NVIDIA is expected to reveal its GeForce RTX 4070 Ti graphics card at CES next week, but it preemptively leaked the specs. Thanks to new rumors, we have a sense of the GPU's likely price too.
The RTX 4070 Ti is slated to have 12GB of GDDR6X memory with 7,680 Cuda cores that can be boosted to 2.61GHz, as Tom's Hardware notes. NVIDIA seemingly expects the card to deliver 4K gameplay at up to 240Hz, or 8K visuals at 60Hz with DSC and HDR enabled. The company claimed the RTX 4070 Ti will deliver around 3.5 times better performance than the 12GB RTX 3080 in Cyberpunk 2077 when the new RT Overdrive mode is enabled.

It has been widely believed that the latest card would essentially be a rebranded version of the 12GB RTX 4080. In October, NVIDIA reversed plans to release that model and suggested it would rebadge the GPU.

Meanwhile, rumors indicate NVIDIA will sell the RTX 4070 Ti for $799. It was previously expected that the price would be $899, but NVIDIA may have lowered it after the US delayed tariffs on GPUs that were set to resume on January 1st. Based on the RTX 4070 Ti's expected performance, Wccftech ran the numbers and found that, on a teraflop-to-dollar ratio, the GPU will offer 97 percent of the value proposition of the $1,599 RTX 4090.

Confirmed Faster than 3090 Ti (according to a leaked slide from tomorrows presentation). Launch is only 3 days away...

Plebs edition 😂

If the faster than 3090 Ti holds up I think it will be a good purchase at $799, for 1440p high refresh gamers. $799 is still a lot but it should easily beat last gens original 3090 flagship at 1440p.

$799 for a 70 series card LOL

nvidia keep milking them fanboys dry
Nvidia's 70-series card will have performance close to AMDs 900 series card this gen.

AMD fans are getting milked at least as much, this is at least $100 cheaper than the 7900 XT for probably similar (less than 10%) performance.

Does anyone actually base their graphics card purchasing decisions on teraflops per dollar? I mean, eBay will sell you a GTX 1080, which is a 9 tflops card, for less than $150, so that's a mere $16 per tflops. A used GTX 680 will cost you about $12 per teraflop. That's 200% of the "value proposition" of the RTX 4090.

NGL if this is under 1k cad its not bad value here as you cant get 3090s, let alone 3090tis for that price.
I agree with you if the performance is indeed equal or beats a 3090

People wanting to compare pricing to the 3070 I think are silly because the performance boot of previous 70 series wasn't near this

I think those leaks include DLSS 3.0, which makes it bullshit.
Yeah maybe just remember reading in 3D Mark it was on par with the 3090ti and beat it in some games so makes since if that included 3.0

I think maybe you're right. The charts above are against a 3080 and I think it's only faster because of DLSS 3.0. We'll find out here in a few days.

for the 90 series sure, but as evidenced by the 4080, the performance delta for the lower tier cards will be mostly the same as it usually is.

It'll easily beat the 3080, there is no chance Nvidia would release a slower card at $100 higher, 2 years later.

What do you mean? From Techpowerup the following %s are true.

4090 = 64% faster than 3090
4080 = 46% faster than 3080 at a 70% price increase
4070 Ti = 56% faster than 3070 Ti (if the 3090 Ti claim holds) at a 33% price increase

This is a much better situation than the 4080.

I might bite the bullet on this. $800 is an amount I can justify and it's definitely the best value at that price point. I just changed jobs so I want to get caught up on some things first but when it comes time to build a new PC I'll be looking at this.

All the talk about Nvidia strategically pricing the Lovelace line to sell alongside ampere are playing out. And AMD may be doing the same thing or simply taking advantage of an opening to jack up prices.

The naming scheme from AMD is weird but the Nvidia naming is strange in a different way. At this rate a 4050 is going to cost $450 and run games at 1440k 60 maxed lol.

Seems more likely to me that something like the following will happen

4070 Ti (3090 Ti) at $799
4070 (3080 Ti) at $699
4060 Ti (3080) at $499
4060 (3070) at $349
4050 (3060) at $249

Improvements at every price tier vs. last gen. You really think Nvidia is stupid enough to release a card that is weaker than a last gen card for more money?

Considering the 3080 launched at $700, $800 for a 70TI is fucking stupid.

I hate Nvidia so much it’s unreal.

Not gonna lie I thought that this would be $900. I mean, I guess it still could be if I remember correctly there is no founders edition so who knows what the cards will come in at could end up being $900-$1000 for all we know

I'm exaggerating. It's a joke about how the naming convention is strange. It's weird having a 70-series that's 800 bucks and is going to crush any game you throw at it. Here, I'll do it again: At this rate my next upgrade will be to a 5030.

Do AIBs really price their lower tier cards to compete with the founders? I always figured founders weren't plentiful enough to really dictate pricing but I could be way off. Hoping there will be a bunch of Gigabyte Eagle, PNYs, Zotac Trinities, etc... right at MSRP like there are with the 4080/90. Although, given this launch is a comparative 'value' when put next the higher end cards, there's likely to be some shenanigans

Usually the Founders is at msrp, while the AiBs come in higher with the exception of maybe a model or 2. Since there’s no Founders, the msrp could be meaningless is what I was trying to convey.

On a different note going by the 3DMark suite scores, this thing really smashes the market for the 3090 and 3090 Ti, at least as far as gaming is concerned. You get a new card with 3090 Ti performance and FSR3 to boot. 3090 might be worth only $700 used if this comes in at $800.

You gotta love these fucking lobotomized fanboys. The card should be 500 USD at most. It's an x70ti ffs.

I don't care if it performs as well as a previous flagship, that should be the case, tech progresses over time, that's the joke.

My cellphone is faster than s supercomputer from the 90s, doesn't mean it should cost 500k...

These fanboys will justify a 4050 costing 400 USD just because it runs better than a $1k OG titan so "it's a steal"

Lol at people comparing it towards the 3000 series. Its a new generation pricing should be the same or lower not more.

Honestly feel like anybody defending these cards are just paid by Nvidia at this point. These cards cost barely any money to be made.
Case in point: the 7900xt is faster than a 3090 Ti on average at something like half the previous price. Still isn't a good deal is it?!
Massively ignores how small the gains were for a 3080 Ti and up were when comparing prices to a 3080.

Both companies are huffing the smoke from burnt out mining GPUs. None of this normal, especially not because Jensen says so. Even they choked a little when they realised 899 for this card with a xx80 sticker wasn't going to fly.

Anyone buying these products is perpetuating this pricing nonsense. So have fun with your fucked market. Reminder: You don't need a brand new GPU
Used market sucks so so much where I am.

Very curious how this will perform versus the 7900xt. The benches will be juicy.
I predict 7900 XT wins raster by 1-5% (basically trading blows) with the 4070 Ti winning in RT by 10-15% (via Techpowerup numbers whenever they go up).

That's the whole problem. people keep comparing those 4000 gpu's with 3080ti/3090/3090ti's all pointless products nobody cared for as there value was terrible. Ampere stopped at 3080 10gb value wise and that's just the reality when u compare prices.

Gen gumps are like 30-40% increase in performance normally. So that's what u should expect out of it. So that 4080 12gb aka 4070 should be aimed straight for the 3070 spot. That card released for 499 i believe ( already overpriced as shit ), so the price should be 499 at absolute best and that's already pushing it, 799 is a complete and utter joke, the 4080 should be aiming or 699 and the 4090 should target 899 at best or just call it a titan at this point and a halo product and ask 999 for it.

This is also why the AMD gpu's are all terrible value, non of them beat the 4080, and they cost a grand already. If these clowns at AMD would just release GPU's for normal prices with the 7900xtx 16gb at 699, and 7900xt at 499. U would see nvidia eat dirt the next day.

Instead those clowns jump straight along to the point i almost wonder they have some deal going with nvidia to give the idea to consumers there is competition but really there isn't. Who's going to spend 1k on a AMD gpu, yea nobody. It's a joke.

With DLSS 3 enabled, the GeForce RTX 4080 16GB is 27% faster than its 12GB sibling, and is 24% faster without DLSS 3 enabled. Also, the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti turns out to be 7% faster than the GeForce RTX 4080 12GB without DLSS enabled. Still, the GeForce RTX 4080 12GB is consistently faster than the original GeForce RTX 3080.

This card is still slower than the 3090 but none of the testing done was with Ray tracing on.

Dlss3 is the big changer here. 4070Ti my ass lol this is the 4080 that got canceled

This things going to fly off shelves, I suggest anyone contemplating buying it to not procrastinate.

The 4080 ridiculous pricing is going to help sell this.
