I'm sorry but that will never happen with FROM software games but I'm Okay with that because they're good at everything else. Demon souls look so good because of PlayStation involvement.
I half agree and disagree - agreed because From Software does indeed lack in the technical and engine department. There is quite a bit of jank and glitches here and there. And it's been like that for years.

However, I disagree because any time they release a game they're always critiqued for their engines and technical flaws. At one point or another they will be forced to make a new engine.

Also, Demons Souls Remake was utilizing the Shadow of the Colossus Remake engine for those who didn't know. So yes, it was largely due to a Sony involvement. Regardless, I'd like From Software to get out of their comfort zone and up the game at the technical level.

The game by no means is ugly or anything, From Software always carries themselves with their insane art direction. But a technical upgrade is long over due in some shape or form.

And this is coming from a very big From Software fanboy who had the pleasure of meeting Miyazaki in real life multipe times and seeing Booodborne gameplay behind closed doors before it was shown to the world.

I met him at E3 2014 and E3 2018. Bpoodborne was behind closed by appointments only in E3 2014.

Amazing sales numbers, but Where are the people that said it will sell 40m lifetime? Even 30m would be a stretch.
Game has never been discounted so far, it’s actually really impressive that it’s at 17.5M full price sales.

Add in the progressive discounts, DLCs and GOTY editions and it will reach much higher. Other games have gone from 10M in the first year to 20M several years later (GoW 2018 for example).

Doubt it. Even zelda, mario and spider-man haven't hit those numbers. If they can't, elden ring has no chance.
You do realize that Mario and Zelda is only on Nintendo platforms which limits where and how many can be sold yes? Meanwhile, Elden Ring is PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One and PC/Steam. Quit the mushrooms.

Crazy really! I had my gripes with it but it's still an amazing game and couldn't be more deserved!

I think in this time frame the only games that are Bigger in the retail space are COD and rockstar games.

You think I'm stupid? I know that. Elden Ring won't have the legs, is what I'm saying. It's not about how many platforms it's on. You think elden ring has the staying power of the likes of Mario and zelda? Quit the methamphetamine.

???? What nonsense is this? Those games did not get to this number that quickly?

Witcher 3 and skyrim have both crossed 30 million and it took them way longer to hit 17 million.

I will bet my left nut it will sell 30 million eventually.

Is DLC confirmed to exist ? Or is all that just wishes/assumptions?
Well more than a few things suggest dlc is on the way according to the latest patch, but I guess we are still in assumption territory... though I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't expand on the franchise as quickly as possible.

Bring on Elden Ring 2 with visuals similar to Demon's Souls Remake or better now that cross gen stuff is going away.
Unfortunately, if From is making the game, I can't imagine anything like Demon's Souls graphics.

Too bad From can't just design all their games and let someone like Bluepoint handle the implementation.

Yeah, I am curious too see how From moves forward with the technical/visual perspective in their future titles. Armored Core is next from what I heard, but I have no clue if that's cross gen or not.

The only way I see From really upping their engine game is if Sony or MS buy then and give them their engines/tools. Most likely Sony would be the better fit here. It's kind of weird, because Elden Ring, Dark Souls 2 and 3 and Sekiro all debuted at Microsoft Xbox Conferences. Elden Ring was marketed heavier on the MS side. Either way, don't matter as long as they keep producing good top tier products like Elden Ring moving forward.

While probably not Elden Ring 2, Sony invested a lot of money for a new partnership title

One reason stated was to leverage Sony’s production strength, so we could see better looking From titles in the future

W3 & Skyrim sold 30 mil, but half of those units sold were at 10-15 bucks

when a game has this much hype and delivered this well it's definitely gotta sell super well.

It's already sold well and is a massive success. Selling 40m copies is next level though! It's possible I guess. I just think 30m is the ceiling for elden ring. It won't have the legs to keep selling well over a longer period of time to reach 40m. If anyone deserves it though. Its from software.

crazy huge. This is another reason why I think it deserves the GOTY, regardless of how good GoWR is.
