I see the WD SN850 black 1TB regular price is $109.99 and with prime deal is $104.49 and the 2TB is $189.99 and prime deal $180.49. So the only good deal is the Nextorage deal is better $109.99 from $149.99 with heatsink. Right now i don´t need an SSD but in 2 or 3 month would want to buy one. So i can wait and get the SN850 later with the ElecGear PS5 NVMe SSD Heatsink and problem solved.

1TB Nextorage

Price: 110$
Installation: Extremely easy and it has a heat sink already installed. The heat sink is flush the case. Around 2 minutes to get it installed.
Read Speed: 6540.355 MB/s it surpasses Sonys reccomendations.

1TB Samsung 980Pro with heatsink
Price: £95
Installation : Easy but taking off those covers needed more force than I realised. Heatsink is flush and the cover can be replaced after installation.
Read Speed reported by PS5: 5557MB/s

Tip for the covers: Just smack them on the side. That worked for me.

I installed the SK HYNIX PLATINUM P41 2TB SSD in my PS5 with a freaky german Graugear heatsink/copper pipe combo and it sings. Definitely faster than stock while running Borderlands 3 and some other games. Played Borderlands 3 for 5 hours and it was like this thing kissed the fan goodnight. This is the most quiet PS5 I have ever heard. It's Xbox Series X quiet. If you have a noisy fan then get this combo.

Freak Heatsink:

I was playing Resident Evil 3 with my 1TB Nextorage NVME and here’s my impression of the overall performance.

I/O wise I haven’t noticed any issues. No I/O stutters of any kind. As for the fan noise I haven’t noticed any increase in it. Soon I’ll try out Horizon Forbidden West and South Park Fractured But Whole. I’ll update once I play with those a little bit.

Does remote play work for you? The other day I tried connecting to my PS5 on my usual home network and it just showed a black screen. May have nothing to do with installing the SSD but it was the first time this happened.

Edit: seems like it was a problem with the netflix app not showing the option to return to menu. Fixed now.

Got a question.

I have a WD Black SN850 2TB and Im really satisfied with it. I also want to buy a Firecuda 530 2TB.

My question: can I just swap between these two ssd’s? Lets say I pack the WD Black full with games, swap it for Firecuda and install maximum amount of games.

Can I remove WD Black, install Firecuda and vica versa? Or do you always need to format it first and re-install all games?

I have a friend who was able to get a PS5, so looks like at the end of this week I'll be finally jumping in. The first thing I wanted to do was expand the storage. Found this WD SN850 2TB going for $239 US

Now for the heatsink was looking at the Sabrent (because it screws right on top) and 20 bucks isn't too bad. Or would the ElecGear be close for just a little more?
