Well I can't speak for everyone but I prefer asymmetrical and in my case it's really not a console war thing as I'm playing on PC only
I'm actually quite tired of the Xbox Series controller because of how loud the dpad is, the amount of issues I've been having with these controllers, and the stupid overly bright led that you can't turn off, I had to put tape on it because it bothered me when playing at night.
I was thinking about trying the dualsense lately but it really doesn't seem ideal on PC sadly, with lack of support, lot of various issues (I even heard about games like Horizon Zero Dawn messing up with haptic feedback and audio on dualsense, making sound coming from... the grips
), I'm also scared about going back to symmetrical, but in the end... the dualsense has the same stick issues as the xbox controller so it's not really a win anyway
The only upside would be being able to control the light and less loud dpad.
If the Xbox Elite controller was actually really a premium product that could last years, I would go for that, but since it's just as bad, durability wise, as the regular ones...
I really want a good controller, no matter who made it.
