Phil Spencer most anticipated game is God of War Ragnarök

Spencer revealed his most anticipated game in response to one of several questions posted by the official Xbox Twitter account.

The tweet asked respondents to name their first game, last game, favourite game, and game they want to play next, among others.

Spencer selected God of War Ragnarök, the upcoming PlayStation sequel which was recently given a November 9, 2022 release date, as the game he’s most eager to play next.

It’s not the first time Spencer has expressed a desire to play the highly anticipated title, which was originally scheduled for release in 2021 before being delayed to help Santa Monica Studio deliver “a top-quality game while maintaining the safety and wellbeing” of its team.

Yup, it shouldn't be shocking a GAMER is excited for a GOOD GAME.

In the real world aka outside of Gaf nobody fights over the plastic boxes, if you have the money then you own whichever one plays the game you want and that's as far as that thought goes.

It’s important criticism isn’t deliberately twisted as console wars which some disingenuous folk do.

A lot of people like him , I don’t to be honest in the sense of the gaming output. I’ve been more disappointed as a Xbox fan under his reign than the others in charge despite a subscription service. It’s been a disgrace at times compared to other platforms.

I won’t be buying another one of their systems at launch ever again after Series X. All that talk about power and so on. I should of known better really.

But gamepass is a beast.

It's filled with classics

So, you're saying Mr. harcore gamer Phil isn't going to play a videogame until God of War Ragnarok?

I'm saying there isn't a game coming out before (emphasis) ragnarok he'd rather play yes

But nah you're right bro, he'd rather play ragnarok than literally any completed 23/24 xbox exclusive in development, and even if this was the case he'd certainly make it public

Jesus, get a grip

Don't be surprised if this is a calculated answer by his marketing team. It's actually good business to praise / support your competition, it shows a genuine quality to that person / brand. Look at what it does, it creates headlines and threads like this, gets people talking.

This wisdom comes with age, experience and business knowledge my younger GAF friends.

Robotron being his favorite game is more surprising. Why is he so engaged in gaming if he thinks it peaked in 1982? Although I guess "favorite" might not be the same as "best".

Phil has no competitive bone in his body dude lacks any sort of killer mentality. I'm starting to hate this dude, yes he kind of turned xbox around but we still have no big games this year which is embarrassing. Imagine Jimbo saying this about an Xbox game? it would never happen!

With some of the statements he has made in general, I can't imagine him playing a Sony game, tbh. He comes across as a suit first and foremost. Obviously, I've never met the dude, but that's just the vibe he gives off.

His salary probably disagrees

You’re right, and his chunky pasta gut indicates he eats well too.

Let me rephrase: “Phil is a loser when it comes making the Xbox brand all that it could be; he’s also a loser at managing studios, but a winner when it comes to climbing the corporate ladder. Given the historical dysfunction in that area of MS, I do have to wonder if he’s faced off against any real internal competition.”

On the plus side, he manages to expose hateful losers by simply being friendly with his competitors. This very thread proves it.
