Shu Takumi (Ace Attorney creator) hints at announcement on twitter.

Shu Takumi wrote some tweets about Ace Attorney's 21st anniversary today, promoted an upcoming appearance on a show called "Game Genome," and also hinted at a new Ace Attorney in the works.

In the meantime.... I came out here to tell you that there is something I really wanted to "let you know"....
Well, for those of you who like Gyakuten (Gyakutan Saiban/Ace Attorney), I don't have to tell you that this already "goes without saying"...or maybe not.

Seems like he's talking about Ace Attorney 7, rumored to be in development from the Capcom leaks two years back, we could be getting an announcement sooner rather than later.

I tried to watch the Phoenix Wright anime and it was a shot for shot remake of the game. So did not finish more than a few episodes.

I think full 3D investigations could be cool, and I've always wanted the series to lean further into the forensics stuff it flirts with from time to time. Assuming it's Shu Takumi back helming a mainline entry, and this is the first AA game designed from the ground up for home consoles* rather than a handheld, I'd expect there may be some changes to the formula. Also, if the leaks are to be believed, this game will have been in development for quite some time. That could be for a number of reasons, of course, but I'd like to think they're doing something ambitious with this one.

*Or handled/home console assuming they're targeting Switch.

Does series really need RE engine? These series does not and should not go for realistic faces like RE and DMC5 went with.
I never said anything about the game needing to be realistic, just the game using RE Engine would be nice.

Yeah maybe it was little short sighted in my part but I didn't liked the result in DMCV. if the keep the same artstyle why the hell not.

If Ace Attorney came out with a high fidelity ass 3D cell shaded/illustrated looking art style in RE Engine with some innovative new systems to boot, I might cry for Kodaka and Chunsoft. But, fuck it, give Raincode some competition.
