Dude...

It's okay if you're enjoying the game. No one is taking that away from you (or at least I'm not) but stop pretending that people can't be critical of a product they purchased for $60 or more. There's a whole host of issues with BF2042 and it's not just bugs or "some things that I don't like". Basic mechanics that are to be expected in a shooter released in 2021 are just completley absent. Let alone all the features that are now missing which have been present in previous Battlefield titles. It's fine if you want to overlook those (or if you didn't even notice) but people aren't "review bombing" the game because they have some secret vendetta against DICE/EA. If anything people desperately wanted BF to succeed as we've all grown tired from the competition that's getting a bit complacent to say the least...
To all those that complain about those "completely absent" features and mechanics, why don't you make your own game? BATTLE-PERFECT-FIELD 2077, good luck with that, how about you learn to appreciate the hard work and hours invested to make it in the first place

This is always a lame counter argument that I see pop up all of the time. Let the devs take responsibility for their work. They can't shield themselves behind politics this time. Yet ironically BF5 was a more cohesive title than this. With that said, I played last night and had good fun with a buddy. Definitely plan on playing some more since my experience has been more positive than negative at this point.

I fully recommend 4 party squading up in hazard zone. Did it again with the boys and it was too much fun.

Yall got any tips and tricks for 2042?
Spent 4 hours last night in a great group for Hazard Zone. INTENSE extractions, missed extractions, hilarious moments, etc. Good times.

Some tips I know so far:
- Use the slide to get into cover and when rounding a corner expecting enemies. It'll save your ass more than you think.
- I will have to test more: But me and some friends manage to stick Irish's projective defense system onto vehicles and it worked fairly well.
- You can place C5 onto casper's drone and easily blow up most vehicles that way. Jets may be too fast.
- Similar to above, you can place med-crates onto Casper's drone to fly around and heal people.
- You can kill enemies with the back blast of the Recoilless M5.
- Always have all the ammo slots filled for the attachments, if you run out of ammo you can switch to them for more

What are you talking about man? every time a game is bad, we are supposed to just say: "MaKe YOuR Own GAme Stop COMplaiNING!"

It's perfectly valid to complain about disappointments, more so when the studio has done 10 times better work in the past.

No one is fighting. This is a discussion forum and we're just having a normal discussion I think?

But it's simple: if you don't want a certain type of discourse in a thread then stop calling attention to it. Carry on.

Literally if my 4 year old daughter was on this game development team she as a toddler would know that u don't put a capture point of breakthrough on a roof.
It's pure mental trying to take that point from 64 people from the roof , unless u have coordinated jets and squads good look in getting that breakthrough point from roof , absolute abysmal game design

That's when you send the 5th Hovercraft Battalion up the sides.

your second sentence, isn't that the point of BF lol

It's supposed to be a coordinated team effort - the one thing that would fix it is commander or actual voice chat in game.

those are small fixes they will likely add with time, its not bad game design we just need better ways of communicating

Even if ur a party of 4 it's literally impossible to take that point because the entire team spawns at that roof if u take it's first floor , ive played like 10 matches and all the matches gets deadlocked at that point and the attackers 100 percent loose at that point it's just bad game design .

I've seen a team win there once, but all other times were a no go. All they have to do is make the capture area go further down into the staircase section.

Yea, the biggest complaint i have is communication with your team.

I think it can be fixed with tweaks (moving those points elsewhere) but a commander really helps - not sure why that isn't implemented. Something to coordinate everyone is super helpful.

I've been seeing how many people I can run over in a single round with my hovercraft, equipped with a repair kit and thermal smoke for them long runs. So far my best is 9 roadkills in a match since I have started counting. It's hilarious when you run over the same people several times and they start coming after you with choppers and C5 or whatever they can. Had one dude chase me all over the map in a chopper, me still giggling and running over his mates as I went.

Edit: just now on renewal I got 21 roadkills with my hovercraft. One guy got so mad as he was running away he quickly redeployed rather than letting me get the kill. lol

Me and a buddy were on Hourglass Conquest and dominating using the Apache. Kept escaping over and over until finally the enemy team resorted to jet ramming us (which they mostly failed at).

Roadkilling people in tanks is also hilarious especially when you chase them down.

This game's XP system is so weird.

For every enemy I tag and gets killed I get 5 + 50 XP, that's the same as when I killed the enemy myself.

If I damage a helicopter but don't destroy it I get 10 XP, but when someone else shoots it down I get nothing.

From an XP perspective there's like zero incentive to actually try and take down helicopters because you'll never take it down in the first hit and in 99% of cases they fly away leaving you unable to fire a second time. It just blows my mind how few people use AA missiles, helicopters can be crazy OP in certain maps but almost no one takes action.

More often than not I just lock on with my AA missile and don't fire, just keep it locked on. Freaks them out. It's funny to see.

It's the opposite for me for most matches. Anytime a chopper is in the air, it turns into Missile Command. Then you throw in hacking and it turns into free kills almost every time.

I find Manifest with a Nightbird isn't too bad due to you kind of blending in with environment/darkness.

DICE needs to nerf these fucking motion mines big time because the whole map is filled with them and you are pretty much spotted the whole round. So fucking stupid

Pretty sure you are only spotted by that squad of players who used the mine but still

lmao, instead of fixing the other guns they actually nerf the one weapon that hits wherever you're pointing at.

SJRB

They fixed all guns globally which the PP-29 will also benefit from.

Hopefully, but we'll see.

How the current weapon behavior made it past even the first round of playtest is beyond me, so I kinda doubt Dice is on top of this. But it would be nice if the other weapons are going to be useful.

It was fine during the Beta though. Interestingly enough some things like health bars on top of players and vehicles were also in the beta but were removed in the final build.

It still gets me how at the end of a match between two desperate armies of landless mercenaries in a dystopian climate-ravaged world, some Fortnite character is like "Hur I'm just better than everyone hurrrr" and then some chick who just won an award for murdering the most other mercenaries is like "I told ya' to keep up kawaii /dabs".

It's so fucking weird haha. This clashing of design ideas.

That's probably the dumbest shit I've read so far concerning game development in general......

A game is technical project, and if you fuck up the spec sheet, be it in design or implementation you deserve every piece of criticism you get, because you simply fucked up.
If I told one of our business clients not to cry about some missing functionality because other stuff works I'd probably not leave the meeting room alive..... And rightfully so.

Last time I tried playing breakthrough with my friends we got glitched deployments 4 times in a row. Literally the entire server locked the game the from even starting. Everyone just quit after that.

This is nothing personal. Who cares about some hurt feelings. People got every right to be upset about a product being faulty.
I was being sarcastic.

Rush to be added for all 2042 maps in Portal

hype

  • Builder additions
    • Rush game mode layouts for all 2042 All-Out Warfare maps (through Portal)
    • New official Vehicle Team Deathmatch template
    • New official Team & FFA Gun Master templates
    • New official Infection template
    • Rules Editor - Added the ability to detect what players were killed with in order to apply additional logic
They are going ham with patches and updates.

F Filthy Casual Unlikely. The team you are talking about is about 200 developers, not 800....

The issues recently prior to this game around the comments made with BFV, are fucking BY THE GUY THE RUNS THE NEW STUDIO!

"EA's chief design officer Patrick Soderlund says"

"Embark is a new Stockholm-based studio, founded by Patrick Söderlund"

but wait....theres more

Remember the controversy surrounding Battlefront 2? Well guess who is the co-founder?

"Embark co-founder Rob Runesson."

The fucking studio head for Battlefront 2.

Have fun with that spin. The fucking people in charge of some massive fuck ups, now magically being used as some great sign that ohhhh the best ones must have left dem lol I'm hype for what ever Embark puts out don't get me wrong, but relax with buiilding this whole ass narrative that 200 people now = 800 lol Relax bud. A lot of them came from DICE yes....a lot also came from Paradox, Avalanche, Black studios etc but that doesn't fit that narrative though huh? =)

The Maps and placement of objectives or perhaps anything non player related has no logic to it and undoes the fabulous work that was done on BFv in coming up fun tactical levels

Calm down mate it ain't that deep. Whatever the problem is the point still remains that Dice's standards have dropped, especially on the technical side.

Got the 20mm cannons for the Nightbird and it makes it so much more fun. It can actually kill multiple enemies with one barrage!

I don't understand why people buy a BF game at launch expecting it to be polished to perfection, and then become outraged when it isn't. As a longtime fan of the series I went into BF2042 expecting it to be a mess (albeit a fun one at that) and thats exactly what it turned out to be. I don't understand how people continue to buy BF games at launch, complain that they're buggy, and then repeat the same process 2 or 3 years later.
