Nothing about the trailer for that game or the info released seemed like anything the core PlayStation audience wanted. It felt like a business suit hired a name they heard had recognition and directed them to make a product. It felt very "business-y business" in a way PlayStation is usually not.
I don't know what state the game is in, but first impressions and word of mouth are everything these days. Given what happened to Concord, Foam Stars, and Highguard as recent examples, I would think the lesson is pretty obvious: If your core audience is shitting all over a new game on the first trailer, and you don't have some way to pivot hard, what are you expecting? It seems unreasonable to just press ahead and hope the narrative flips.
Has anyone at PlayStation said anything about this game other than the announcement that Raymond had left the studio last year? Has it just been radio silence since the original trailer?
