A Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild player Uses Glitches To Reach Impossible Treasure Chest

Reddit user vohnandrew managed to reach Hateno Village's impossible chest using a series of clever maneuvers and a combination of Link's Rune abilities. In a video, the player could be seen jumping into the air and clipping through the ground on Hateno village's path. Once they completely sunk through the ground to reach the underside of the map, they used the paraglider to reach a flat area of the mountain near a body of water. From there, the player used Cryonis cubes to jump over to a waterfall in the distance. Finally, using Magnesis, they pulled the chest out from behind the waterfall to collect a purple rupee, worth 50 of the game's ubiquitous currency.

Man this reminds me of the crazy exploration of warthog jumping in Halo CE. That's awesome. Hopefully BOTW2 has tons of secrets like this to find.

Pretty neat how 'playable' the game still seems to be even though you clip through the ground. At least in the first video where they use cryonis on the water.

I would have thought it'd just be empty/dark space.

They really need to give back some meaning to treasure chests. Rather than having thousands of them scattered around a huge empty world, maybe having only a few of them with some interesting content ?

The dopamine hit of many small chests has probably been calculated to be better than a few more significant ones. Why else are there NINE HUNDRED koko seeds or whatever? They gotta coat that damned map.

Ironically this shows why it's easily the best open-world game from a gameplay perspective. The sense of freedom, exploration, and experimentation for the player is unparalleled. Accomplishing something never felt better in an open world.

It's the ultimate "Hey, alright." But it's still always so cool to see stuff like this. Especially when it's someone going above and beyond and they don't really get much in return. Well, other than the satisfaction of pulling it off, haha.

It's always insane how people figure this shit out, it's always so wtf?

The real impossible chest is under the ice in Majora’s Mask. The ground it’s on isn’t solid and it’s only “accessible” on the springtime map that is technically different.

You can also immediately enter the Trial of the Sword by doing the same thing after pulling the Master Sword.

This unorthodox technique in Breath of the Wild might actually give you a workout... or carpal tunnel.

In the video above, we explain how this technique works and why it works so well. And its ability to break world records of speed killing a gold lynel (Without ancient arrows). Combining a glitch while mounted with motion controls creates an unorthodox technique that holds the spirit of Skyward Sword controls, and destroys enemies quickly.

Breath of the Wild's newest discovery, BLSS, or Bow Lift Smuggling Slide, is the best long distance travelling technique in the entire game.

In the video above, we explain how to perform BLSS for yourself at home, and the origin story of how it was first found. Its combination of multiple glitches together created one of the most useful techniques in a game all about traversing the world. Get a glimpse of us flying from one corner of Hyrule to the other in just 4 minutes with this new game breaking glitch.

Memory Storage is one of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's most complex glitches allowing you to get the Bow Of Light and start a new game with all of your equipment. But is it found by luck, skill, or knowledge? We explain how complicated glitches are discovered.

Zelda BOTW has had another amazing year of discoveries. Max takes Zelda fans through some of the best glitches of 2021, including one that gives you 80,000+ arrows and others that provide a new way to fly, the ability to lift heavy objects, and even a first-person mode!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is said to release in 2022. But while we wait, Max--aka RinHara5aki--is still going strong with the original Breath of the Wild, covering both Things You STILL Didn't Know In Zelda Breath Of The Wild and amazing exploits and glitches found by the community. In this video, we’re covering the most impactful finds of 2021.

In January, players continued to build on the Memory Storage glitch, finding a way to allow players to have 80,000 arrows. They also discovered Yiga Blademasters could be made to pull the Master Sword out of its pedestal. In March, players sorted out how to play the game from a first-person perspective and how to lift extremely heavy objects.

June was a huge month, with discoveries ranging from finally getting to an impossible-to-reach chest, to placing bombs inside objects and finding better ways to duplicate objects using Octoballoons. In September, players had figured out new ways to speedrun the game by moving through the world without using stamina. By the end of the year, glitch hunters had even sorted out how to get rid of the Sheikah Slate entirely, proving Link’s mind powers are enough to use rune abilities.
