What games are on Android and not iOS? I've been iOS-only for a while, but I'm probably gonna get the new Nexus 7 when it comes out, if only to finally try out Android. I know Ikagura is one, but are there any other notable games?

Entered the thread, thinking it was the OG Android gaming thread. Was going to recommend you make a thread dedicated just for this. Good to see you took my advice. It was good advice, indeed.

Edit:
You should have weekly / monthly recommendations in the OP. Nice job, by the way.

Nice job on the OP. I would add to the list one of these shmups: Blazing Star, R-Type, Ikaruga (which is Android-exclusive for now). Also, emulators like Tiger Arcade; being able to play Third Strike on my phone was nothing short of amazing!

Is anyone on the beta for Star Command for Android? How's it look? Does it still need a lot of fixing or do we think it'll be good to go next week?

Think Knights of Pen and Paper, Rayman Jungle Run and Where's My Water have been the only games I've truly enjoyed (and wouldn't have preferred on a dedicated handheld).

I definitely recommend them.

Cytus
best $2 (or free, if you're willing to wait for several seconds each time you play) I've ever paid on Google Play. It also has an interesting business model

New |OT|, yay.

I'm playing Stealth Bastard these days. Nice little stealth/platformer, although it's not on Google Play (yet?) unfortunately, after being introduced in the latest Humble Bundle. People who are in for some good old finger-tap grinding must also check Knights of Pen and Paper.

Thank you guys for the feedback and suggestions. Will definitely look into doing some sort of weekly/monthly recommendations. Ash has volunteered his services and we should have banners soon. Make it easier to read and navigate the op.

Ash brought up sorting the games by genres. Is that something you guys think would be better? My rationale for doing by price, was because I also listed genres. This way, a person could search the page via the specific genre and another person could easily view everything by price.

Pm me or post your thoughts here.

By price is a neat way to arrange considering that one can always Ctrl+F their way to a genre, I suppose. Still, I think price in not always indicative of the game's quality, length or anything, and since the biggest division is between Free, < 7 bucks and > 7 bucks, there may be a more useful way to categorize games.

Another idea is making categories as per the game's scope. For example, 'Quick Bits' would contain the likes of [sic] Angry Birds or Temple Run, while 'Core Games' or something would accommodate games like Chaos Rings and R-Type. A common complain about Play Store is that it still lacks labels akin to AppStore's 'Big-Name Games' and the like, and we could use this thread for that.

Riptide GP and Riptide GP 2 should be on every capable android device
Yep, Riptide is great, albeit simplistic. I haven't played the sequel, does it add more depth? We should GAFsemble for some multiplayer action!

yes, a lot more depth, the boats now leave deformed water wakes behind them which adds a lot to the tactics or finding the best path, you can upgrade the boats, customise the colours etc, theres various single player events in the career, and full online multiplayer
