https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2022/12/16/inkulinati-is-coming-to-xbox-game-pass-on-january-31-2023/
All of us here at the Inkulinati Academy are thrilled to announce that our Inkulinati Masters along with their Beasts are coming to Xbox and Windows PCs with Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass as a day one release! All of the medieval superstars you would expect to see, such as Hildegard von Bingen, Sir Godrey, Dante, and even the strange Loony, are all featured in Inkulinati. Now, you’re probably thinking “Well, that’s all fine and everything, but what the heck is Inkulinati?” And that, my Liege, is a fantastic question. Let us explain. Inkulinati is a turn-based strategy in which a rabbit’s bum can be deadlier than a dog’s sword. You will fight other Inkulinati Masters on the pages of medieval books using guile, smarts, quills, and wits. Sounds interesting? Great! Let us tell you more.

The time for more details about Inkulinati will come. There is more news ahead, so stay tuned. Inkulinati will be available as part of Xbox Game Pass on your Xbox consoles (Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S) and Windows PCs via Xbox Game Preview program. What does that mean exactly? Well, over the next few months we will be working together with you, our community, on updates and changes to the game. We want to hear your feedback, comments, and ideas to make the best game possible! We hope that you will join us on this adventure together this January 31, 2023. Until then, join us in our Discord and keep your quills sharpened!

Xbox Game Pass, and PC Game Pass game preview.

I know people have been excited for this game, and now they can play it for free with a Game Pass sub.

Hey indie devs, we don't need this style to become a thing, just a heads up, it worked ONCE because tons of work and care was put into it.

The gameplay looks... I dunno, not great.

When Pentiment came out I'm like "wait, didn't this game already come out?" Then I realized Procession to Calvary was a different game. And now this one. Reminds of how sometimes two different movie studios will release nearly the same exact movie in the same year.

It's out and it's on gamepass. So, one of you gamepassers go try it and tell me if it's worth buying it.

Early Access. Pass for now, though does look good and the "reviews" already praise the gameplay depth.

I'm definitely trying it, and you're literally the only other person I've seen talk about it. So I will post some impressions tonight just for you sir.
Thank you, kind sir. But there's no rush since my gametime lately isn't too great.

Gross semplification: the "inkul-" part of its name resembles very closely "put it in the ass". Bonus: "nati" means "born".
Kinda sounds weird overall for us.

Weird to have this art style so soon after Pentiment but the preview looks fun. Where's this demo?

Its definitely cool. Feels unlike anything I've ever played. I dont know yet if its worth buying but I'm extremely happy its on GP. Art is great. Music is good. Everything just has a very relaxing and chill vibe. The battles so far are simple but fun. Im sure it keeps increasing in complexity. The UI is a little strange but worth sticking with until it makes sense. Not much of a real story at this point. Got a random live action cutscene for 20 seconds with actual actors in costume once lol. I still have no idea where this is really going but I'm invested enough to find out.

I'll probably buy this eventually but so far I do think its coasting like 80% on the novel presentation and art style. The battles are pretty slow and simplistic but can get strategic. No real story. Still a fun, very small game.

I lost a few battles, even on easy. It's almost like Steamworld Heist + Checkers. The push mechanic is just so huge that the positioning reminds me a bit (in an abstract way) of checkers. You can hop over obstacles and pieces and push anything and anyone near an edge off for instant kills.

I think you die after 3 deaths and have to start over, so it doesn't seem like it's built for a long, continuous journey or whatever. Almost more like a roguelike, with a few continues.
