Ashley's Ballistics Removed from Resident Evil 4 Remake

No it's not? Updates to the gameplay and controls, new approach to the story, new enemies, new areas, new weapons, etc. There's more to remaking a game than just it's graphics.

Sure but that doesn't mean you can't. I also bought a high end PC to play games on Ultra. Doesn't mean I won't buy and enjoy games that don't have cutting edge graphics.
Graphic is the main thing, the controls, story etc. are gonna be 90% similar, the game is not gonna play like the division or gears, it's still gonna have re4 dna for the most part.

And i have the game in preorder since black friday, but the fact that i'm buying the game doens't mean that i can't criticize it.

The face model is fine, and the skirt (skort?) looks ok from the front, but from behind you can tell it's just shorts, so it looks bad, imo. They do make skorts that still look like skirts ya know. Lightning in 13-1 wears them, and so does Tifa in 7R. It's not as good as a full skirt, but it's better than this weird half skort theme capcom seems to be so interested in lately with re3 and now this.

The deep irony of all of this is that the original is more empowering to women.

What exactly was wrong with a woman standing up for herself in the face of being objectified?

So now we just have to pretend objectification doesn't happen at all anymore in 2023 compared to in 2005?

Nah it's still very much here.

Those are empowered women on instagram XD Not afraid to show the progress they made by squatting non-stop at the local gym.

What does ballistics mean in this instance? I'm innocent asf. Explain to me like I'm 5 years old.
Missiles. He thinks she's got two heat seekers under her jumper. Originally the plot had Ashley transporting some secret weapons for the CIA - Umbrella were said to have infiltrated all levels of government and so Ashley was the only person who could be trusted.

The original line recorded by the actor was

"I see the President's sent his daughter with the ballistic missiles, good, I can't wait until they're loaded and equipped to my zombie killing jet"

But that plot was cut and so they cut a lot of the words and moved a few around so it sounded like he was talking about her tits.

As usual, the remake version is much better.

1. Ashley's ballistics are still in the game and the physics too, but though the line is reworked, I like it best because it gives off a subtle vibe that Luis is a ladies man but without the uncalled mention of the first thing he notices and totally disrespects Ashley as a human being and thus treats her as to be objectified and fetishized. Though that's just that one scene and since Luis does appear to stick around much later into the game than before, it may be possible for him to see Ashley without her jacket on and make his statement about her ballistics. Since just like Leon, his jacket does eventually come off, so too does Ashley's at some point though I'm not sure if she actually finds or retrieves her jacket again unlike Leon. Dag Leon, that was a cool jacket too, lol.

2. Ashley still very much defends herself upon meeting Luis for the first time as his first impression isn't a, "Hello, my name is Luis Sera, and your name is?" Instead he just calls her a senorita which isn't necessarily the worst greeting but definitely wasn't a proper greeting. Which Ashley does correct him in saying she has a name and it's Ashley. In the original scene Luis is much more rude and then gaslights her into giving her name to him first, lol. Also in the original scene he knows Leon's name but in this remake it appears they briefly met before but didn't tell their backstories to each other yet. In fact, Leon questions who Luis even is and what's he doing there; which in the original he does also question what is Luis is doing there but knows his name and who he is at that point. So it's good to see that Leon and Luis will have time to get to know each other over the course of the game (hopefully most of the game) than the original.

3. Why are there complaints about Ashley wearing a skort? (There was more I had written but decided against it but I already know the answer to this rhetorical question.)

The gameplay shown so far looks really good, the graphics are amazing and what has been shown of some changes to the storyline and how it happens differently is thus far well done. I also like how Ashley can climb down the ladder herself instead of always jumping into Leon's arms like she's incapable of handling a ladder. Though I wouldn't mind if they add that in the game in a moment where time is of the essence, then it would be used where it makes sense. Just jump. I notice they show very little of Ada which isn't too surprising as she is all secretive and behind-the-scenes anyway but I wonder what changes have they done with Leon x Ada run ins. I remember this is also the first time Leon has seen Ada since the RC incident and she was presumed dead but after researching apparently he found out she somehow was alive. I wonder if that too will make it into the storyline or happen differently? I can't wait for RE4 to release, I'm absolutely loving these well made with attention to detail and with love REmakes.

To be honest, who cares? I just want to enjoy the damn game, and this takes nothing away from the fun experience.

Why would anyone be offended over the mention of tits anyway?

In that case, every movie has to be tame from now on. Nothing crude allowed.

Because it looks awful? They could've just made it a skirt with shorts under it but instead they went with some horrible shorts in the back skirt in the front abomination.

Well, Ada is supposed to have a red dress. Removing that just feels wrong. I heard that how they do things with Ada's parts now is totally different. So that would be the reason.

A lot of Ada fans won't be too pleased.

It would have been a neat touch if they had included some good context for the red dress to appear in the new game, like Salazar or Saddler inviting her to dinner to discuss a deal with Wesker.

I am not certain that Ada and Krauser even meet in the remake.

Maybe that was all changed as well. But then it may contradict their relationship with Wesker, as Krauser wasn't that sure of Ada. If they do DLC, maybe this will offer transparency.

I really don't get why Capcom has to change the storylines with these remakes, which just adds to the confusion. And I heard things are totally gone in this version.

I mean, she is wearing a red dress. I guess you could call it mauve, or plum? Maybe a little bit too much blue in there for ya?

I don't know anything about how they handle her story stuff though.

I really do prefer the original, even if 4 was the game that I grew to gripe about, because it sort of kickstarted Capcom wrecking the series. Although I guess 5 did it worse, since Wesker finally died in that one, and not having Wesker any more in the franchise certainly sucks. But 4 was when the franchise just changed into what was then called the new direction.

Now Capcom's direction is all over the place. LOL!

It was hinted at in Umbrella Corps that Wesker is still alive.

I think Wesker was cloned. This kind of explains why the BSAA was using bioweapons in RE8, and one looked like Chris.
Wesker being alive or dead isn't the actual problem. The problem is that the writers couldn't figure out how to incorporate a new charismatic big bad afterwards. RE 6, Revelations 2, RE 7, the three CGI movies, and RE 8 all kind of failed at this.

I don't know. Jack Baker is one of the best villains the RE series has ever seen. He may not have stuck around long enough to qualify as a "big bad", but... he was bad, and he was, eventually, big.

Sorry I should have clarified. I don't mean one and done villains like Nemesis, Mr. X, or Jack Baker. I meant actual long lasting franchise villains, like Wesker, Akuma, Nobunaga, Sigma, Vergil, etc.
