War
The Frontier War is over. After decades of conflict between the IMC and the militia founded to fight them, the region of space known as the Frontier can finally see peace.

But liberation can come at a cost: the Frontier worlds were left barren by the war, and promised aid dwindled to nothing. With no way to support themselves, those who remained had no choice but to leave their homes. The brave relocated to the Outlands.

A remote cluster of planets on the fringes of the Frontier, the Outlands are untouched by war and teeming with resources and opportunity. But life is cheap here, and danger lurks around every corner. Its pioneers, explorers, and outlaws used to spend their lives locked in an endless power struggle – now, they settle their differences in the Apex Games, a bloodsport where Legends from all corners of the Frontier compete for money, fame, and glory.

Legends on the Battlefield
Master a growing roster of powerful Legends, each with their own unique personality, strengths and abilities that are easy to pick up but challenging to truly master.

Clubs
Choose your Legend and combine their unique skills together with other players to form the ultimate club.

Survival of the Fittest
Use your abilities–and your wits–to make strategic calls on the fly, adapting your squad's strengths to meet new challenges as the match evolves.

Innovation and Iteration
Experience a brand-new array of innovative features that level up the Battle Royale genre, including Respawn Beacons, Smart Comms, Intelligent Inventory and an all-new way to drop into the action with Jumpmaster deployment.

Loot
Drop in and loot up with a host of powerful weapons, diverse attachments and useful armor to protect you in battle. After the fight, collect a wealth of cosmetic options for personalizing your character and weapons, and unlock new ways to show off during the match.

KING'S CANYON // REDUX

nFfDVEP.png

SEASON 8 MAP UPDATES

Kings Canyon has gotten a facelift and an expansion with an entirely new addition to the map’s footprint. You can also find ECHO (Ecological Cleanup and Hazard Outreach) camps, Explosive Holds, Observation Towers, and more!

IDENTIFYING OUR GOALS FOR KING’S CANYON

When revisiting Kings Canyon, we wanted to tell a story that would extend over the course of the season while expanding the size of the map overall and introducing new rotations throughout. The catalyst of all this was the epic ship crash in the North that opened up new gameplay, new real estate, and a story thread we could pay off over time.
To achieve this, we discussed what we wanted to resolve for Season 8: Mayhem.
  • More attractive drop points in the Northwestern part of the map.
  • Improved rotations of our northern locations to Runoff, Artillery, Containment and the Pit.
  • The easing of 3rd partying by:
    • Adding an entirely new section of map that never existed before, thus giving more options for the initial drop
    • Thinning out densely-packed smaller POIs to give more breathing room and reduce combat choke points
  • A new map mechanic that can create on-the-fly high ground to gain a power position
  • New armories scattered across the map to help you gear up quickly, requiring a bit of forethought when looting

CRASH SITE

Fuse’s debut ended with an act of sabotage that has blown up parts of King’s Canyon and brought down a massive gunship. As it fell from the sky, it took an entire mountainside with it, so the ship’s final resting spot has opened up a large, previously unplayable portion of the map. The lingering smoke can be seen clear across Kings Canyon and the resulting fuel leak has contaminated and visually altered most of the area’s water supply. Now ECHO (Ecological Cleanup and Hazard Outreach) has moved in to help clean up the mess.

apex-s8-crashwide-clean-image-17.jpg.adapt.crop16x9.1455w.jpg

The ship itself is a tall, King of the Hill power position with multiple ramps and scaffolds surrounding it to create a jungle gym of interesting gameplay. To the left and right of the ship are multiple ECHO stations that will provide teams plenty of breathing space and loot as they plan their assault on the ship.

apex-s8-crashsite-clean-image-15.jpg.adapt.crop16x9.1455w.jpg

This crash site will also change up how existing areas are experienced. Artillery got caught up in the destruction and now has an exciting back door entrance that takes you up and into this new, northern region.

ZFm6gHn.jpg

nFfDVEP.png

A5gYcCK.jpg

The tunnel to the east of Artillery that led to Containment has also been hit by the sabotage and now allows for a rotation from the North as well. These new openings should create all-new gameplay scenarios as teams explore the Northern section of Kings Canyon.

NZPcBeN.jpg

nFfDVEP.png

XkbBxvj.jpg

Kings Canyon effectively became smaller with the destruction of Skull Town, but in Season 8, the new crash site adds back that real estate—and then some—in what will hopefully be a welcome play space to the North.

SPOTTED LAKES

The devastation to the North has caused flooding to wipe Slum Lakes off the map. In its place is the new Spotted Lakes, which attributes its name to the unusual spots found in the flooded, contaminated waters. ECHO camps have been set up and a huge Filtration Dam has been built in an attempt to clean up and reverse the damage caused by the leaking fuel of the crashed ship. Even Kings Canyon’s resident Leviathans have ventured over for a closer look.

This PoI is set up with the Dam as the central landing spot to fight over and acts as a divider between the camps on the east and west sides.

8QXpC4V.jpg

nFfDVEP.png

YhUOjum.jpg

The tent structures of ECHO create some intense, close quarter combat opportunities with fast vertical ziplines that take you to the tops of the tents for quick re-positioning.

apex-s8-spottedlakesint-clean-image-18.jpg.adapt.1456w.jpg

In addition, we opened up another rotation into this zone from the Pit. In fact, coming into Spotted Lakes at this high point grants you access to a massive zip line that can take you quickly towards the crashed ship… at your own risk!

apex-s8-sniperaction-clean-image-19.jpg.adapt.1456w.jpg

UNCOVERED BONES

One of the drawbacks to Slum Lakes was the difficulty in rotating to and from the PoI. In changing up the area, we also looked at making it easier to access Runoff and Airbase. When part of the mountainside was brought down during Maggie’s act of sabotage, a new pathway was revealed and ancient Leviathan bones were uncovered.

apex-s8-bonesside-clean-image-10.jpg.adapt.crop16x9.1455w.jpg

This new pathway offers a scenic rotation and an easy drop into Runoff, which in turn should make the Northwestern part of the map a more desirable drop location.

apex-s8-bones-clean-image-9.jpg.adapt.crop16x9.1455w.jpg

THE CROSSINGS

Situated down the length of the river are three ECHO outposts that are set up to survey and test the water supply. The bridges create clear focal points over the river and can lead to combat chokes in strategic spots.

OBSERVATION TOWERS

There are four towers that can be found in Echo Camps. The observation towers are perches that can be raised to gain an overview of the surrounding area. They can only be raised once by interacting with its wall panel, but comes at the risk of revealing your position. The sound of the towers rising can be heard at a fair distance, but provide a talented sniper an enviable position of power.

apex-s8-snipertower-clean-image-20.jpg.adapt.crop16x9.1455w.jpg

Have no fear though, a stealthy legend can still surprise anyone perched on high through the deployed zipline that takes you straight to the top.

EXPLOSIVE HOLDS

When the ship came crashing down, several mobile armories that were being stored in its cargo bay were lost and scattered across Kings Canyon. Although they require security clearance to open them, crafty Legends have discovered that a well placed ordnance can blow those doors open, granting access to weapons, ammo and valuable attachments. Everything you need at your fingertips, as long as you’re willing to part with a frag, thermite or arc star.

apex-s8-explosive-clean-image-13.jpg.adapt.crop16x9.1455w.jpg

SPOT THE DIFFERENCE

Throughout the development of Season 8, we kept listening to the community and breaking down the experiences and the combat encounters that people were frustrated with. As a result you may find the occasional building, or even town, has gone missing.

One sweaty chokepoint was the Farm. Although small in stature, it had been called out as a frustrating spot to travel through and fight in. Removing it allowed for more breathing space between towns and one less hotspot for people to ambush from.

cAx7JGZ.jpg

nFfDVEP.png

n4WhWQ5.jpg

You may also notice that the bunkers from season 5 have all caved in during Maggie’s sabotage, but don’t worry… the new Explosive Holds have more than enough weapons, ammo and high tier attachments to loot. While you may no longer get ambushed from above, you still have to watch your back as you blow the Hold’s doors open to get that precious loot.

The latest season of Apex Legends introduces our most explosive Legend yet, a hard-hitting new gun, a world-shattering update to Kings Canyon, and a whole new batch of quality-of-life updates.

Season 8: Mayhem brings the boom starting February 2nd at 10am PT.

MEET FUSE

nFfDVEP.png

apex-screenshot-season-8-fuse-hunting.jpg.adapt.1456w.jpg

A mercenary-turned-cage fighter who never turns down a good dust-up. His affinity for explosions allows him to carry extra grenades and to throw them faster and further. He can launch a cluster bomb with airburst explosives. And when it’s time to really bring the boom, Fuse uses “Wally” to launch a bombardment that encircles an area in a ring of flames.

Passive - Grenadier

Stack an extra grenade per inventory slot. Fire grenades farther, faster, and more accurately.

Tactical - Knuckle Cluster

Launch a cluster bomb that continuously expels airburst explosives on impact.

Ultimate - The Motherlode

Launch a bombardment that encircles a target area in a wall of flames.

NEW WEAPON: 30-30 REPEATER

apex-legends-screenshot-season8-3030-01-render.jpg.adapt.1456w.jpg

This heavy ammo lever-action repeater boasts hard-hitting rounds that’ll nail a fleeing Mirage at 200 paces.

The 30-30 is the benchmark for reliability, designed to withstand whipping sandstorms and temporal instability, which made it an obvious choice for the Apex Games.

DISCIPLINED TRIGGER FINGER
The 30-30 Repeater requires the user to rechamber their rounds between shots which brings a methodic rhythm to the rifle, an analogue elegance that the modern weapons of the Outlands just can’t quite capture.

To further tempt those itchy trigger fingers, the 30-30 Repeater has a built-in charge giving players an opportunity to deal increased damage with each shot at the cost of a short build-up.

The 30-30 reloads one round at a time, which makes for some very interesting resource management you won’t find anywhere else, even on the Mastiff.

The 30-30’s engagement range allows unique opportunities to reload individual rounds between shots. This gives the Repeater the ability to lay down consistent precision ranged pressure, something weapons with full reloads can sometimes struggle with.

KINGS CANYON MAP UPDATE

apex-legends-screenshot-season8-b-a-06-crashsitewide-after-clean.jpg.adapt.1456w.jpg

Season 8 once again sees changes to Kings Canyon. The main new point of interest shows the devastation from the ship crashing into the map. Players can now explore beyond Artillery, Spotted Lakes takes over the Slums and some new observation towers for basic recon or a sniper’s nest. Read more on the map changes in the map blog here.

LEGENDARY MAGAZINES

apex-legends-screenshot-season8-goldmag.jpg.adapt.1456w.jpg

Season 8 introduces the Gold-tier magazines. Attaching it to a weapon automatically reloads your stowed weapons after a brief delay. The Gold magazine has the same capacity as Purple mags, and is available for Light, Heavy, Snipers, and Energy Weapons.

QUALITY OF LIFE UPDATES
Damage counter

  • We have now added a damage counter to the HUD. This was a highly requested feature, so we’re excited to allow people easier tracking for chasing those badges and challenges!
  • Pinging Ammo
  • Pinging weapons or ammo in your inventory displays your current ammo count along with "player wants ammo" in quick chat.
  • Color Blind update
  • Healing and reviving will now follow colorblind rules when colorblind settings are enabled
  • Lore Blurbs on Canon Skins
  • Some of our skins are canon, and some are just for fun. For the skins that represent an important part of that character's backstory, we've added a small blurb to describe the significance of that skin in the Legend's life.

LEGEND META
Wraith: Hitbox adjustments.
Dev Note:
We know Wraith will always be a popular pick considering the amount of combat utility in her kit. After many tweaks to her abilities and animations, the fact remains that her win rate continues to be at the very top as it has since day one. With Season 7 hitbox adjustments to Pathfinder, we were able to control his power without nerfing his kit. We hope to do the same with Wraith.

Wraith now has a slightly larger hitbox than her fellow small legends, but the changes stay true to her model. As you can see in the before and after comparison, we’re adding some width mostly in the torso and leg areas.

season-8-patch-notes-wraith-hitbox.png.adapt.1456w.png

Even with these changes, Wraith remains small and hard to hit. She will retain Low Profile as we monitor her usage and win rates to see if power can be given back in other ways in the future.

Rampart:

  • Sheila angle increase from 120° to 180°
  • Wall health in build phase increased from 1hp to 45hp (sniper rounds still pierce through)

Dev Note:
Rampart has remained at the bottom across our performance metrics since her release. Her kit is very much built around proactively setting up a powerful position, but in a game as fast-moving as Apex, we determined her walls should have some reactive power as well. We’re keeping a careful eye on this one.

Horizon:

  • Gravity Lift effective cooldown increased from 21s to 25s. The 15s cooldown timer will now start when the Gravity Lift disappears.

Dev Note:
Horizon released strong, to the point where she rivals Wraith in win rate and pick rate. For the time being, we are monitoring her usage and checking whether or not the cooldown changes have a significant effect.

Octane:

  • Launch Pad Remastered: Many players may have known about Octane’s “super-jump” that was possible with a well-timed jump while hitting the pad. Once the double-jump option was introduced, there was an input clash that led to unreliable usage. We decided to add some launch options that are better defined than the old super-jump.

  • Hitting the jump pad from a standing position will launch players along a high arc (the speed and trajectory of the old super-jump).
  • From a crouched position, players will launch along a low arc, meaning they’ll fly lower but farther in the horizontal direction.

Crypto:

Remove ability to stick arc stars to friendly drones.

Loba:

  • Loot inside unopened care packages is now visible with Eye for Quality and accessible through the Black Market Boutique.

Caustic:

  • All gas now dissipates as soon as Caustic’s team is eliminated.

Mirage:

  • Mirage decoys create footstep sounds.

Dev Note:
This change was mistakenly mentioned in the Fight Night patch notes when it was in fact coming with this patch. Mirage decoys will now have footstep audio in a limited capacity. There won’t be a footstep tornado if an enemy Mirage ults nearby, but it should be slightly harder to pick out the real Mirage from audio cues alone.

WEAPON META

Fully Kitted Rotation

  • Removed: Wingman, Sentinel, Havoc, G7, Alternator
  • Added: R-301, 30-30 Repeater, Mozambique, Longbow DMR, Spitfire

Attachments
  • We are removing the Gold Barrel from the loot pool

Hop Ups
  • The Double Tap hop up will be removed from the loot pool
  • The Anvil Rounds hop up will be added into the loot pool

Volt
  • Bullet damage decreased from 16 to 15

Alternator
  • Bullet damage increased from 15 to 16

Spitfire
  • Bullet damage increased from 18 to 19
  • Reload speed increased from 2.8 seconds to 3.2
  • Empty Reload speed increased from 3.33 seconds to 3.8

EVA 8
  • Fire rate increased from 2.0 to 2.1

BUG FIXES

Caustic

  • Sonar abilities no longer stop Caustic’s highlight vision.

Loba
  • Fixed a few exploitable areas on Kings Canyon that Loba was able to reach via her Bracelet.

Rampart
  • Jumpads in Octane’s town takeover no longer allow Rampart to place Sheila on them.
  • Fixed an issue with Rampart's passive persisting even after changing characters in Firing Range

Havoc
  • Fixed an issue causing the Havoc to have 100% accuracy when hip-fired through Rampart’s Amped Cover.

Peacekeeper
  • Fixed a POV issue that occurred when using Horizon’s abilities, then immediately going into ADS with a Peacekeeper.

Clubs
  • Re-enabled ability to invite friends to club from friends list
  • Fixed an issue causing some users who have opted out of "Last Squad Invites" to not appear in club event timelines when placing in the top 5 of a match
  • Failing to connect to the club database no longer leads to a misleading "Kicked from club" message
  • Players will no longer be kicked from clubs when switching to another profile on Xbox.

MISC

  • Fixed an issue with crowds not cheering in Pathfinder’s Town takeover.
  • Fixed an issue preventing some heirlooms from appearing in the heirloom shop.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed Thermites to deal damage through certain walls on Olympus.

SEASON 7 RESULTS

As of 1/21/2021, we have the following distribution among players in Split 2 who played more than 5 hours of Ranked (versus Season 6):

  • 16.35% Bronze (17.76%)
  • 23.86% Silver (26.23%)
  • 32.09% Gold (36.25%)
  • 23.13% Platinum (17.75%)
  • 4.37% Diamond (1.89%)
  • 0.20% Master & Apex Predator (0.12%)
In Season 7 we saw higher player counts and more playtime than previous seasons. This resulted in a healthy spread of players across all ranked tiers, with a notable increase to population in Platinum and higher tiers. We’re seeing ranked matches taking between 30% and 40% of all games played depending on time of day, region, limited time mode availability, and time since the last reset.

SEASON 8 RANKED CHANGES

A consistent and on-going goal for the Apex Ranked team is to ensure competitive integrity through skill-based matchmaking. For Season 8, we are taking a bigger swing at some of our goals, while taking into account a lot of feedback from the community.

Some of these goals for Season 8 are:

  • Create a healthier top end in Diamond+. Diamond, Master and Predators are reserved for the best of the best. We don’t want to change that. But, we do want these players competing against more players of similar skill, more often. In previous seasons, the player pool in Diamond+ was too small to consistently provide fair matches, so we aim to improve this by providing more opportunities for good players to earn RP.
  • Improve match quality for ranked matches. This means we are aiming to fill most, if not all, of players in your Ranked match with players in the same rank tier. This may cause slightly longer queue times, but more competitively fair matches. We think this is worth it, and we’ll monitor queue times and sentiment closely around these changes.
Here’s the details of changes to the RP system designed to support these goals:

  • Earn placement RP earlier in a match
    • RP rewards begin at placement 13 instead of 10 in a match.
  • Kill/Assist count has been raised to 6
    • Earn RP for more of your kills and assists in a given match.
    • This is a slight nudge to give really good players a slightly faster trip back to their competitive rank, while giving our top tier players more ways to pull ahead of the pack in the Predator ranks.
  • Assist Threshold Increased to 10 seconds
    • Earn assists for up to 10 seconds (up from 7.5 seconds) after dealing damage to a target that is killed by someone else.
  • Predator has been increased to the top 750 players
    • Allowing more players to enter predator should improve queue times while remaining an exclusive tier for the highest levels of play.
  • Matchmaking Tightening
    • Players below Diamond will matchmake much more often within their own Ranks.
Finally, for Season 8 onwards, we’re excited to announce that Diamond Skydive Trails will be making a return as a ranked reward!

We always want to reward competitive players for the time you invest in Apex Legends and we hope accelerating the earnable RP will allow you to climb a little higher or give you the motivation to push for that next tier.

apex-blog-image-season-8-ranked-points.jpg.adapt.1456w.jpg

SEASON 8 RANKED MAPS AND SPLIT DATES

Kings Canyon crashes back into the scene for the first split which ends March 23rd, 2021. The second split will take us back to Olympus for the remainder of the Season.

World’s Edge is taking a break from ranked play but will return in a later season.

SEASON 7 REWARDS

Here’s a preview of all the Season 7 ranked rewards you’ll be earning when the Season swaps over:

This thing didn't die yet?

It sucks that this probably happened instead of Titanfall 3.

I really wish they'd just release a TDM or DM mode, I hate wasting 20 minutes of finding loot just to be sniped randomly, huge waste of time.

I hate that aspect in other BR games, but it doesn't happen much in Apex Legends. The fact that you're playing in a squad makes it easier to spot enemies and not be surprised by them. Also you never get one-shot by a sniper, especially if you"ve been looting for a while and are wearing at least basic armor.

Except for that Kraber headshot out of nowhere once in a long while.

Reading the dev comments, I wonder if they publish the stats from previous seasons for everyone to read ? I would be interested in checking the numbers for different characters and weapons, especially win or knock-down ratios.

No, it's quite popular in fact. And Titanfall 3 will happen only because of Apex's success so if anything, you should be grateful. You can always land immediately if you want to fight right away but there'll be a huge amount of luck involved getting weapons and armor. I play with rl friends so we love shooting the breeze while we loot. If you really want TDM you can still play Titanfall 2.

The changes to Evo shield upgrades and ring damage are horrible. Before you could go up against some predators and at least have a good chance of having the same red armor as them but now they will still have their red armor but it'll be a lot harder for the average player to have one making the fight even less fair. Obviously this wouldn't be an issue if Respawn enforced stricter skill based match making. The fact that my team ends up with apex predators in about half of our games definitely reduces enjoyment. Season 3 was the only season where SBMM felt like it worked properly.

As for the ring damage I agree that the second ring's damage needed to be reduced a bit but later rings should've been left unchanged, it's just giving further advantages to apex predators. The ring being so high damage at end created for high tension situations for eveyone and made positional planning a major strategical component of end game which resulted in being able to defeat apex predators who were overconfident and planned poorly.

It just feels like Respawn is catering entirely to the apex predator crowd (a lot of which are cheaters), making it so they have an even easier time of crushing you.

Brilliant thread, great job Tesseract Tesseract

Can't wait for Season 7 to launch, Season 6 really wasn't my season. Started out great (loved the lower TTK), and went strictly downhill from there.

Dropped the game entirely for a while, in part because I got really fed up with meeting players with Strike Pack and/or other controller cheats.

Playing Crypto can be frustrating when your random teammates don't seem to realize you can grab their banners with your drone. I've had so many disconnect while I was on my way to reach their box, or even halfway to the beacon.
Even worse are the guys who are too busy looting the death boxes after a heated battle, ignoring your box as the timer goes out.

I'm loving the look of this season, apart from giving TTV Wraiths another skin. Unfortunately I'm not going to get on 'til after work tomorrow. Who came up with the bright idea to release it at 4am UK time? They need a stern talking to.

This new Battle Pass is complete nonsense. It seems Respawn wants you to play daily, but instead, they just discourage people from buying Battle Pass. In Season 6 I played 2, sometimes 3 times a week but my sessions lasted for few hours and I managed to get 105 BP Level. This season there is no way I will be able to reach even half of what I got in S6.

They really want to alienate the casual player this season. The new battlepass is a big fuck you to casual players. I've always managed to get 110 playing 60-90 minutes daily 5 to 6 days a week. Looking at the battlepass this season, the way they nerfed the points the challenges give while at the same time increasing the difficulty of the challanges by 100% or more in some cases, well there's no way I will get to 110 playing the way I normally do. This might well be my last season which isn't something I thought I'd say, but it's clear at this point that Respawn has shifted Apex to cater to apex predators exclusively.

Also the new Legend looks extremely weak. The passive is virtually useless, the tactical doesn't have enough height to really be that useful and the ultimate is complete garbage as it doesn't really do anything. On the ultimate, the radius of the draw in effect around NEWT is too small, the duration is too short, the draw in is extremely weak (as long as you're not afk standing still); it seems to slow me down a lot less than Caustic's gas or Bangalore's missiles. I was expecting a very strong pull, plus there's absolutely no gravitational DOT damage which was something I was also expecting. I feel like it's the most useless out of all the ultimates. Combining it with other ultimates like Gibraltar's (which they do in the trailer) seems unlikely as it would be over before the orbital strike begins and they could just easily get out in time anyway due to the weak pull. If you tried to time it by having Gibraltar use the orbital strike first, enemies would disperse upon seeing and hearing it before the strike hits and with NEWT's weak radius nobody would be caught in its pull. I'd imagine she will get a hefty rework rather quickly because I can't see too many people picking her once the novelty wears off. Then again maybe not, there's always a chance they'll be too busy buffing Wraith and making Legendary skins for her.

The things that look like body armor they increase your HP. White increases by 50, Blue by 75, Purple by 100, Red by 125. You can directly find all color armors except Red, you can also evolve the armor you have on to the next level one by doing a certain amount of damage, hence "evo shield". There's also Gold armors but they don't evolve, they just provide 100 HP but shield cells and syringes will cure double their usual amount if you have a Gold armor.

Looking at the Apex reddit, people are really pissed about the new battlepass system, like really pissed. If the devs care about the game at all I expect changes fairly quickly bringing it much closer to what we're used to.

why tho? from first glance it seems to me that you would level much faster...
with the old system the lower tier challenges would only give you 6000xp, which at some point would mean it only adds slightly more than 1/10 to your level progress.

with the new system these challenges now give you 1/2 of your level progress right?

First off the challenges that now give 1/10 are 2 to 5 times harder/longer to finish than the ones that give 6k XP. Also 6k XP is more than 1/10 of the max 54k XP that was needed to level.
Before you needed a max of 54k XP to level up, with resets every week to 9k increasing 9k everylevel until they capped at 54k for the rest of week, here you always need 100k per level.

The battlepass is not easier than usual, it is probably about 5 times harder meaning it will probably take 5x the number of usual hours of play to reach 110.

There are people that have played for several hours and are still level 1 whereas they would've been 5-10 easily already with the old system.

Read for yourself: https://www.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/

I only read a quick overview a few days ago and hadn't had time to play yet myself, so I must have remembered wrong.

i thought you now either get 10 stars (full level) or 5 stars for each challenge...
that sounded super fast for leveling up.

look, either way I bet I won't have issues with challenges, I usually completed the full weekly challenges list on the first day each week, so I will be able to manage I bet lol.

I'll read into it and play it myself soon too, so, yeah... if it really is that bad then they will patch it real quick I bet.

Fortnite had a similar issue when they switched to Chapter 2, and they super overcorrected lol, let's see what Respaw's response will be

I saw the daily challenges change during the day, the second batch was much easier to achieve. Maybe it's a hotfix.
The unlocking seems much slower than with the previous system, but maybe we need to see on a longer time period how it evolves, with the old system it was very easy to level up during the first days when you only needed a few XP points, and much slower near the end of the week. If the star requirement remains the same, in the end it might be just as fast.

Anyway, I'm kind of liking the new season for the moment. The open spaces are great for mobility based characters, lots of verticality when you have Horizon, Octane or Loba in the fights. Also great for Rampart to murder everyone with Sheila.
I'm not really convinced by the vehicles though, especially as a passenger (most of the time it feels like the driver's drunk). I did have one fun moment when I was doing circles in the area, trying to run over opponents and catching their attention, while my teammates were reviving and healing themselves. I didn't even touch any my targets, but the strategy worked well.
