UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves | PC Review Thread

Nonsense is having to drag a crosshair on screen, "needing" aim assists, claw grip to access every button at same time and L3/R3. Those things should have died at their birth. It's incredible these things still exist in 2022 and people pay for that.
Huh? You need a claw grip to play uncharted?

I don't. But those who play with controller, they need to change weapons, reload, jump, melee, roll, take cover, climb, evade without losing camera and/or movement controls.

Played U4 last night for around 3 hours and apart from the opening boat chase, i havent fired my gun yet. This was the problem when i played the game years ago, it has such a drop in action compared to the orig trilogy.

Having said that, i actually enjoyed my time last night. The quaility of voice acting really does keep your interest.

This game seems to like AMD GPUs

Good that this is coming over to PC, but being realistic, it would've made more sense sequentially to port over the Triology first. I'll still buy it though...

Played the first 10 minutes. Locked 120FPS at 4k, even without DLSS.

Uncharted 4 is a textbook definition of a console game, to the point that it feels weird to play it on PC.

I disabled all aim assists but crosshair still felt weird and snapped to targets.

Everything is so heavily scripted, it's ridiculous. Boats explode in scripted fashion, 0 psychics involved which makes it look silly. You get a prompt to press a button to dive or the boat will run you over? Don't worry, you don't need to press it, game does it for you. Steer to much to the left or right, boat will steer by itself and correct it course. Etc. etc.

What's the point? I'm seriously too old for this. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Really? Pathetic.

What? Can't be true.

The last one is true, it's the first sequence of the game. The crosshair stuff is bullshit, I have 0 auto aim on and playing with a controller and it doesn't snap to target for me. Probably has a setting still on.

Game runs very nicely on ultra wide maxed out on my RTX3090 + 10700k

I will double check. I played with mouse + keyboard, that also makes a difference.

That's how the entire game is. All smoke and mirrors.

Edit: I've checked, there's no aim assist for mouse. Or maybe the settings for controller affect the mouse? Or maybe it feels weird because you're on a boat in the middle of the storm. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Also, game supports HDR. rofif rofif

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
Any work around/mod for the unsupported CPU thing or gotta wait for a potential official patch to remove the new instructions or whatever requirement like some other games did? Dang, that's a first for me, 3770K's days numbered I guess 🪦 but it'll take more than a Sony port to accept it :messenger_fire:

I have to come back to your comment. The game still runs great for me, but the gameplay really sucks. Qte galore.

I'll get it after they release the trilogy.
Could have been my first Sony game, mainly in order to check how I like it in comparison with Gears of War 4 and whether it deserved to be GOTY 2016. But do I want to play a game that is praised for its narrative focus while missing three quarters of story and character development? Lol, no. So either they bring part 1-3 to PC too, or I'll continue to ignore their games.

One of the few really repulsive users around here.
Yes, his posts usually contain uncomfortable facts. I can see how a certain group of people would find that repulsive.

Just his history of trolling avatars was enough to show his trolling modus operandi. I’m not even going into the number of bans he had for shitposting or lying. You have to be in the real deep rabbit hole of console wars to not see this guy as a disingenuous troll who had one objective - troll. You would never read him talk about games or game experiences. It was all sales, numbers and CEO talk - and alt-right politics.

I must have missed the alt-right politics then - even though "alt-right" seems to have lost its meaning nowadays just like the term "nazi". If almost everyone is a "nazi", then what's its meaning?

I just dug through my own post history, as most of the characteristics you described apply to me too. You will find a few posts about game experiences, though - I just don't like seeing my favorite games being discredited on a regular basis, and that's why I developed a healthy dose of sarcasm over time. Even though it doesn't matter anymore, I could see a similar reason for Bernd's posting style.

The HDR is there.
Early reviewers were just idiot and didn't knew to enable it in windows first.
And there is no fps lock
Yeah, I just got around watching DF's review, it looks like a solid port, even though it lacks a bit extra attention (it's an outsourced port, after all).

I would never in a million years put you in the same group as Bernd.

Well - if that's the case I really must have missed some of his posts because I think that he could very well be an alt account of mine, even our nationality matches.

Back to topic: I am not the only one who would like to try the Uncharted trilogy on PC, so I hope Sony ports it too.

Bought it dirt cheap on PS4 years ago and only played maybe 4 chapters and kinda just forgot about it.
Bought it now again on PC and I'm already at chapter 16 and really enjoying it.

Ya quality of animations, combat and story are great, but everything else is avg at best. A lil bit overrated, uncharted 4. But 1-3 are much better games. So while the series is not bad at all 4 is overrated as fuck.

Yes it is. Mouse control is completely broken after this patch.
I'm using the controller until they fix the game. It works well, but I would rather use the mouse for combat.
After? How can it be worse than before without raw data and frame rate dependence?
