PC keeps on winning. Nice way to bump the fps.

Seems QUALITY mode does a very good job and looks almost identical to native.

I'm not enjoying the stealth in this one, which is strange, because on paper it should be fine and a big improvement over the prequel. My biggest gripe is that I feel like you lack options to survey your environment and make your planning beforehand. Some stealth scenes are big and mazelike, and sometimes I find myself going in the wrong direction being unsure of the way to progress, or being discovered by a patrol I couldn't possibly know was there. I mean, I hate detective vision as much as anyone else, but if you don't have something like that you really need exceptional level design and I don't think it's good enough here. There is also some lack of traversal clarity (i.e. invisible walls or impassable waist-height barriers) which is understandable because the visuals are insanely detailed everywhere, but still...

The good thing is that checkpoints are so frequent you essentially lose no progress when caught, so it's not a big issue. Running past enemies is also surprisingly effective.

[Edit: there *is* detective vision, but IMHO it doesn't fix the lack of options to plan ahead or unclear traversal, so I think my point still remain]

Decided to continue to where you first spot the rats.

Took DLSS 2.0 VS 3.0 screens. HDR off this time.

2.0

3.0

It's as maxed as you can get (4k res)
Holy hell! More than double of the framerate!!!

edit: but the avg is lower. What is happening there?

edit2: 70 ºC with 3% CPU usage? Are you literally in hell?

Random complaint, when you make me have a sidekick or companion or whatever...dont put them in the centr of the screen. When you are walking with the dumb little boy, it kinda slides you to the left side of the screen and the kid in the middle even though you control the girl...kinda annoying

Circumstance of when I took the screen. I let the average go down without it and it was coming up with it on. I took the screens mere seconds apart. CPU usage, not sure there but it's definitely been more GPU bound. Progressing through chapter 2 now and lots of rats and I'm sure I haven't seen the most intense areas.

DLSS 3.0 makes a giant difference though.

EDIT

CPU is average of all core usage.

There is detective vision though.

But I don't disagree. They have a few of these large open stealth areas that I don't understand, if you go straight, you usually get to the end right away and can get past them very quickly, but you want resources, so you explore, but that usually puts you in harm's way and you end up just using resources instead.

What bothers me is that the options for taking out the guards suck. I wish we got the crossbow and "recover bolts" option right away, it helps a lot toward the end and makes things more fun.

Yes, I stand corrected, as I unlocked it shortly after writing the comment. I thought stealth would improve for me with it, but unfortunately I'm still not having fun with it. It may be an issue of dissonance between navigation/sight meshes and visuals, because the rules are never clear to me. And as you say, the design of stealth areas is weird and you often feel punished for exploration.

In any case, the game is a great experience with many highlights outside the gameplay, so I'm still enjoying it quite a lot.

Care about "teams"? Nope....that's all you. Why are you coming at me with all this warrior bullshit anyway? I posted a gif celebrating this games review score. That's it.
So your some type of victim here? All I said were you weren’t an Xbox fan. That’s it. And it’s a fact.

What's your take on 30fps only for next gen? Did that affect your final review score? Pretty poor showing if you ask me.

Is Ray Tracing at least included for XsX and PS5?
If FPS impacts the game in some way I will bring it up, like so noticeably detracts as to make it bad all by itself or fucked me up I would lower the score if it was so bad that I felt a buy went to a wait for sale.
I have no issue with some games being 30. I do want 60 of course. But I am not going to wish for something I know is never ever going to happen.

Playing this game at 1080p with Low-Medium details and can't believe how good it looks.

Big fan of Innocence, really nice so far, looks like it's M rated like the first one, but seems to me is a bit more mature and gritty, which I very much like.
What I'm not a fan is of the forced walking or slow running sections, really hoped they ditched this mechanic.
Also the talking, now I like a character who speaks, but not about what I should do, like shut the fuck up Amicia, let me play. Maybe they could put an option to turn off hints conversations.

A joke. Because I know you’re not an Xbox fan.

Fair enough. Seemed like some weird dig at the time, but I suppose I could have misread it. All good.

But for the record, C Corndog , just because I'm a bigger fan of PlayStation doesn't mean I don't like Xbox. I actually do, particularly Game Pass and MS Rewards. You will find no bigger fan on GAF for that combination than me.

It looks pretty smooth @74hz with half vsync via nvidia inspector:

Looks pretty good too, I thought the cuts were FMV but you can actually move around in photo mode :messenger_open_mouth:

It’s so annoying that there is not FSR 2.1 support. Is it because it’s an Nvidia “partnered” or whatever? I saw the logo on the splash screen.

You would think everyone would be implementing FSR since the consoles support it but no?

Hold on I missed the whole page of comments lol

game is this weird mixup of AA and AAA.
environments and vistas look great, character models, animations are extremely stiff and dated.

im enjoying it as i liked first one as well, but barely any improvements on gameplay side either so far.

Great game so far but the performance is trash tier... Small team and All I get it but still.

Also loads of bugs.
Holy fuck. Level 2 is the buggiest mission in any game ever. If you do one thing wrong it fucks up the entire level and then you have to cheap ass your way through it. My ability to run went away and it kept telling me to craft shit. Then I couldn’t walk up stairs.

This game is beautiful on PS5. 40fps/120hz feels great when the framerate is actually locked at 40fps. Hopefully they make it stable with updates and I wouldn't really mind not having 60fps.

If I'd write Code like this I think I would be fired the next day.

It's a big mess.

You don't see all the green rats in people's avatars? Either way.....who cares? Go play games.
What a grifter, the salt is strong huh. Can't imagine in a few years, the tears when all you got is sonys cinematic experiences.

Salt.....about what? Are you ok? You seem confused.

Well, you would in fact have to use your imagination since I game on Xbox, Switch, PC, and PS5. My recent post from the "What game are you currently playing?" thread:

XSX- Still plugging away at Ocotpath Traveler. On chapter 3. I'm having to grind a bit though.
Switch - Played some demos for Triangle Strategy and Metroid Dread. Think I've settled on playing Luigis Mansion 3 for now. It is fun. Definitely coming back to Triangle Strategy though.
PS5 - Nothing. Waiting on God of War. Everything else takes a back seat for a bit once Ragnarok is here.
PC - A Plague Tale is downloaded, but not sure if I'll get to it before GOW.

In the river at the start, if you go into photo mode and below the floor, the rocks look like a massive asteroid field, it surprises me that an i3 12100 can handle that at 60fps. The rats level is also pretty impressive and did not tank my performance at all... Maybe its a configuration thing.
