VGC: Konami’s Silent Hill plans could include a remake, full sequel and episodic stories

Now that Konami likes to lend its licenses, it would be interesting to do a project where it will collaborate with various studios.

It would be very interesting if each Silent Hill story would be developed with a different company.

Example.

1. The story of a doctor who goes in search of his lover who is a hospital nurse in Silent hill, will he find her? Episode directed by Konami

2. The story of a young man who runs away from home due to violence, in search of a new life he enters Silent hill, what secrets will he have in his past? Directed by Asobo Studios.

3. The story of a reporter who has heard myths and rumors about a cursed town where people disappear, what mysteries are hidden? Episode directed by Capcom.

4. The police have received the suspicion of a serial killer who has hidden in a ghost town called Silent hill, believed to be a place where people disappear, will the crime be discovered? Directed by Sony

5. A Man wakes up in his house, everything is normal, until he discovers that it is the same day and time, the loop does not change... What is happening in the house? Directed by Kojima Productions.

So basically Konami went radio silent (SEE WUAT EYE DEED THEAR!!?!?!) with the IP and now they're putting three games.

God, I hope they do the same with Castlevania ...
A Castlevania by Platinum Games might be

God, I hope this is real and not some Dusk Golem network of """insiders,"""" playing 4D chess to get another million to subscribe to Gamepass because muh konsoul worz. There's a lot of smoke, so I'm hoping there's a fire somewhere, but it seems too good coming from Ko-pachinko-nami to ignore the franchise for like a decade and then

YEAH BOY SILENT HILL REMAKE
NEW SILENT HILL
KOJIMA SILENT HILL
EVERYONE IN THE AUDIENCE LOOK UNDER YOUR CHAIRS
YOU GET A SILENT HILL, AND YOU GET A SILENT HILL, AND

But honestly, the biggest clue that this is real comes from TGA of all places, for me. There's no way that Keighley brought Del Toro in, talking about Kojima, had him say "YEAH MAN, THEY CANCELED KOJIMA'S SILENT HILL, WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?!" wink at the camera.

Keighley is so far up Kojima's ass that he can draw Shinkawa style artwork of the man's intestines, so I doubt he was just rubbing salt in the wounds of a bunch of people. I hope. Maybe. Keighley is kind of ass, actually. Better than Grubb. Grubb is about equal to Schreier. Anyway, #TeamReal

What, this isn't about Hasan. Whatever. I'm sorry, my face is tired.

Let's just say Kojima's next game is a Silent Hill. Gotta be Silent Hills so.

That demo had $ all over it. From a business prospective it would make sense for Konami and Kojima to patch things up and make it. Seemingly both Kojima and Norman Reedus like working with each other and Guillermo del Toro was originally slated to co make it with, and who also has a working relationship, with Kojima. All the components are there.

I want the episodic Silent hill like this TV show.

Someone tell the story of a person who goes into Silent hill.

Even though they are short stories, they would have a very different ending or an environment that is too different from the everyday.

A classic. I started re-watching that a few months back and stopped on season 2 (I'm re-watching a lot of old 80's and 90's stuff for nostalgia funs and art direction stuff)

I don't know if Konami would even ok something that good tbh. I love the idea of it being static and simply being a different tale every time, but when the mean episodic, 99.9% they mean 1 story.....told in parts.

Anthology stuff is rare now days outside of Twilight Zone reboot and Black Mirror. We all know Konami will find a way to fuck it up.

They forgot Silent Hill GAAS, Silent Hill MMO, Silent Hill pachinko and Silent Hill mobile. Gotta catch em all.

What are the episodic success stories, Only LifeStrange comes to mind, everything else drowned.

Each couple of months a new AAA 6 hour horror game episode sounds amazing to me. But it means Konami have to pump the innovation gear high to make these must get stories, and I am not sure they will. Make one game that is exploitable rather than use and throw games is more their style.

Good episodes means they can be bought every halloween but doubt Konami will have that patience.

They should just name it EldenVania and call it a day.

On a serious note it would be weird to have a Castlevania made by From, the Souls atmosphere doesn't suit Castlevania well.
Though it would be less worse than outsourcing it to western companies.
Mmm I have seen Elden Ring Belmont builds and honestly it kinda looks what Castlevania should have been in 3D (more so than the 3d Castlevanias)

Bloodborne is literally FROM's take on Castlevania.

Someone remind me why people think Kojima and Konami will work together again?

Because its Sony who is funding the project so there is no direct relation with Kojima?

Kojima works for Sony as a subcontractor but the business in between Sony and Konami.

This is speculations of course based on the rumors.

Combat-wise maybe, with some tweaks here and there.
But the way From Software usually tells their stories and design their games would be kinda weird for a Castlevania game.

Oh come on. We all know it's their take on Nightmare Creatures.
Yeah of course there are more differences than similarities but one can dream 😭

Sigh.

I'd rather just have one really good Silent Hill game that gets the maximum attention, focus, budget and time put into it, by a publisher that wants a properly thought out and unique experience.

But hey,

Especially after the death stranding 2 leak. Where does a kojima silent hill fit in now? Those rumours always seemed too good to be true.

Unless he's mostly been sitting on his ass for the last 2 years we'll see something else from him. Whether that's Silent Hill or not 🤷‍♂️

Not exactly working together but I could see this being a way around it. A publisher could get the license and then hire another studio to make the game. Unless there’s something in the deal that specifically states that Kojima can’t make the game it can happen.

I seen rumours that the people supposedly working on this reboot could be at Tokyo Game Show. So please, God. Let us see something next month at long last, for all that is holy.

The hearsay has gotten just too much over the last few years.

We don't have long to wait. We have like, one more month to go.

One thing that people need to remember about events like Tokyo Game Show, is the time they are aired live, and when international fans will tune in. So due to the time the presentations air, they cannot show footage from any violent games in a strictly PG timeslot. This is something I realized after waiting last year. :(

The thing is, I get why people hype themselves up and get excited regardless. But to be honest, if anything about Silent Hill would be shown off at any such event, this would probably occur at something like a Sony State of Play showcase, or better still, be kept for a surprise reveal during the 2022 Game Awards. :)
