Oh damn the patch is live.

Man i am dreading anomalies. Have to do so many just to unlock the slots and THEN get a +5 atk boost.

This should have been free instead of Velkhana

Well, I was pretty addicted to this, but think I might drop it. Just learned that I cannot play these stupid fucking (village) rampage quests in multiplayer. These are garbage quests that remind me of the WORST parts of recent Ys games. Wish I knew about this dumb shit beforehand, would have just skipped this game.

Skip the village and go straight to multiplayer. That’s what i did for my son and nephew.

You can play co-op rampage quests from the hub. As other user said, skip village.

Yep rampage is trash. There are only 2 or 3 mandatory story ones in village though, the rest can either be co-op'd or avoided altogether. Sunbreak got rid of them entirely, so it's just the base campaign where they exist. You could get the defender weapons and just go ham on monsters ignoring most of the tower defense shit and still be able to beat the mandatory ones. The easy way is to just hit the gongs when you're able to give yourself a massive DPS boost.

Does skipping the village stuff prevent me from progressing my character though? I've been doing the hub stuff, but it seems like village is the primary path through the game. It doesn't gate anything?

Ah, okay. I've solo'd a couple, they're not hard, I just think they completely suck and aren't fun. Good to know it's not a long term thing. I can force myself through a couple more.

You should feel special. This is the first thing I've ever recorded LOL.

Ahahaha. That was every bit as entertaining as I thought it would be. Thanks for the vid!

Man it'd be hard to resist joining newbie players' LR hunts and 1-shotting monsters left and right with that build.

I’ve somehow played this game for almost 100 hours now… seems impossible, but I’m pretty addicted to it. It has that “Eh, one more hunt” thing going on that can steal hours at a time. I think I prefer Monster Hunter World to this one, tbh, I kinda regret that I fell off that game. Nevertheless, this has been really fun. Unfortunately I wasn’t planning on spending so much time in it though, it’s kinda screwed up my game rotation.

I'm at around 850 right now. I imagine I'll hit 1000 given time. When I get bored I switch to a different weapon and I'm addicted all over again. I made a dual blades set for each element during the weekend and I'm currently practicing using them. Now I can't imagine going back to moving without Demon Mode. And Spiral Slash throwing out so many numbers at once is like crack. Berserk and Strife are pretty comfy too especially now that we can easily deco in Kushala Blessing. Then there's the Intrepid deco so your get out of jail card has it's own get out of jail card.

Thats what happened to me with MHW. 100+ hours with one weapon and then 100+ hours with another and then another and so on. I am liking MHR PS5 as well but wirebug is making it way too easy for both attack and defense but its a fun mechanic. I am already nearing HR200 and waiting for new content as all base game stuff is done and caught in talisman meld grind.

In World I tried to learn all the weapons, but here I've been 95% bow. I have paddles on my controller and I've remapped all the controls to basically never have to take my thumbs off the sticks... idk, I feel kind of invincible and like I probably broke the game. I don't think you're supposed to be able to play it like this lol. I'm still relatively low level and there's a high ceiling in MH, but I see no reason why these early advantages wouldn't scale.

PSVR2 right around the corner.... only so much free time. Don't know how long I'll stick with this, but it's been really fun and I'm glad I bought it. I don't even mind the rampages that much anymore (in multiplayer).

I have a controller with back buttons but I never bothered to program them lol. I should try it out one day. One button for doding and another for scroll swap.

I'm simultaneously having alot of fun and burning out. Basically just doing random hunts from the board one after another on the way to MR 100. I really want that MR 100 Switch Axe cause I'm too lazy to make elemental sets.

It's funny how I haven't touched HH for some time now despite maining it during the base game. Anyway, I can now say that I at least have a hundred hunts in each weapon and I'm still terrible at most of them. I really did not expect how much I've come to like Dual Blades. Spiral Slash dumping a huge amount of damage in a short time without any setup and Berserk letting you perpetually stay in Demon Mode while making you essentially immune to damage has really changed how I look at the weapon. But seriously, Spiral Slash gives me that nice feeling of a pierce ammo seeing lotsa numbers without the shame of playing a gunner.

Anyway, going to take a break until the next Title Update. I've pretty much been neglecting my backlog.

Looks like we're getting some balance adjustments? Weird to just be doing them NOW, but interesting.

I need someone who can sell me this expansion.

Do your best.

Gunlance is the best it has ever been in Sunbreak. It's going to be hard to lose all this stuff once the next game hits.

Guys there is some good high rank event mission to farm decos like the great jagras or the lavasioth one in world?
I'm not sure what you mean. Risebreak decos are crafted, not farmed.

Dafuq what?

So this is why i almost reached sunbreak and i don't have decos at all...

Fuck i'm gonna get used to this, i kinda loved the rng decos hunt.

Risebreak has RNG charms. Decos are just crafted directly from the smithy.
Charms are like those pendants you craft in world that goes liv1, liv2 etc. And you can only weat one of them right?

There are any good easy event where to farm those?

Shit why they changed method for the decos? I loved that doing any mission would guarantee you some decos and i was swimming in them, crafting them is way less fun and you just have less of them because you only get them by crafting and not from completing missions.

So now i have to use materials to craft weapons, armours AND decos?

I wouldn't worry too much about getting a good charm in the base game. It's technically possible to get the best (currently) possible charms in the base game already but it requires such ridiculous amounts of luck. Sunbreak adds more melding types that have better odds to give a decent charm at the cost of being able unable to craft the best possible one. TU5 is supposed to addingmore melding types so maybe it will actualy be feasible to create a god charm without needing massive luckor modding.

Also Sunbreak's endgame adds yet another layer of RNG in the form of armor augments. Essentially gacha for even more powercreep.

I'm a bit lost since i basically never used the crafting stuff in world nor rise so i barely understand what you say:lollipop_grinning_sweat:

I just know that i don't like this method at all, my "build brain" works better when i have pages of decos to chose over crafting everyone of them for specific purpose (it's hard to explain), almost 1000 hours with the mh worlds method did this to me:lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Unfortunately there's no equivalent in Risebreak where you farm a quest to get a ton of charms. You're going to have to craft. At least they have been making it easier to get a decent one with not that much effort.

I know that feeling of playing jigsaw with decos to get something just right in Worldborne. You won't get that in Risebreak unless you're on PC and get complete control of the augments via mods. There's a lesser experience where you try and make do with what augments RNG gives you but it's just not the same. Augments are kinda but not really like the Safi weapon system. You roll and roll and roll hoping for what you want to show up. There's a lot of depth in it if you're min-maxing as much as possible within legal limits but again that's really only with mods. You can still get some really good sets without that level of build min-maxing.

The expansion has a ton of resource sinks. But you don't really have to worry about augments until endgame. My memory is a bit fuzzy, I think you don't even get access to it until endgame. I'm quite sure augments were released in a title update and not part of the original release. Most people probably don't even bother much with it since the grind and RNG is crazy. People that say Worldborne's deco grind is worse are liars.

That said I'm addicted to powercreep and augments put Fatalis armor to shame. It's crazy how powerful hunters can be and TU5 isn't even out yet.

Been having a blast this past week or so playing MHR on my PS5. Glad they brought it out for the consoles, can't stand the Switch's crappy hardware tech.

Excited for Sunbreak as well once it hits the consoles. I prefer playing MH games purely solo. They're more challenging that way and fun for me. I hit HR 30 last night and about to fight Kushala Dora for the first time.

I had someone tell me, that in MP the monsters defense are higher cause it scales for multiple people so it makes harder. While that may be partially true, regardless of how high the defenses are when you have 4 people whaling on something it just feels like your being carried all the time and I hate it.

I don't care how high the defenses are, you have people who are just constantly doing damage while the monster is focusing 1 target. It's literal easy mode, I am convinced that person is just trying to downplay my solo successes lol.

I'm far from a power creeper so i should not have many problems, i just hate this systwm over world system, it make me want to look at build guides to know exactly what to craft over just looking at what i have to make a build (again, hard to explain).

Speaking of decos, they just stealth dropped a few that's coming in TU5. Finally getting that Spare Shot level 4 deco that I've been waiting for.

This game's networking has gone to shit on PS5 last couple of days.

I told myself I'll hold off playing again until TU5 but I got a new toy and just had to try MH on it. 60fps with 2 hour battery life or 40fps with 3.5 hours. Really impressed that it can maintain that 60 pretty well but it drains battery like crazy, roughly ~25w compared to what you see in these screenshot. Definitely a downgrade compared to my actual PC but very impressive for a portable.

That said, I don't think the Deck is going to be able to handle MH6 unless it's also a Switch game as well.

I've put about 170 hours in this now. Definitely well into endgame. I have mixed feelings on the game overall, especially how it really does feel like a smaller scale game compared to World.

However my biggest complaint is probably those fucking health/stamina birds. What a terrible idea. They should have allowed some kind of crafting solution for endgame.

Also recently went back to World (have a 300 hour save) just to freshen my memory... holy crap it looks bad compared to Rise. Rise is simple and small, but it's extremely clean, and runs at 120 fps... makes a huge difference. Started a fresh World character just to recall how all the systems work. There's some QoL stuff I'm really missing from Rise. But World feels like a AAA game.

Idk... it's been interesting to compare them. Still shocked by how gross World looks lol. It has far superior art direction, but pure ass for IQ. Lol

What system are you playing world on?
MHW looks far better than Rise no contest on pc; the fatalis fight alone blows away anything in rise.
PS5. It's super jaggy and blurry. Apparently it's 4K60 if you have the graphics mose selected? Idk... it looks like ass. But I've been staring at Rise's clean 4K120ish for many, many hours recently. World is pretty fuzzy in comparison.

Interesting. I didn't think visually anybody preferred Rise to World, other than better weapons/armor models.

PC version has a free high res texture download separate from the game, maybe ps5 has it too?

Actually not a bad update for me. It wasn't Luna, so it's all good news. Ol' Buff Body armor is back in too.
Too early to really tell how the fight's going to be. Maybe it's fun enough that the lack of a unique arena would make up for it. I'm just disappointed since Kulve, Safi, Alatreon and Fatalis got arenas specially tailored for them. Well, Safi and Alatreon had to share but still.
