God of War Ragnarok Pre-load & Review Embargo Date Revealed

I love this series but I just have no hype for this game. And that's not a statement on it's quality, for obvious reasons. I'm just speaking personally. I have this feeling that it's just more of the same. A chance to use the assets one more time, refine some things that were lackluster in the first game, and set the stage for the PS5 entry.

Not that the experience will likely be something to complain about. I love this series and have never not had fun when playing one of them.

Maybe the better idea is to stop concentrating on just the"score" and read or listen what reviewers say, some of their postive points might not be postive for you and vice versa.

Score alone wont say nothing what actual game is like.
It's 10/10 scores though. Your saying it's near perfect when you give something that score.

No, 10/10 usually means someone enjoy the game enough to give that score, it doesn't mean the game is flawless.

And if a game gets 10/10 its no guarantee you going to enjoy the game.

If it's in the genre of games I like I would hope I would otherwise what's the point of reviews? I did enjoy it but there are such obvious deficiencies I can't possibly seeing it getting as many 10/10s as it did.

Reviews are just one person's perspective and opinion of that game nothing more and nothing less. Again concentrate less on "score" and instead focus more on what actual reviews says.

First one puts me to sleep. Makes me tired every time I play even on PC. Hopefully there's a FOV option. Never used to have that problem before getting a concussion. :/

Having a week before release embargo is showing Sony has great confidence in this game. Can't wait to see how this all ends in Ragnarok.

I'm so excited for this game's release. Not because I want to play it, but because I want to get rid of this %$#*ing avatar.

I'm damn hyped for this. Elden Ring was amazing but did it really need to be 150 hours long? Plus this has an actual story so its hitting on multiple fronts.

But I don't like comparing them, I just want another great game for 2022, I love the franchise so I hope its as good as can be.

Hoping they improve: Boss fight quantity, enemy variety, slightly harder puzzles.

That is my recipe for success.

Ragnarok is the game. GoW(2019) is the single game that has profound emotional impact on me and Ragnarok is direct continuation of that. I don't care which game ends up bagging more goty awards. The only goty award that matters is your own personal goty. For me without even playing Ragnarok is goty.

It's not one reviewer. it was multiple reviewers. 10/10 reviews aren't going to really highlight the deficiencies otherwise they wouldn't be 10/10.
I'm going to keep my expectations in check this time though I am expecting a better game than the last one.

My suggestion stop looking at score and read actual review or look at gameplay.
I only play games that win GOTY.
I hope you are joking.

I wouldn't recommend reading a review because most of them are personal tastes. So if a reviewer don't like type 'X' of games, so the game 'X' even being a good game will get a mix/bad score.
Instead, my better suggestion is to find some reviewer with match your preferences or you usually trust in their viewpoint.

On the other hand, watching a gameplay via Youtube/Twitch would be a good sugestion.

That’s exactly my point, instead of just looking at score, read what reviewer have to say, reviewer’s positive point might not be positive for you or the reviewers might have issues that you personally not bothered by it.

It’s the opposite for me. I tend not to get hyped for games these days (even AAA releases). But Im getting more and more excited for this one. That final trailer sold me.

I mean, I’m sure GOW:R will be great, but I think it is sensible to wait for the reviews before claiming any GOTY honours.
Edit: Just to add as context, I haven’t been compelled to complete ER, so it wouldn’t be my personal GOTY anyway, which is the most important thing to me. That honour goes to GT7.

Can’t believe it’s only 5 weeks left, this year has truly been awesome. Elden Ring, Horizon FW, GT7 and GoW: Ragnarök. I can’t remember a better year for me personally.

Edit: Oh, and The Callisto Protocol. Hard to say if it will be as good as DS 1&2 but I have faith.

God of war 2018 wasnt really for me, but even so, i expect this will be quite good! I hope it recaptures some of the epic scale of the original games

calling it, GOTY

Elden Ring was fantastic but had a few too many flaws, I think GOW will be more consistent with bigger spectacle
ER is done. Too many flaws to undermine a game that would be perfect. I also don't think it'll get GOTY but we'll see. The two high profile games this year are ER and Ragnarok.

People often trying to compare this game to Elden Ring.

Subjectivity aside, one thing I'm pretty sure of is that in terms of performance and other technical aspect, it will be better than Elden Ring by large margin

The Windows version of Elden Ring still suffer from shader cache stutter, no fix
