Not a fan of $70 price tag but if that means I am getting next gen games then fine.

I'd rather pay full price every 3 years than have devs resort to making F2P trash with microtransactions and a complete lack of new maps and features.

Battlefield always gets a discount on Black Friday week. Just wait for that if you don't want to pay full price.
Agreed.

You can always count on EA and UBI games to hit the discount dumpster fast. Got to hit those short term sales objectives.

Friendly reminder if you cant wait for discounts and getting digital, you can get 10% off if you preorder through EA Play. Pretty sure all games get that perk.

Not big on multiplayer but it looks gorgeous. I think I'll just have the 10hr trial via EA play through Game Pass.
I can right?

It's still a cross gen game with some additions for next gen and no single player. Rip off if I've ever seen one.

The game is LITERALLY $60 on pc. This "next gen tax" is BULLSHIT. Especially when there is no campaign, battle royale, and PAID battlepasses.

Cod always sells better than any game
ALSO halo multiplayer is free, plus warzone
Battlefield is sandwiched at these outrageous pricing.

They're dropping the ball I think. It being on GamePass would help big time.

WTF - *IF* I were to buy it at launch (I won't because it'll be buggy as hell like all other previous BF releases) - I'd buy it on PC anyway - but hell - charging $10 more because it's on "next-gen" XSX/PS5? Seriously?

Are they going to nerf the PC version so it won't match next-gen consoles?

EA being arrogant when they have no credit in the bank to do so. I hope this tanks and forces them to go F2P.

I havent kept up with all the tweets and bullet points, but 2042 has no SP campaign?

Going balls deep, they seem to think it's not expensive enough so are adding Battle passes ontop.

From the PS blog
"Each season is marked by a new Battle Pass. EA confirms that new locations will be accessible to all players. "

At least they didn't need a a chart to detail prices and release dates. Good job EA.

70 for

No campaign
- 7 maps
- Paid Early Access
- Cross-Gen
- Year 1 Pass
- Seasons with Battle Pass to trigger your FOMO
- MTX for outfits, weapons, specialists, ...

Jonah Hill Reaction GIF

And then get ready to spend all that money again in 2 years when they abandon this game leaving it in an unbalanced state.

EA will strip FIFA of it's career mode next and make that a FUT/Seasons affair only while still charging full price.

I think with all these paid Battelpasses incoming, they should of gone F2P. I mean can you imagine how much extra money they could of possibly made from MTX if people were geting the game for free?.
$70 for 7 maps and no single player, AND mtx and numerous Battlepasses. I dont know it just sounds a bit dodgy to me.

No SP campaign, no co-op, just 7 maps and 3 gamemodes... Should've been 40$ if they want to compete with all those F2P games.
We know of 4 game modes so far. Conquest and Breakthrough (All out war), Hazard zone (no specifics yet other than it is squad based and not a Battle royal), and Dice LAs mode that is supposed to be a love letter to battlefield fans. EA said they will discuss other modes at a later date.

BF doesn't need a single player, and hazard zone may be co-op.

Also each map is massive and split into sectors with at least 2 to 3 sectors per map, so more like 14 - 21 maps in total.

Do a little research maybe?

$70 on next gen just as expected... but will we see the same amount of vitriol and negative articles like we do now towards certain major company when eventually every publisher jumps on board?
Does it make it okay because Sony did it first?
