Diablo Immortal |OT| Do You Guys Not Have Phones?

i'm giving up on the PC version for now it's too buggy.

i'm constantly getting notifications that a new skill is unlocked but there isn't so i need to go into it every time just clear it. not only that but the controls are pissing me off. if i click to go somewhere it either doesn't move or it does move and when i let my button go it keeps moving. also my primary attack, if i hold my mouse button down, will stop after a few attacks. i tried playing a controller but it's awful.

i'll stick to playing on my ipad until they release some patches on PC. the PC version is basically just the iOS version with some tweaks. Blizzard need to do much better than this for PC.

I think they should have just not released it on PC at all.

It works so well on mobile, and Ive started using a mix of controller and touch. Controller for clearing dungeons and touch for managing the codex and inventory and buying stuff in town.

the game is designed primarily on iOS so it works best there. i thought i'd play mostly on PC and my iPad now and then but it's the other way around. It's a mobile game first and foremost.

i respect them for letting people play it on PC but all they've done is port the iOS version with some tweaks. they've half assed it. the only thing they can do to turn it around is completely rebuild it for PC but i can't see that happening. we might get some bug fixes but it'll still be a mobile game running on PC.

Theres probably more money in letting it out on PC as well, as an argument in there. But I wish they had the balls to say nope - mobile devices only.

Because it opens up for so much criticism from the enthusiasts with their 3080s and expecting a proper PC client. Which I can understand, and I might have said the same thing if I were gaming mostly on PC.

Yes. Screw the haters who bash it for its MTX and dont even try it. Its a great game, story is waaaay better than D3!
I mean, it's fine to not be a fan of it, but the tiny "don't touch this" brigade has been overly harsh IMO. Don't like it? Cool, but why hover in threads about it just to whine at people and say they're stupid, idiotic, etc. Just move on, lmao. Absolutely no one is supporting the monetization. They're just playing the game while avoiding it for the most part, no harm in that, lol.

Well, Diablo 3s story is the worst in the whole franchise, so the bar is pretty low.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
anyway to change resolution to ultrawide on pc?
Game runs in a weird psuedo-ultrawide by default. I suspect this has to do with it being ported from mobile where the resolution can scale to a weird 19.8:9 resolution that's common in bigger phones.

Cutscenes will have black bars on the sides, and actual gameplay will have smaller black bars. When I played at 3440x1440, there was only like 5% of the screen on either side that was black during normal gameplay.

Paid versus unpaid rifts:

What a difference $20 bucks can make. This game does not respect your time as a f2p customer!

This is bullshit because the game gives you free crests (daily and in rewards) and crests that can be purchased with free in-game currency. He doesn't do an unpaid rift, he does an intentionally gimped rift to drive up engagement from viewers who don't play the game.
Your time and social media interactions are being exploited by a rich streamer - is that a battle you are ready to pursue or are you going to keep up the outrage crusade against the flavour of the week target?

The fact that Blizzard is drip-feeding non-paying customers with a trickle of ingame currency only makes this worse. They do it solely to get f2p users hooked on the necessity of ingame currency.
The only people who are getting exploited are the people investing time into this cancerous game and its disgusting monetization model.

Drug dealers do the same thing. They give them just a wee bit of the good stuff, get them hooked. Then they water it down, occasionally giving them a slightly less watered down version every now and again to keep them on the hook.

Imagine looking at reality and trying desperately to dismiss the actual problems these pay to win designs create. If you still enjoy the game despite these problems, then good! Enjoy the game! But stop trying to pretend like these aren’t massive, glaring flaws that actively *ruin* the game.

Fine. Are you done now?

It would be nice to be able to discuss the game in the OT.

How is it a trickle when the game gives you crests all the time? Crests are the rift modifiers. You might want to run rifts without crests because you don't want 20% more speed or all elites having lasers when you test a new build. Warframe has been doing this for like a decade with relics and now it's a problem?

The experience pacing at late game is annoying. The first time it happened I was only one level away from the level gating but now I'm six levels behind. Why is this a thing? I suppose the game wants me at a certain rank for end-game activities, but this feels like a really dumb way of doing things.

I think they should have just not released it on PC at all.

I'm fine with it being released on PC, but they did absolutely NOTHING to the client. Everything still exists in "mobile land" and that's not what people expect with a PC client of a mobile game. What they need to do is go in and actually update the client so it isn't basically emulating a mobile experience - which it absolutely is doing (I've gotten used to the movement being off, as I'm sure the client is doing its best to mimic touch and move phone controls to a controller, but it is the rest of the UI that still behaves as if you are on mobile that is frustrating). You tell that their instructions for the PC client didn't go father than "Make sure it works."

It's not going to happen, I really don't understand the purpose of it, but hey, I guess it makes them feel like they're really doing some form of justice. I've seen multiple folks accusing others for "defending" the game when folks are just stating the facts that it's how the F2P mobile game industry has been for several years now. That's just stating facts? Lol. Is there a language barrier somewhere? I'm not sure what's going on.

This is discussing the game. Just because it is critical and you seemingly find it triggering doesn’t mean that it isn’t viable discussion.
So, constantly posting random content creator videos and articles while being overly abrasive and shitty to folks that are simply playing the game or asking questions is a discussion? It's just ridiculous, especially in an OT. No one has or will defend the monetization, of course it's ass. Of course there's shitty practices. But we don't need another 10+ influencer/content creator videos saying that.

You seriously need to get your eyes checked and stop trying to play the victim, Miguel. Nothing I have said is “overly abrasive and shitty“ to folks unless they are looking for reasons to be offended. Your continued denial of reality, of the countless people in these threads defending the monetization and gameplay, their dismissal of problems is just sad at this point. Your head is truly in the sand if you genuinely believe what you posted here. It is nothing more than willful ignorance.

I'm not playing victim at all man, but that's fine. Have a good time doing whatever it is you're trying to accomplish here kiddo, lmao.

Both becoming a Shadow and reaching Hell I difficulty (Paragon) significantly expand the range of activities in the game, it's really good.

Imagine the uproar if this game had released 2 years ago when it was supposed too. Mobile gaming has gone far worse than Diablo Immortal, games like Genshin are far worse. Even games on PC like DCUO is just as bad, if not worse. This game is actually falling behind the MTX parade in mobile games now. It's just a big name title, easy to pick on, easy to kick this company when it's fallen so far down.

I'm thankful the game is available on PC to fiddle with, fill in that Diablo itch. They didn't have to do that, but in general these type of games should stick to the Mobile platforms.

All I ask, is please keep Diablo 4 traditional.

You get only 20 something crest as a f2p player which is not enough at all. I just reached lvl 42 and there is absolutely no system to grind these with gameplay currency. The hill vendor currency is also very very scarce or tied only to paid currency.

"Corporations are greedy, evil, and malicious. They need to be regulated or stopped."
- Gamers, as they give the most evil, greedy, and malicious entity, the goverment, even more power.

There's not a single dimension in the multiverse where I would rather deal with the government than with EA or Activision.

Oh they are, as the monetisation is directly linked to game play in the same way Diablo 3 was linked to the auction house until its removal.

Its just anouther facet of the game, or are you saying the MTX strategy of a game should not be discussed because you would rather only good things are said about bad Diablo games?

This free game doesn’t respect your free time? Are they allowed revenue streams, or should it just be entirely free without payment for the assets and servers and developers and 401ks and insurance plans. The entitlement around a *free* to play game is baffling lol. We’re not talking about a $70 dollar game with MtX, we’re talking about a free game. And you want what, more freeness?

Played my third session tonight. Bought the chest again after the mission. That’s gonna be the only things I buy. I’m having a fun time with it. I’m only here for a very casual experience. Just screen mashing basically. The refs in the NBA Finals game decided the Celtics were meant to lose so I had to find something to entertain myself with! Playing Barbarian. Using the Leap skill, cleave, rush and hammer. Seems like a good mix. Makes the solo dungeons easy.

I couldn’t play this game hardcore if I wanted. The menus, upgrades system, gems and 38 types of currency confuse the shit out of me, but so far I’ve been able to screen mash my way through and still have a good time.

Discovered the Shadow Lottery today and won on my first entry. Not sure what the odds are, but I have a feeling it's not difficult. Just completed the initiation process.

The diablo 3 auction house was awful because you needed to buy gear and weapons from there in order to progress on higher difficulties.

There were hundreds and thousands of pages with weapons and gems and all kinds of shit.

The Market in Diablo Immortal so far only has some gems.

Which you can make yourself by playing for a bit. Only the lazy whales would consider buying from there now.

It is an interesting gameplay system indeed (and also isn't really explained that well). I put my name in for the Shadow Lottery and had no idea what it was. Missed it the first try, then got on and got invited to a Dark Clan I can't leave. The Vault Raid is an interesting gimmick, as is the idea of - I'm assuming - becoming the Immortal themselves. It is also cool that there are non-PvP ways to contribute to overall progress.

Yeah this PC client is a real pain to work with. Trying to select rifts or things in general can be a real pain. Probably better off with doing only the mobile version of the game. Though I do like the look of it on PC.

I'm currently level 37 and really enjoying my time with it. I haven't spent any money and don't plan to. I keep running into a weird issue on the PC version where sometimes I just can't attack at all. I end up having to die and when I come back, it's fixed. Is anyone else running into this? It's incredibly frustrating
