I think I pretty much summed up the original (which incidentally is in my top 3 goat) in my post.

Fuck her mental health and avenging her dead father or whoever, just find the scion in a near empty world, jump across 40 foot wide chasms two hundred foot above the ground, tombs puzzles and a bit of action every 20 minutes 🧐

That's exactly what I want again.

Yeah , the 1st game had such a wonderful plot and script . Right up there with Jackie Chan's Armour Of God...

.

Fucking nerfed she is.
At least she didn't get the Star Wars Outlaws treatment!

Thank fuck. She actually looks like herself again. Reboot Lara is objectively hot, and more my type tbh, but she never felt like Lara Croft. This is MUCH better.

Needs slightly bigger boobs tho. Yes, that's important to the plot.

I'd play a Tomb Raider game with that dude from Baby Steps if the gameplay was finally not Uncharted A-For-Awesome shit.

You said it.

That absolutely horrible "press X for awesome shit" that the Uncharteds introduced (or rather, normalized) is really stuff for the absolute lowest common denominator, it wasn't fun, it wasn't engaging, you just sat there mashing X on every platform section with Drake saying "oh no no no" and "oh shiiit" and watch the environment crumble around you, it was absolutely predictable, braindead stuff (and still is).

Mind you, the "hop once backwards and then press forward and jump +grab" grid-based system of the Tomb raiders of yore feel archaic by today's standards and something which the 1st TR reboot/remake (Anniversary) managed to balance well, so, hope it's an evolution of that 'cause man, if we go back to the Uncharted-like systems of the reboot trilogy with mash X for awesome and yellow paint everywhere...yeah.

Cautiously optimistic. I'm glad it's not the open world game that was rumoured. Crystal Dynamics needs an easy win after a decade of mediocrity.

This is what remakes are perfect for. They remind people of why they loved a series and it also encourages new players to give it a chance. It's like pushing the reset button on a franchise, an opportunity to go back to basics.

Is this slated for TGA announcement? The limited blurred screenshots seem promising. If it ends up being like Uncharted, I'm day one, lol.

Do you guys think it will be possible to use the photo mode in the game and move the camera so close that you can see the inside of her shirt and consecutively her boobs?

She looks feminine?

Wait, is this 2025.

How did this get greenlit? Aren't we so progressive that feminity in character design is problematic? Didn't women fight for the right to have fictional females look like men?

Some pics she looks ok but that render at the top with Atlantis writing she looks like she would take me up the arse with a strap on

These are all just pics of her lesbian vegan lover, Aral.

We don't know what Lara looks like yet ... >image of fat Aloy here<

Replaying the old ones recently gave me an even bigger appreciation for how killer the platforming in them was. I'd argue that while the actual format is archaic and obviously can't be stuck into a modern game, I wish they'd find a creative way to replicate the feeling of actual human heaviness and danger inherent in the platforming in those games. I know she feels like a bit of a tank but there's this heft to it that I love. It feels closer to hurling a 150lbs body across a gap than any modern game has imo.

I mean I'm no dev so what the fuck do I know but replaying them, it's actually some of my favorite platforming in gaming because of how heavy and methodical it feels without being complicated. Rant over.
