A new Star Wars game is in development at Skydance New Media, the interactive studio founded in 2019 by game director Amy Hennig, Lucasfilm Games and Skydance announced Tuesday. It’s a return to the Star Wars franchise for Hennig, who had previously worked with the franchise at EA’s Visceral Games on an ambitious (but ultimately canceled) project set in a galaxy far, far away.

Skydance New Media describes its untitled Star Wars project as a “richly cinematic action-adventure game featuring an original story,” but did not reveal specifics. No title, release date, or platforms were announced.

“I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly,” Hennig said in a news release. “I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love.”

Great news. Looking forward to see this game.

Wasn’t she making a Star Wars game under EA that was scrapped?
Yes. As far as I remember, it was when EA got crazy with MP/GaaS/microtransactions, so I assume they killed it because this project didn't fit there.

Who knows, maybe Disney liked it and wanted to continue it outside EA anyways.

Both good and bad news. Do they even have enough people in the company to make a AAA Marvel AND Star Wars game? AFAIK it's still a nascent company, so not sure they have the personnel to pull off both and have both be quality.

To be fair to forspoken it at least sounds like they are taking feedback seriously prior to release, and although what I saw didn't look good at all if Amy is on board I will switch from a write off to a wait and see approach. But the reveal really didn't look good.

She was behind Legacy of Rain and Uncharted. You can't discount her. Looking forward to whatever she is working on next and didn't she have something to do with the Star Was Jedi game?

Just let Respawn handle it, she almost wrecked Uncharted 4 and her Star Wars game was cancelled after being in development for 4 years
