Diablo Immortal allows players to buy "Boon Of Plenty" for £8:99 where players will receive login rewards for 30 days. However, if you fail to login each day you will lose the rewards for that day. So you must log in every day.

25:00

It will cost you around $50,000 to max out your character.

Thanks to strange headache strange headache for this.
  • Upgrading gear is only possible through shop items
  • Loot progression is tied to rifts which need to be enhanced through ingame currency
  • Drop chances are heavily gimped for non-paying players
  • It costs around $20 (1.600 eternal orbs) to get a 45% chance at having a 5-Star gem drop in a rift
  • Ingame currency packs are inconsistent with item shop prices, so you always end up paying more than you need
  • Multiple ingame currencies to obfuscate your expenses
  • Upgrading gear costs materials which are available through subscription passes

You need to login daily to receive the items that you paid for through your subscription
Pay 2 win, meaning that you get double the attack and health stats than a regular character
Game lures you in first, before nickel & diming you mid-game
Completing dungeons and fighting bosses does not give you rewards, instead you will get promotions for the ingame shop
etc...

Thanks I iQuasarLV

That's not right. Not saying it's good or whatever but you buy an add on that gives you a bonus for logging in each day. But if you don't login, you don't get the bonus?

Text version? I don't want to give them clicks nor watch a video.

The game employs every dirty trick to fleece your wallet:

  • Upgrading gear is only possible through shop items such as legendary gems
  • Loot progression is tied to rifts which need to be enhanced through ingame currency
  • Drop chances are heavily gimped for non-paying players
  • It costs around $20 (1.600 eternal orbs) to get a 45% chance at having a 5-Star gem drop in a rift

  • Multiple ingame currencies to obfuscate your expenses
  • Upgrading gear costs materials which are available through subscription passes

  • Game lures you in first, before nickel & diming you mid-game
  • Battlepasses seem like good value, but you'll still be an absolute scrub compared to customers investing in the item-shop
  • Completing dungeons and fighting bosses does not give you rewards, instead you will get promotions for the ingame shop
  • etc...

Thanks, I was on the fence about downloading this but now it can fuck off.

I don’t get the complaints about the login reward access though. How is this any different than buying a battle pass that gives you access to unlock 100 or whatever levels worth of cosmetics, premium currency, etc but you only make it to level 29 or something because you don’t put in the effort? You don’t magically gain access to those unlocks there either.

"Upgrading gear is only possible through shop items"

That's wrong. You salvage equipment to upgrade gear, which you basically find EVERYWHERE. It's probably possible to speed it up by paying for ingame currency (havent't bothered yet).

If we only talk about PVE, it's pay to win faster...seeing as you need to grind more to get the same amount of stuff. I never understood the whining, isn't most free to play titles like this? I enjoyed Genshin Impact and other titles without paying a dollar. If people want to waste money maxing their character in the fastest way possible, go ahead.....who gives a fuck. No one is forcing you to pay.

Imagine getting your dream job at a highly regarded company, only to end up being part of a team that just runs it into the ground like this. Fuck me.
I never looked at it that way. I'd be really pissed off if that happened to me

What stupid thread... Every game that has log in daily bonus when you don't log in one day you lose that bonus. And you need 50000 to unlock all... Who forces you to buy them, it's a mobile game you play and enjoy it and if you buy something you just buy it. It's a PVE game if you do 300 damage with in game items and you do 500 with bought does it make a difference? There are the same kind copy paste shit Tier Videos for every gatcha games and everyone pretend to be surprised.

So far, I'm not seeing any pay to win mechanics. (That being said, I'll probably never touch the store)

Maybe pay to skip through the game quicker (but not sure why you'd do that, unless you're not enjoying it)

From the couple hours I've played so far, it seems decent for a mobile game. (To my surprise)

Maybe my opinion will change with more time, but I'll wait and see before having a knee jerk reaction

do not tempt fate do not contrain Wonder Woman's thighs do not do not
It should been expected.
It shouldn't been tolerated.
Preaching to the choir my man.
I dont pay for shit in these games.....but im so in the minority it doesnt really matter.
As long as the casuals keep spending billions of dollars in these games we fighting a losing battle.
Hell id argue games that are more pay2win end up actually attracting the biggest whales.
Its a sad state of affairs but the peasants keep paying so the devs keep making.
Their reputation is destroyed.
And now it's his problem.
Reputation destroyed?
Maybe with the vocal minority.....the general population are gonna be throwing money at this game left right and center.....so now its his balance sheet.
Watch the MS earnings for 2023 be massively increased mostly due to mobile gaming and services.
We the core gamers might hate it......but this is the world we live in now.
It sucks but until the "casuals" really catch up, mobile first games will almost always be money pits.

Slightly off topic:
I was shocked to find out COD: Mobile makes so much money....ive been playing the game for years and havent never spent a dollar, I legit dont even know what people are spending money on.

My thoughts exactly. It's like people expect to get all the stuff for free instantly, in a free to play game. You can pay for convenience, so what. Have at it if you're in a rush to max out your character.
This practice has been going on for a long time, why are people surprised by this? Some people will "waste" their money on faster progression *buhu!!*. If you think that's unfair, you're in for a rude awakening later in life.

Most gacha games do that.

For example: The Welkin Moon Pass on Genshin Impact costs 5 usd and for 30 day and you get 90 primogens per day, but you must login everyday. I've been paying that for a long time, it's the best deal on Genshin, it basically enables you to get 1 new character per update (but most of times I can even get 2 characters (depending on my luck)).

That's just normal, it sucks... But it's just part of gacha games. If you like them you just have to deal with it.

Anyway, a simple rule: if a game is a gacha and is made by a western dev, is published/developed by nexon/netmarble/netease/(any other shitty publisher or dev) or has pvp p2w focus....

Unless you like suffering and burning money...
