Seems like it's set in the early 2000's Florida. The cop car says V.C.P.D. on the back(Vice City Police Department, duh)and Port Gellhorn on the doors, which is potentially a homage to Martha Gelhorn's reporting of D-Day(plus 1) from an unnamed British port. Gelhorn's husband during this time was Ernest Hemingway, and they famously resided in Cuba at the time....so it's possible Cuba is also part of the game in some capacity.

It also made the wait more torturous. But the hype and excitement was through the roof when I got the game in my hands.

Never again will I ever follow that website.

I remember when half life 2 got leaked. It was massive. I got the alpha build back then but trust me these things are boring and shit to play.

Also doubt rockstar can do anyway if it's a guy in Russia or somewhere else.

So yeah, that leak is from late 2020.

there’s plenty of leaked bits dated in code from 2021 too, and the vids were encoded very recently

i wasn't sure about going back to vice city cause i thought it'd be set in the past but i'm up for a modern version of it. the map obviously isn't finished yet but it looks good. can't wait to see the final product.

that means we can expect 2 years of progress after this leak... since it looks advanced i would say gta is probably close to finished by now (i have no idea im just some random guy on the internetz)

Isn't voice recording something that happens pretty far into the development of a game? Or am I wrong?

If the game is 2024, I can maybe see a PS4 version, and even that is a stretch. If it's 2025 or after, no way.

You were probably too young to realise what you had back with the HL2 leak as you wanted the full game to play?

Leaks like this are not interesting because they are fun to play, they are interesting due to the insight into the development, cut content etc. Probably best to wait for the full game if you are only interested in the fun playable aspect of the game.

Personally that HL2 leak was super interesting. I didn't need to play it (I did) but I read a ton of things that other people had data mined and found out about the game that was fascinating.

They are both tracking better or a tiny be worse then last gen though... That suggests equal or better installbase.

I mean sure shit could happen but stock is being reported to get better in 2023.

Oh I was well aware that it was the full game.

It was just so limited. It had a few maps and you could try the gravity gun.

the footage suggests it's likely from 2020. it's definitely over a year old as there are some shots of employee names who haven't worked there for over a year.

who knows what state the game is in now and we don't even have an official reveal yet. once we get that it's probably still 2 years away.

The dude brought up source code so if a build was to somehow get out I could not legally say If I would play it or not :cool:.

Also, he said he was a part of the Uber hack in which an employee got social engineered, obtain his passwords + 2FA, got into Uber's servers, and found a master password list that had a plain text pass for their main account to lock out a hacker lol. Also he said these videos/photos were taken from an employee's slack channel so chances are he got credentials and logged into slack etc and had his fun.

I know an animator that works at Rockstar (wont name names for obvious reasons) and he has deleted all of his social media and put his facebook profile to private. He did the exact same thing when GTAV leaked... hasn't replied to any messages.
