Wait, did you just compare monthly players with daily players? No wonder it always sound you're making up numbers out of thin air.
Nope. Add the numbers up both ways. Daily players vs daily players or monthly players vs monthly players. Multiplayer wins out at the same rate ~94:6 in both brackets.
Mixed breed MP+SP is the future.
What big MP+SP games are coming out over the next year and a half?
You deny that position because a very small selection of MP exclusive games happened to gain tons of success, but you keep refusing to look at the whole picture and pulling out numbers out of nowhere, usually to claim shit like Pax Dei is the future.
Just name a smattering of big upcoming multiplayer games that have a SP component. Again, I like to be proven wrong. I'll cede this point if you can adequately defend your position.

Quite the opposite. SP games are harder to make (though that depends on a ton of factors), but much much easier to sell as you don't need to rely on an active player base.
David Jaffe is on record saying MP is harder to make because you can't script human behavior. Don't ask me to find the video. Just assume I'm speaking in good faith.
And a correction. Big publishers aren't investing more in multiplayer, they're investing more in GAAS. And not any GAAS, specific breeds of it as GAAS can come in many forms. Usually single player titles with some PvE and PvP components.
99% of GAAS are multiplayer.

Also, name the big upcoming games that feature both SP + MP.

Yep, turns out you were.

Baldurs gate 3, Redfall and Diablo IV out of the top of my head.

I just did.

Predicting player behaviour is just one of many things that go onto making a game.

Nop. 99% of GAAS have a multiplayer component to them, but they aren't exclusively multiplayer most of the time. Most MMOs are like that just to give an example

I did a couple of quotes ago.

I guess you sorta changed my position here. It does seem like the majority of upcoming MP titles have a SP component.

It will be interesting to see how that trend changes over time.

Made a crappy phPBB forum once ... once.
I don't play multiplayer because I'm not as quick as these kids and their reflexes and don't want to be the whipping boy (i.e shit)

Don't mind PvE but PvP can't deal with it. Guess I've missed out on a lot over the years.

Same with FIFA, Forza, Gran Turismo etc.

This problem is being solved relatively quickly in todays multiplayer games. You're going to see a ton of MP games that appeal to slow twitch gamers in the coming years.

I'd play more if the SBMM lobbies were done faster. I dont care playing against randoms or SBMM lobbies, but SBMM lobbies take way longer to load up and I want to play against the same people as long as possible if it's a good group of people. Even though I play against randoms 95% of the time, its cool to play 5 or more matches in a row where you kind of know after a match or too which user names are good/bad, sniper dude, run and gunner guy etc... You kind of get acquainted with everyone's game style.

Playing against new people every match, you have no idea who is who or who does what.

Makes zero sense that after a single match everyone gets reshuffled away unless you're partied up with friends.

The old COD lobbies playing with the same people were lightning quick to get into a lobby, and start the next match. It just seemed faster.
