As per the title. Seen a lot of conversation around these parts recently about the lack of x or y on the service or GP sucks this month. So are you feeling GP right now or are you finding your using the service less and less? No question the lack of first party has hurt the service this year, but enough to cancel?

For me personally I'm happy to keep my sub, lots of stuff that interests me and I feel like I've got my monies worth this year easily. I've played loads of stuff that I'd never consider buying and its saved me a bunch on titles that I would normally. Also I'm happy to wait to see if the bigger titles that are slightly out of my comfort zone to come to GP rather than wasting a ton on games that will end up in the backlog. Not to mention game streaming, which I use occasionally as well.

For me Gamepass ultimate plus a PS5 for obvious reasons is the way forward this gen.

So what say you GAF? Gamepass yay or nay?

I've had it since launch with the odd small gap. Was very happy with it but this past 6months/year have been a bit dissapointing if I'm honest. Still have it until 2024 so I'm sure it will pick up but if it was running out this month I wouldn't resub for a while.

I'm happy enough considering I've only been paying £1 here and there, I wouldn't sub for full price tho give the last couple of updates have been weak for me

i enjoyed as dusk falls lately
well i still play forza 5 occasionaly
halo infinite... uninstalled it. too much mockery of userbase

aside from f5, there's not a game that i plan to play on game pass currently. i appreciate ghost recon and far cry additions but im not interested in them sadly

I prefer owning physical games or owning them digitally. I was originally very happy when I subbed for 2 years using the Gold upgrade method. As much as I love owning my games I must say the value for Psychonauts 2, Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 alone was bonkers. Everything else was a cool extra.

However as much as I like my Xbox and currently prefer it slightly over my PS5, I don't think there's anything there to make me re-sub especially at full price.

For what it's worth it is in my opinion the best gaming sub service by a longshot.

I answered Yes. It is very good, but I could always use more games.
I'd also like to see 1st party games dlc as part of it, but that's because I'm cheap :)

No.

I hate it but I know it's necessary.

In fact I hate everything about it and it's other competition. PS+, Nintendo Online and Xbox Live.

If it was up to me, there would he no subscription services and no paid online.

Alas, it is something I could never control. I just look back fondly when everything was free online, no microtransaction and gaas games.

Now, I know for a fact that subscriptions means a heavy focus on gaas and heavier lean on microtransactions.

grumpy old man yells at clouds or whatever. It's what I feel about it.

Yeah i was a bit miffed that the new Horizon expansion was on the service but i suppose you can't have everything.:messenger_downcast_sweat:

I Think they'll make bank in the end with putting the base game on GP but the super/gold editions/ expansions etc as paid for COD for example (when it comes). Think its a great model, time will tell I suppose.

I never would've played As Dusk Falls without Game Pass, turned out to be one of the best games of 2022.

Please lets not turn this into platform wars as usual.

All trash talk aside, if you are someone who is new to gaming and has an Xbox console, then Gamepass is an INCREDIBLE deal and one I would recommened without hesitation. There is tons of great stuff.

But for someone who has played most of the great stuff on it, it's very hollow for me and the one game I wanted to play this year, Starfield is unavailable. It becomes less attractive.

I love, love, love it. I can't imagine gaming without it anymore. One of my favorite things about Game Pas is how much it's broadened my tastes in games and genres I never would have considered in the past. Now I can always find something to play. Xbox keeps adding games and features to make it even better, like EAPlay and xCloud.

I probably need to play this game at some point. It seems interesting enough.

There are so many games that have become such great experiences that I probably wouldn't have played if I had to buy them.
Hollow Knight, the Ori games, Hades, Dead Cells, and on and on. Previously I was much more into fps, RPGs and horror games, but these games being on GP has opened up the type of games I now play.

Should pick up again next year but i understand your frustration just now.

It's a great service and I love it. There's so many games I wouldn't have experienced if not through Game Pass.
Power Wash Simulator for example is something I would never have considered if I'd have to buy it, out of fear to waste money on something I probably won't enjoy. Started it up on cloud, loved it and am sure to play many more hours, because it's so addicting.

This is where the service shines just now imo. Games that would have been a rent and see back in the day but without the hassle.

Don't pass gaas, it is your Destiny!
Prob switch to pc only instead of ultimate when my sub is up but keep getting free months added for some reason so gonna be a while.

It’s not as crazy good as 2021 but for the price it’s still more than worth it. I don’t know how I would feel if I didn’t have a PC though as most of the big games were PC this year.

How much h a yearly gamepass sub? Ultimate with mp.
Not sure i loaded up a while ago. You can buy a month for a tenner on Amazon so 120GBP. i'm sure there are ways of getting it cheaper if you can be arsed jumping through a few hoops.

Yep. As long as I can continue paying for it with MS Rewards, I have no reason not to be happy.

I'm on a 3 month for $1 sub, so it's been more than worth it for me, lol. I won't remain an ongoing subscriber though. My backlog is too big, but I'll re-sub when another stupidly great deal is offered.

I am on a bit of hiatus at the moment on GP. Actually gaming on general...
But I am pretty happy with the service, even though I do think it could use more non-GAS Asian games. I enjoy more robust language choices though.
I have my service upto 2024, so will see. But less than 5 bucks per month, (did the 3yr thing + bought 1 year at Black Friday last year) - I think it's given me more entertainment time than my Netflix and Disney Plus subs combined. (I finished several 100+ hour games on it already)

I'm extremely satisfied with the value I get out of it, especially across both PC and Xbox, The only thing I really want right now is a decent family plan..

Hasn't really blown me away, to be honest. I recently picked up a Series X and signed up to 3 years of GamePass. So far this year, I would have been just fine buying the games I wanted to play instead (Halo Infinite, Ori1/2, etc).

After dabbling around with many other games, I just really don't feel like playing them as they aren't captivating to me. I guess I just have pretty high quality standards and really don't like mid-level filler games. To be fair, maybe 2022 is just an outlier due to the fact that there's literally going to be almost nothing of note releasing. Starfield next year should be more interesting, but still...if that's the only noteworthy release I'd be better off just buying the game. They really need at least one big AAA every 3 months to really seem like a good deal to me.

If I had to pay $15 / month MSRP? Absolutely not. But since I am only paying like $4/month through that back-end deal, sure, it's fine for that price.
