It looks like Gotham Knights co-op is expanding to 4 players

PlayStation may have leaked the reveal of Gotham Knights co-op expanding to feature four players at once...

According to the recently updated Gotham Knights’ PSN store page (via Reddit), the game offers support for up to “4 network players” at once. The description still states that Gotham Knights can be experienced “in solo-play or with one other hero”. If both are accurate, then WB Montreal could be adding a separate mode with four-player support outside the main open-world game.

I'm super excited for this game, it's my most anticipated one, hopefully it's good. I know a lot of people like to be negative about it just because it's not Rocksteady (or because it's not batman but I don't understand this reasoning, we already had plenty of batman games), but I was really hoping for a game like this since playing all the different characters in Arkham Knight.

Makes a lot more sense, the 4 characters and 2 players concept was always a little weird. Game looks like a mess though from what I’ve seen and heard, doesn’t seem to know what it wants to be.

I'm really hoping this whole thing about Bruce being dead is just a red herring, I can't imagine introducing the court of owls storyline without Batman. He probably faked his own dead so he could try and infiltrate the group, especially as it's sold as a gigantic conspiracy in the comics.

The concept for game is nice though. It makes coop alot easier, since you can get in to the game faster, with other characters.
Much better than the current coop design that we have.
As for the mess, it's just covid messing up their plan.

Wait... has his powers changed from making grown men feel uncomfortable by showing up in a bright red, green and yellow shirt and shorts and then hitting them with stick until they fall over?
He has teleportation and invisibility powers now. That alone would make you forgot the embarrassing clothes.

As someone expecting/wanting a single player campaign, I have serious doubts, are they trying to make a live service experience?
Looking at Rocksteady's twitter account also makes me fear the story will be pure distilled current day cringe. Just like the actual comics nowadays.

God damn it Robin, instead of using a damn cloaking field just wear Black instead of bright red. Also teleporting? im afraid to ask is this a new thing in the comics?

he will always be this in my head.

I mean now someone will be forced to play as Robin, that's not going to be a great experience.
He does have just the worst design in this game too. I mean, it's not Burt Ward bad, but then, this isn't the 60s. Burt Ward was just wearing the average basketball player's uniform plus a domino mask. At least his costume didn't have front-tails.

I think the teleportation is from the tower of justice league.
Also that Robin is night wing. The current Robin is Tim.

I just hope the game scales well to different party sizes.
I actually liked the 2 player co-op because realistically that's how I'll play it and it feels like aside from It Takes Two it has been a while since we had a big Co-op game fine tuned for 2 players. I hope it doesn't feel like, say, Left 4 Dead or something like that which is playable with 2 people but doesn't quite feel like the true intended experience.

So it’s like the avengers bulllshit?

Supposedly it's not going to be a live service (though I'm still not sold on that promise) and of course there's a whole campaign and story to play through.
So in theory this should feel more as if you could play through the story mode of Avengers in Co-op instead of just the repetitive end game.

Not that shit.
Rocksteady have good gameplay.

I really want this to be a good game, I just hope it isn't that lol. I'm not into GaaS games really all that much. I'd love to see a story set in the batman universe that lets other characters get some good screen time/burn. Just please dont be gaas lol

I keep mixing them. The game style is that of rocksteady.
I forgot they are doing the suicide squad.

I need to keep up my info with those devs.

The moment they showed that regular goons have levels attached to them i knew this game would play nothing like Arkham games at its core. Just compare the Mr Freeze boss battle from the old Arkham game to the Freeze boss battle they showed of this game. Enemies are now level based health bar damage sponges to facilitate co-op.

Aside of the level system, the atmosphere is like the arkham games.
If they do this right, then they have a good foundation for their future live service games.

If I can't play it solo then I won't play it.
You probably can but it will most likely be as fun as playing other similar co op games alone, which is usually dull as hell since the friendly AI is either useless or the missions are just not originally designed to be played alone.

More excited for the Suicode Squad game where they fight the Justice League. That'll be cool...each boss if Batman, Green Lantern, Supes. Rocksteady doing it coukd be fantastic (and I don't even like the Suicide Squad).

This Gotham Knights game has me snoozing.

I was among those thinking it was always 4-player co-op. Either way, I hope it turns out good.

uses 'M$' - What year is it? Not 2002.

I doubt you will fight Batman because that takes place after arkham knight

It's a fucking GaaS the game devs are trying to say it's NOT a GaaS but it has the exact same systems as a Gaas, shitty multiple currencies, spongey AF bosses.

With this addition of 4 player co-op it's looking like an Anthem.

A shame too because the developers have already shown with Arkham Origins that they are capable of making a quality single player Batman experience.

Not sold on this game yet.
Yeah, honestly I don't know how they settled on this over the original idea for Batman Beyond.

EDIT: Because this is by WB Montreal, not Rocksteady who are making the Suicide Squad game.
