a sad thing to see the direction the industry headed. It's even more saddening the way these people are applauded, defended and put on such a high pedestal.
