I still think House of the Dead Remake is a huge miss as a launch VR title as it stands currently.

Eh, that makes sense in theory, but lightgun shooters like HotD are a controlled experience which doesn't work if you can see around you or move the camera yourself. It spins suddenly, it moves when it wants to move and holds you there even when you are overwhelmed and want to retreat, it pops scares out of places that make no sense (how often is it that you turn around and suddenly a chainsaw monster is right behind you, how do you not notice chainsaws??), and it focuses the viewpoint very narrowly so that every play is a fair score attack.

That said, now that this developer has done a few of these games, a custom House of the Dead VR (even a remix with existing locations/creatures) could be fun.

Same for a Time Crisis (although in the meantime, check out Crisis Brigade/Vrigade...)

Can't wait for GT7 on VR. Last summer my son played in GTS on PSVR and was delighted. For few weeks we'll be playing in GT7 on PSVR2. I am very excited, because it will be my first VR set.
Besides I am going to buy Horizon and... Kayak, which looks stunning.

I’m excited that Rez Infinite is getting an upgrade. VR was the best way to play that game. So cool.

On a side note, WTF happened to this game:

That was a great follow-up to Rez and would be perfect for the Rez Infinite treatment

Wow, surprised Job simulator got ported. I figured with everything Justin Roiland is going through now that they'd cancel him and not bring it over.

Aaaand they're announcing a 10€ fee for each PSVR2 port of those smaller PSVR1 games.

Many of these games didn't even cost 10€ to begin with. Rez Infinite has been on sale for 9€ on the PSN Store.

Î'm glad I didn't pre-order.

Its literally only two games, there are 10 more that have free upgrades. Its up to the publishers whether they want to charge for it

Work harder.

Is thumper a free update as I have that on PSVR1.

No upgrade at all for thumper

Never played Tetris Effect or Rez…

Are they worth a buy?
Rez is pretty awesome. It’s an on-rails shooter (think something like StarFox or Panzer Dragoon) with a really cool visual style and soundtrack. It works so so good with VR because you lock on targets by looking at them instead of trying to move the reticule around with the analog stick.

It’s also pretty pleasant in VR because there’s not a lot of fast motion.
Ha ha the skeptical gt fans are in shambles 🤣
Love it
Or maybe just pleasantly surprised?

I kept the PS3 version around for the awesome stereoscopic 3D mode, but now I have no 3DTV so would pay good money for a VR version or PC port.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
As someone who gets insane motion sickness, watching these vr games being announced is burning my soul. It's the next level of gaming, but my brain says fuck you your not allowed.

You've probably heard this a million times before, but it's definitely a thing you can grow into. For me, VR started as a vomit comet, that made me feel shitty into the following day. Now I could ride a comet in VR and it wouldn't even phase me.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
VR starts when Sony says it does...

...even though you can play 95% of its games (and much more of the same or better caliber) on other platforms years now. Oh well, glad some folks finally see the light, even if it's fanboyism induced it will help VR overall for sure! Lol @ those personally offended going "no, u" (what company?)!

Or maybe high quality VR is now accessible to people that don’t have 1500+ computers and 1000+ worth of VR hardware
A ~$1200 PC + ~$400 VR is probably 90% there (missing things like eye tracking for now, which like 2 games use for menus though of course its use will expand as more devices get it, plus their own perks on top instead, like said hardware also having wireless/stand alone/handtracking & stuff).

Not exactly budget friendly on a $500 or much more PS5 (lol @ some Europrices) + $600 PSVR2 + higher prices for all the games, subscriptions for online and what not. You are just comparing 2 very expensive choices most people can't afford either way rather than one expensive vs one cheap.

The only question that now remains is: can I stick my arm out of the window in GT7 online to flip the bird? 😂
oh i've been dying for motion controller support / hands detection in the cockpit of cars so I can drive with one hand for a while now. Especially with an h-shifter.

LMAO you edited your post to sound even more like a sad individual.

Good luck with your negativity.

GT7 is probably the best incentive. Pretty strong launch lineup.

I still think it is too expensive.

Best lineup for a new device I have seen in a while.

I think it's actually kind of pathetic. Most of the games are just ports from existing games on the Meta/Oculus Quest. And out of the ones not already available on Quest, several of them are already available on PCVR.
If the value in PSVR lies in high quality exclusives, the list is pretty bad. If you want to play ports of shitty Quest games, then I guess you have a lot to pick from.

Meta Quest Games
PCVR
Not Available on Meta Quest or PCVR
  • Altair Breaker (Thirdverse)

I’ll stick with PC. Lots of old warmed over ports, and not enough big new titles. GT7 is really nice but Sony needs more titles like that.

I have both on PC, it’s the definitive way to play either IMO. Although don’t spend too much on Rez, it’s Rez. It’s a tech demo/art project.
