Feels like a "love it or hate it" kind of game. I've really grown to appreciate those. When it's for you, you get something new and special. And when it's not, you can ignore it and move on. Death Stranding bored me to fucking tears. For others, it was GOTY. I'm glad we have games like that, offering up new things and taking big risks, even if they're not for me.

Yeah, Death Stranding didn't do it for me but my wife loved it. Just like I know I'll love this, and my wife will most certainly hate it lol. She hid under the blankets during Hellraiser....but hey, it's great to have diversified content man! Something for everyone out there.

if I had to describe it with as few words as possible I would say "Horror-Action-Myth"
it has slight Survival Horror elements, Action Adventure elements, and classic graphics adventure elements of Myth-like games
Survival Horror elements: you die real fast and you have to manage ammo + health items
Action Adventure elements: you upgrade something that's similar to a key card, and have navigate placed with small environmental puzzles and find items to progress
Myth like elements: puzzles that could be straight out of Myth and that influence usually bigger puzzles that lock your progression
so anyone who likes Myth like puzzles, Resi like health+ammo management and slight metroid like elements will be into this for sure.

This is a shame. Why couldn't they make it a "Proper" horror game? I had the same problem with The Medium. They both have amazing visuals and concepts but they seem to really lack in the gameplay department. Gimmie Scorn but with survival-horror elements and I'd be so happy.

Merits of the game aside, it has a fantastic art style, areas look like they're straight up Giger concept art, and the performance (so far) has been really good. Looks like a (possibly dynamic) 2160p at 60 FPS to my eyes.

Was Poppy Playtime heavy promoted before it's release? I feel as if that game was all over the streamers and was hearing about it for quite a while after release then everyone played it then forgot about it.
But Poppy Playtime became much bigger than it had any right to be while it was out.

After playing for awhile on PC I'll say this is an absolutely beautiful game..Its like the most beautiful weird most boring game of all time, but I like it...I think that Skill Up Review nailed it when they said its a game that makes you so curious to see whats around the corner.
