This does not bode well for Gears E-Day...man.
Resident evil 4 was like a 20 year old game when the remake came out and sold 16 million copies so far. And the prior version was ported more times than Halo was....because everyone in the world has already played it. It's a 24 year old game.
Also already remade a few times, including being packaged into MCC. The PC version of MCC was released so long ago it was before covid. This new Halo remake doesnt even include MP either....because everyone in the world has already played it. It's a 24 year old game.
No. You need to have a MSFT account and sign-in for a mandatory download to play it for the first time.

LMAO at the user tags - You're playing a LGBTQ+ game papiGonzito
Played a few hours and it doesn't hold a candle to the Assassins Creed Black Flag remake - Gameplay just doesn't hold up for me
Pretty much. Even as a massive Halo fan, I can't justify paying another $50 for the same game that is remastered/remade for the second time. I've beaten Halo CE hundreds of times, so it's not exactly moving the excitement meter for me. I will still play on Game Pass later, but I won't pay full price. This is the third version of the same game.
I think people are tired.
Never been a Halo gamer. This is the third version of the same game.
I think people are tired.
Plus there a new moon as well. Oh, and it's mid-summer. Plus GTA6s trailer 3 is out next week. The game launched officially on a Tuesday. A game that is 25 years old- a new remake with the core audience being 27+ years of age.
You know age group of people who work a job, have a family with kids, etc. People who game on the weekend if time permits lol.
You guys can do your song and dance about halo being dead, but a single player only title being launched on a Tuesday only having 25K players on 1 / 3 platforms is somehow bad?
clearly RE4 is way more popular than a basic FPSResident evil 4 was like a 20 year old game when the remake came out and sold 16 million copies so far. And the prior version was ported more times than Halo was.
i mean clearly i'm right- as we are here as adults arguing on the internet instead of playing the game and arguing on the internet.Plus there a new moon as well. Oh, and it's mid-summer. Plus GTA6s trailer 3 is out next week.
Iykyk
Companies need to be more open about how many players overall they have, regardless of how high it is. Cuz this is just….I cant stand this steam player charts era
What I'm saying here is that games people actually rush to play will not get shit sales on Steam because of Gamepass.Who gives a fuck about all of this ??
This is about the idea of should i spend a 70$ to play the single-player game once or twice. or 15$ an option for a month and be done with it ?
Why the fuck do you mention Steam vs Xbox app? None of the shit you mentioned above matters if the objective is to play a single-player game in the cheapest possible way, assuming the gamer is honest and doesn't crack it before the game is even released.
My whole post was about big single-player games like this shouldn't be on Game Pass day one. no where it say it shouldn't be on Xbox day one or Steam day one. Both stores will get shit sales when Game Pass is available to play the game.
We might not get a chance for another Halo game because of low sales BECAUSE of gamepass. nothing to do with steam or xbox app. way to miss the point my man.
I will always die on the hill that Halo could have and should have ended with 3. Even Reach was pushing it, but at least you can tell there was still passion left from Bungie, even if they wanted to move on.Not shocked, this IP is fucking dead.
Halo is a bigger "name" then it actually is a presence in the actual market. I've told people this that i teach about marketing all the time, JUST cause you KNOW Pac Man and its recognizable, doesn't mean that translates in to actual hard sales.
This IP has been beat into the ground and just forced fed to consumers. With how much Halo has failed, it makes me respect that Naughty Dog didn't make that Jak 4 game, if you have no real great idea for it, leave it behind.
Its ok to let it go folks. Look at all the IP during that 2002 time frame, how many of them TODAY are you fond of that legit would purchase as a new entry? Not every title is evergreen and MS the most seem to think they got a stable of them and seem to ignore like flop after flop. Even Forza had to be "Horizon" for it to find continued success, to the point of no more Forza Motorsport titles.
Could have made a Switch version too. Easy money. Not putting MCC on PlayStation was certainly a decision
I don't think this is the gotcha you think it is.
I've played the Mass Effect franchise, which is openly LGBTQ+ inclusive, and it's one of my favorite game series. I loved Baldur's Gate 3 too.
The difference is that I don't have a problem with LGBTQ+ content existing. I have a problem when it feels forced or starts lecturing the player instead of serving the story. As long as it's written naturally and fits the world, I couldn't care less.
I haven't seen anything in Halo: Campaign Evolved that crosses that line, so there's no reason for me to skip it and I say this having played the campaign fron the beginning till the end
And Halo is just begging to be great again but sadly it may never be
I was just joking with you. Just made me laugh that people had tagged it that way.
Its so funny when they compare this game with RE remakes.Resident evil 4 was like a 20 year old game when the remake came out and sold 16 million copies so far. And the prior version was ported more times than Halo was.
This is the third version of the same game.

Halo was always more marketing and hot air than anything else. There were several shooter as good or better around on consoles back in 2001/2. Medal of Honor Frontline and Timesplitters 2 just to name two.Halo might have been revolutionary for console players back in the day, but I don't think the franchise has anything relevant to offer to PC players.
To be fair, that water didn't do shit in OG Halo as well. You could drive the Warthog underwater like its nothingThats the worst underwater camera filter I have seen.
It's always the same with this guy. Posting completely useless metrics without context. From Mat Pescadera himself:

Being first place on PSN in a random week doesn't mean jack shit. It doesn't tell us anything about the sales or the revenue and certainly nothing about the budget of the game or Microsoft's sales expectations.
They fired all the people that knew how to work with that engine, that's why they are switching to Unreal. Halo Studios now is just a revolving door of contractual devs who work exclusively with UE5.Not putting MCC on PlayStation was certainly a decision
But the players didn't have to look at that shitty underwater filter. To be fair, that water didn't do shit in OG Halo as well. You could drive the Warthog underwater like its nothing
Nevertheless, the re-remake of CE looks soulless and empty, typical UE5 showcase material that, at first glance seems impressive for a minute, but on closer inspection, in my opinion, is superficial and leaves no lasting impression. Shallow stuff I'll gladly pass. But the players didn't have to look at that shitty underwater filter.
