i was excited to try out this one but it looks like you can only stream it?
Indeed. Only streaming available. So Sony buys different rights from publishers? Itā€™s cheaper to get a ā€œonly streamableā€ version or is this some system level fuck up?

Iā€™ve been playing through the remastered Mafia game. Itā€™s much better than I thought it would be; the story is solid, the visuals are decent enough and I really love the vehicles and the whole 30ā€™s vibe.

played some John Wick Hex. Honestly, I think the core gameplay system is amazing and it's such a shame the game is lacking production values to give it justice. Great idea, poor indie budget execution.
I'd love to see an AAA "strategic action game" taking this to the next level

Thanks, canā€™t wait to jump in again! Might even sneak away to play a bit during the day if the kids are out.

I have to say, I wish Housemarque made a proper metroidvania, theyā€™re so incredibly close here. It would be amazing.

Or just make a non-roguelike mode for Returnal, place the rebirth point closer to where you died, like at the last visted dead Selene, with more permanent things, like the weapons you find. Just to remove some annoyance.

I read that a full playthrough could take 3 hours and then you need to do it all without death. I can safely say that I wonā€™t ever manage that, even though I just finished Elden Ring. Makes me sad. Canā€™t play that long without messing up, I even mess up and die in Super Metroid after playing through it more times than I can count. But place a save point near a boss fight and I can beat almost anything just by being plain stubborn.

Anyway Iā€™ll play as long as Iā€™m enjoying it. PS+ Premium is awesome, trying some games I wasnā€™t sure would be worth full price is exactly what I wanted on PS5, makes me use the console so much more,

Nah not really. You don't have to beat the entire game in one sitting as there is something to it. And you can stumble upon a continue room, or an artifact with a second life.

The game is very fair and once you beat it, you'll beat it again. Its really about the perks and weapons you unlock, as well as the persistent upgrades like the grapple etc. If you have some OP perks and a few decent rolls on artifacts, you'll easily clear the game. If I start out I know quickly enough if I can see it through the end. Generally save oblites for the better upgrades, don't pick up nasty debuffs and don't take too much chances with malignant items (I usually do and they cripple me more than I realize). Being greedy absolutely kills me the most, the same goes for hazard rooms with stuff I don't need but still get and then lasers or w/e hit me hard.

Thanks again, any hint is helpful. I found the respawn thing in my last run, nothing happened (obviously), she just said she was scanned, I guess Iā€™ll experience the respawn at the next death.

The only thing I don't like about this service is that it's almost too good.

Seriously though, I see more games I'd like to try than I'll ever have time to finish. The risk is that because of this I don't give each game a proper chance like I do with games I've actually bought. I always feel more invested in a game I have specifically paid for.

No it's the PS5 version, there is no streaming at all for PS5 versions. Click on the 3 dots maybe? You might be on the wrong version.

I already downloaded and played 30 minutes. I can feel the DualSense when you open doors etc.

i can see why ppl didn't like Biomutant. The gameplay is decent. I like the artstyle.....but the stop and start structure and constant narrative dumps get annoying just 10 mins in.

every 10 feet the game stops to tell u something, or u open a door to a mini cutscene.

Played another 2-3 hours or so in Returnal. Elden Ring is like a kids game compared to this. Not one more permanent upgrade, I only have the secondary fire and teleportation. All Iā€™m finding are more ether and xenoglyphs. And most of the time I just run around with a starter pea shooter.

How do I advance?

Edit: Okay. This just isnā€™t for me. Did a full map discovery, eventually jumped down the first level boss hole. Astronaut extra life, parasite that save me from death, pretty decent weapon. Still died, third phase. But I had made a respawn point, Yay! Couldnā€™t do another respawn point but I bought a full health pack. Close enough. Tried again. Died, second phase. Map is gone. All I have left from playing for 2 more hours is 2 ether, a sword and a bad temper. Iā€™m out.

What time is it?
Descenders is pretty great. It's a downhill mountain biking rogue lite and scratches the itch for extreme sports games of the PS2 era like Downhill Domination.

Went back to Miles Morales today, did some stopping robbery side missions and main missions. It was pretty cool.
Then I did that bridge setpiece.
Wow. Just wow.
That was quite possibly the coolest action cutscene setpiece Iā€™ve ever experienced! Felt like playing a movie!

If this is the first time you're playing Mafia, you're also gonna have a better time with an otherwise terribly obtuse part of the game later on, lol.

It's like Water Temple level stuff.

TGO

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
No-brainers if you have a PS5 are :
Returnal
Ghost of Tsushima - DC
Demon's souls
Death Stranding
Control Ultimate Edition
Spiderman Miles Morales
Guardians of the Galaxy
What if I own all of those...šŸ¤”

I think I have 4 or 5 missions left (according to the trophy list) so Iā€™m not sure if Iā€™ve hit the mission that youā€™re referring to, but itā€™s been relatively straightforward so far, so Iā€™m guessing not.

I think by now you must have done a mandatory story racing mission where you race some old timey sports cars.

That whole segment was incredibly difficult in the original release and they tweaked it for the remaster.

They must have tweaked it quite a lot because I thought that mission was really fun - one of the highlights to be honest - I believe it is similar to the original release if you play the game on classic mode though.

Just got a PS5 and am planning on getting Premium/Extra for Demon Souls remake and to try out Returnal/Days Gone/Death Stranding (and Ratchet and Clank if/when it comes to the service). I own Miles Morales and GoT already and played most big multiplatform games on Xbox but wondering about any PS4/PS5 exclusives I might be missing out on. Also I definitely could use any recommendations on PS1/PS2 games as I mainly played N64/Gamecube that gen and missed a lot.

NeonGhost

uses 'M$' - What year is it? Not 2002.
Do we know if first party games stay on the service forever like Microsoft and game pass?

I liked Seasons After Fall. Not a masterpiece, but you can notice some Ori vibes

Sorry OP but I have to agree with avclub's article pretty much slamming this new crap - the choice quote "crap you already own, and crap you didnā€™t want to buy in the first place" basically describes why these new "tiers" of PSPlus are absolue shyte.

I haven't touched the AC franchise since Black Flag, with the exception of playing Origins for 30 mins on gamepass and hating it.

Started AC:Valhalla. The first impression - it's not horrible. The combat is chunky. The biggest takeaway is how free climbing mountains feels like a breath of fresh air after the piss poor HFW.

I got to England. The game really is way too big. I started doing some quests, first assassinations, all good.

But then I found the shop menu. Basically tons of weapons and gear looking way cooler than anything I've seen in the game obtainable for real money.

No thanks Ubisoft, we're done here.

Damn rumors are lots of AC games incoming . Too bad ubisoft not gonna be patching these anytime soon.

Yeah, I would have expected a remaster of AC IV: Black Flag by now. But I guess all the previous remasters have been PS3 games that don't work on PS4. The only AC game that you can't play on PS4/5 is the very first one (and arguably the best!). But I wonder if they'll try and fix Syndicate at some point.

XBox users have it lucky. Every single AC game just works.

Great list! I have all those games (incl. AC Valhalla) downloaded on my PS5 SSD and M2 SSD except Miles Morales (100% completed).
However, I am now again playing FFX/X-2 Remaster and waiting for my Sony 65A95K to arrive (20th of July) before I start with any of these games.
I have completed the main story of Ghost of Tsushima but will play again due to addition of Iki Island and 4K60 mode and may give Miles Morales another try as I want to know what all the fuss is about with VRR.

I quite enjoy playing graveyard keeper (although only played about an hour as GT7 still exists)

Seems like there's a lot to open up and do. Pretty good in my opinion for a cheap subscription filler.

Guys a little help here: isn't the PS4 /PS5 library between extra and premium the same?

I thought the difference was only for classic games but somehow the PS Store is saying that WWE 2K22 is premium exclusive.

Everyone thought that, and I made an entire thread complaining about the weird inconsistency of the whole program.

While nothing is for certain, the general rule is if a game was released for PS3 first, even if it had a PS4 remaster that came out a year ago, it's considered a "classic" title and limited to premium. There are exceptions everywhere, especially with Ubisoft titles, but also with some of the other games.

Premium is confusing and stupid. It should be limited ONLY to PS3 titles and before, but it's not. It also should have a much better library of PS3 titles, but it doesn't. I'd suggest avoiding it for now.

The only thing we know stays with you forever are the games you get in PS+ Essential.

But, there are tons of games there that were there when PS Now launched and never left.

troll aside.
Is it a fun little platformer or just a meme ?
The first one wasn't very fun for me, it felt kinda cheap with very sparse check points and angle made it difficult to accurately judge the distances. Second is much improved in those areas and was fun.

I upgraded to premium the other week.

Downloaded Returnal but not gonna jump in quite yet. Also downloaded MediEvil and played a few levels. It's a great remake, feels enough like the original game, one of my favorites from the PSX days.

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this but, between Premium and Extra, is it worth the 20ā‚¬ difference?

Do you want to stream the PS1-PS3 games (with small exceptions like Mafia 1 Remake that is a PS4 game and tied to Premium level :D)?

I decided I don't want to play those so Extra is better for me.
