Shuhei Yoshida: "We believe in the premium release of a title" before subscriptions

Honestly if your saying I want gamepass to go away I'm not saying that. As I said earlier both can exist in this market. However I always want the option to buy my games. Plus I'm sure many developers want people to do that as well.

I'm not against choice just against the idea we shouldn't be able to own our games.
Your option is granted. You can buy the games.

Gaming subs have been around for years. I think PS Now launched in 2014 and GP in 2016 or 2017. How many games on PS or Xbox sub plans are stream only?

They you'll be happy to know that there are no consoles that are sub exclusive. You can purchase or subscribe or do both. We can all rest easy now.

It's more about the future of gaming than anything else. I'll never buy a platform that doesn't allow you to buy your games. If Sony rapes us by taking away that option I'm done with them. They can eat shit at that point. And all those that support those practices can eat shit as well.

The costumers are choosing, they are choosing to buy games on Switch/PlayStation/Steam as well as playing F2P trash.

Between F2P games, traditional games and Gamepass like library rental subscriptions, the least disruptive and the one that has yet to prove itself viable (specially in light of all the money that was invested in it) is Gamepass. Gamepass has existed for more than 5 years already what has it changed?

I don't understand the question. It seems irrelevant to what I said which was customer choice - you seem to picking a fight whether subs are viable which doesn't matter when it's just letting customers have an option.

Sony and most other publishers charging for their games instead of including them in some subscription service isn't denying anyone options, that's their business model and the reason those games were made in the first place.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
I only hate those that don't want me to have the option to buy my games or that call me dumb for doing so.

What's wrong with that?

I don't think anyone wants to take away yours or anyone elses choice on how you play games.

But that door swings both ways, people who prefer the sub/rental model also don't want to be told off. 🤷‍♂️

I know it does. I have nothing against people who prefer the sub model. Only against those that believe its the only way to game.

I'm not retarded you know. Next time don't underestimate me.

Wasn't meant to talk about you specifically, in general there are an above average number of posts in this topic telling people who like the sub model off.

Did I say anything about Sony. Settle down, warrior.

Oh, so this thread isn't about Sony now?

Trying to frame turning everything into a subscription service as the only way for costumers to have options is not going too fool anybody here, warrior.

Never said any of that - and this thread has covered a lot of ground, but my comments aren't specific to Sony. Multiple platform owners have given multiple options to customers in a variety of ways - including subscriptions (e.g. plus, gamepass, gold, etc). None of exclusive one way or the other, and I am saying options are good (more options are better) regardless of platform.

So if you want to expand my comments into your own narrative, that's fine but you're swinging at shadows.
