As the whole Naughty Dog studio is likely all hands on deck for The Huge Massive TLOU Online Game, the main man mayhem maestro Neil Cuckmann in-chief has already announced he is currently busy making what could possibly be his final magnum opus.

I've been reading stuff online and it seems most people really like to entertain the thought it should just be Part 3, and have this franchise take over the studio for decades to come... Really?

I think they should bang out a PS5 Part2HD/Part1 bundle asap and leave Part3 till the end of Gen10. Release Factions 2 (or whatever it's called), have a team live service maintaining and expanding on that for years, and move everyone else over to making something totally brand new, while sticking to what they currently do best - action adventure with dark, mature story and brutal, grounded combat and stealth. How about medieval dark fantasy or Sci-fi.

Please no more Uncharted and no PEGI12 platformers, let indies take that stuff over for the betterment of mankind.

So, NeoGaf, what do YOU want their next big single player game to be?

I’d take Uncharted 5. Old Drake goes after his missing daughter kinda thing.

But it’s going to be TLOU3. That feels like it’s very much unfinished.

Their games are the personification of immersive. Which makes me all in with whatever they choose to create next.

not last of us and not uncharted. I liked uncharted but i can probably go the rest of my life without playing another one. 6+ games was enough

I expect them to eventually finish TLOU but hopefully its not the next game, between the remakes, factions, and the tv show, i need a break

a game that doesn't rely on context sensitive platforming, doesn't have a single forced slow walking sequence, doesn't have fake puzzles and fake obstacles, and doesn't have a stealth system.

sadly, I think my wishes will remain unfulfilled

I love Uncharted so I wouldn't mind another sequel (or prequel,) but Nate has to come back. I would like ND to still continue adventurous/lighthearted type games. Otherwise, I lost interest in TLOU with P2, so a new IP would be nice.

Uncharted with the younger Drake seen in Chapter 2 of U4. Or young Sully.

PS5 new/heavily modified engine rendering exotic paradisiacal places, same mechanics from Uncharted 4 made to good use this time, bring back Eddie and Rika, more Edmonson-like OST:

Dream game right here, 40 million copies sold (for reference, 37 million played Uncharted 4).

I think ND have done the Indiana Jones, then the gritty survival, now it’s time for sci-Fi.

However, I think due to the TLOU Remake and the TLOU TV show, my chips are that they are working on Factions and TLOU Part 3.

Of the realistic options I'd rather have Uncharted (with Nathan Drake) or a new IP with a similar tone (i.e. more lighthearted and not taking everything super seriously)

Of everything listed I'd want a Jak and Daxter reboot/remake as the 1st one is one of my favorite games of all time

honestly, Savage Starlight would be the one kind of light-hearted idea I'd be happy to hear them making, and I like cell shading done well

Agreed on sci-fi (or fantasy), I don't think we'll see TLoU3 until the show (if successful for more seasons) progresses more in the timeline catching up to 2, etc..

I want Uncharted 5 specially if:
  • Sony stops replacing or killing their hetero / white / male leads and bring back Nathan Drake as the main character (also playing as him for at least 75% of the game)
  • All men aren't shown as bad or dumb guys
  • Women aren't uglyfied
  • There aren't filler characters introduced briefly adding nothing to the game, only to mark a check in the 'inclusivity' list
TLDR: I want Uncharted 5 specially if woke free and if they focus more on making a great game than in woke propaganda and 'inclusivity' lists.

And well, same applies to any future Sony game, but specially from ND. From the first time since the first Uncharted I'm not looking forward to play the next ND title due to Lost Legacy and TLOU2 even if ignoring the woke stuff TLOU2 was a great game.

I want Uncharted 5 with Nathan Drake as the only playable main character during at least 90% of the game and where ND doesn't kill Nathan Drake.

I just hope they will still make the industry leading cinematic games they do so well, whatever the setting. But I won’t be disappointed even if they stay with Uncharted or TLoU.

A Punisher game where you have to plan and prepare meticulously before attacking all the bad guys would be great. Semi open world, mix of GTA lite and the old school Assassin's Creed. With a reputation system like in Ghost of Tsushima(and Infamous) that open you contact with all of the regular MCU heroes and villains.
Sci-fi would be next. They have the talent to give us great cinematics moments .
Another Uncharted would be nice. But I fear a GOW ascension if they try it.
After Tlou 2 I trust them with any game they want to try.

New IP. I would like to see what they can do with something a bit more fantastical. Doesn't have to be light-hearted necessarily, but less grounded in reality than TLOU would be cool.

I'm open to almost anything besides another TLOU or Uncharted. I mean, I might still buy those... maybe, but I'd like them to try something else.

New gritty and realistic game with great characters and story telling. Think Training Day The Game

TLOU needs a break and Lost Legacy lost me with the open world section. Felt totally out of place

Represent.

Represent(ative) of bad opinions
New IP followed by TLOU 3 at the end of the gen or the beginning of next gen. Let the HBO show be a massive success for a few seasons then drop TLOU 3 at the peak of all that. Oh baby!

Pretty confident thats what will happen too.

What do I want from their New IP?

I think its time this industry had a SERIOUS, real, big budget War game. None of that call of duty Micheal Bay shit. A War game that REALLY shows the hardship, brutality, and mental side of War.

A man can dream

Wondering it "THAT future game!" is an IP that we did not expect Naughty Dog to do and fans have been clamoring for... or just "his final magnum opus" as you put it. :pie_thinking:

Or, literally Savage Starlight which would take place in the future, and "THAT" game people have been asking and rumbling about since TLoU.

Users also quizzed the duo on Savage Starlight, the space-faring adventure depicted in comic collectibles found in The Last of Us. When asked it it's actually a game, Richmond said, “If only the Starlight wasn’t so Savage…”

While this sounds like a tease, OPM has reminded us of a tweet from Naughty Dog president Christophe Balestra, that seems to debunk the game's existence.

Visiting SpaceX... and no we're not making a game that takes place in space! We just got invited because we're cool! pic.twitter.com/9z07IPKsUi
