If you play as Sundance it’s much easier to get vehicle kills , that why you always see her as the specialist at the end with the most destroyed.

Just do something Ike this:

good to know. didn't realize her grenades plus 1 rocket equals tank kill. was constantly tossing the grenades and raging that it just does "part disabled" bs which then resulted in me getting smoked since i revealed locale. i'll try that out.

now don't get me started on the slide show frame rates that happen ESPECIALLY in the desert map area. uggggh let's go patches!

You can place health crates on top of Casper's drone and fly it around to heal people. It's great!

We need more drone variants.

is there a big day one patch or anything? that improves compared to what i've played the last week?
The Day One Patch is already out. There are 2 more patches planned before next year. Performance wise, I haven't noticed much difference (was already running great on PS5) but I did notice my vehicle unlock issue being fixed. Not sure how performance is on PC after the patch. Probably not much different.

Beta was terrible, pc version is super smooth from what i played.

Yay for the nerf to the Hovercraft!

Boo for the nerf to the Nightbird. I was having a lot of fun with that while playing. If they just fixed the issue where infantry gets stunlocked by rocket/missile barrages, it probably wouldn't even be an issue.
Curious to what weaponry on the Nightbird they are referring too. The miniguns are hard to hit infantry, the rockets require the whole barrage to get a kill or two usually. I haven't tried the 20mm yet, so maybe those.

So real talk, you guys enjoying this? Itching to dip but dont' want to drop 70 for shite. My gut tells me the the astoundingly low Steam review aggregate is more groupthink than reality though. Am I wrong?

The 20mm are definitely quite powerful. The rocket barrage is too when hitting directly. Usually takes a few more rockets than expected though. But the combo of 20mm and rockets are just devastating to infantry.

I still think they're tackling the issue the wrong way though. When hit with an explosion or rocket, players on foot get stunlocked. I'd love it if DICE fixed that first and then went about tuning vehicles afterwards if it's still needed. I feel like they're applying a bandage to the problem instead of addressing a more underlying issue.

These dogshit specialist funny or edgy quotes after every match are already getting on my nerves.

God I hate these specialists so much. Just the absolute worst. What the fuck were they thinking.
i hate them too. But i do really like the grappling hook and wingsuit. Keep that ish in

Picked it up today on PS5 and I'm having a fun time playing 128 player conquest. Started with some breakthrough but that was just a meatgrinder. Not really fun. Overall it's definitely a step back in many ways, but the moment-to-moment gameplay still has that typical Battlefield mayhem. It's just chaos and you can't let stupid deaths get to you or you're gonna have a bad time.

Game looks quite beautiful and so far runs great. Zero online issues either, so that's a plus.

There's quite lot of bullshit for sure though:

- the specialists are shit, no doubt about it
- the weapon choices are pathetic. Every "class" [SMG, assault, etc] has 4 weapons, 3 of which get unlocked through level progression. It's just so bad
- weapons are pretty shit, not gonna lie. The spread is kinds insane, for example
- unlocks are way too slow and meaningless
- FUCK that hovercraft, that thing is crazy OP
- Getting booted back to the menu after every match - why is this a thing?
- some super weird menuing for basic stuff, everything is very counter intuitive
- severe lack of customization
- the music is TERRIBLE
- map rotation seems bad, I keep ending up in the map with the ship wrecks or the one with that huge border in the middle and I've been playing for about 5 hours
- Because the maps are so huge there is a TON of running. Especially at the start of a round and when you don't get a vehicle you have to run all the way to the objective, which by that point is already capped so you have to run even more to the next. The start of every match is just stupid as fuck, takes like 5 minutes for things to get going and players to spread around on this endless map. Just such a bizarre design choice.

Special mention to the situational audio, which is some of the worst I've ever heard in a game. Which is kinda insane considering Battlefield has long been the king of audio. Footsteps more often than not sound from different directions than where someone is, leaving you constantly looking around like an idiot because you hear footsteps but you don't see anyone. Very bad job there.

So overall it's okay, but I severely doubt it has longevity.

First time i think cq is just a bad time on these maps. Breakthrough on the other hand is where they shine by focusing engagement on two or three points, of course the map with the last point on top of the skyscrapper will never not be funny. 600 to 0 for the attackers everytime all the time. 😂😂

I'm enjoying it a lot with a group of people and about to hit rank 40 (I got early access). I got the PS5 version, but have also played the PS4 version (which I do not recommend).

I'm holding out for January for more fixes and possibly a price drop.

Honestly portal is dead already. there are like 4 servers.

The reason there is no scoreboard or spectation or server selection for 2042 is because they don't want you to see how absolute dead the servers are.

The servers also that you join are so fast over, that people can't even fill the servers. It's basically bot the multiplayer games.

Personally, issues aside, I'm having fun. I have been playing over 10 hours of it on SX, yes there is issues, and missing features but having 2042, 1942, BC2, BF3(eh) it's worth it for me, but I had a 50$ gift card that was given to me.. so, I didn't invest the big dollars on it. Breakthrough keeps my butthole clinched.

Real talk.. I love Battlefield, played since 1942 nearly 20 years ago. Enjoyed them all, even BFV to some extent.

2042 isn’t just a terrible Battlefield game, it’s a really bad game in general. There isn’t even a good game buried in there in its current state. It’s not being reviewed badly because of a couple of minor technical issues, it’s being panned by the public because it’s just not a fun game.

If you have looked at some of the issues and think you could enjoy it regardless, grab it, you might find the fun in it. The only good in this game is the DNA of the other older games within portal.

Not bizarre if they were designed for a BR, which I suspect is the case.

yeh, even removing expectations. If this was released under a different name, its still bad...and would die in 2 weeks.

I had more fun in Hyperscape than 2042

Completely removes single player to focus solely on multiplayer..... and it's still shit. Throw DICE away lol they just aren't competent

Just had a bug where I apparently was flagged as an enemy because literally every teammate unloaded on me. There's so much dumb shit in this game it's hard to keep track of all the bugs and bad design.

But when I run around and there's tanks rolling in and helicopters flying above and explosions everywhere and suddenly there's a sandstorm or whatever and everything looks absolutely insane... Man that feels so good.

Actually I think it takes more then just 2 smart grenades, but it does do some damage. I know 2 grenades and 3 rockets will do the trick, so you can solo kill a tank if done properly.
The great things about her smart grenades is you don’t even have to sim them, just tried up in air and the will lock on target, including helicopters.

I really wanted to pick this up but knowing that there are probably 2-4 paid expansions over the next year, I think I'll sit this one out and grab a complete edition next year.

Portal Bad Company 2 is the best reason to play this game. That part is really great. BF3 in the portal is good too. I hope they add more maps.

The BF2042 part was poorly conceived. The specialists are a terrible idea. I hate them. It's anti battlefield. It's just completely thrown off the squad play and balance that battlefield is known for and replaced it with this horrible attempt to glom onto hero based shooters and it also killed the customization they had in BFV. The maps are also too big and full of dead space. Conquest sucks now.

They can save this game but it's gonna take a lot of work. But, if you've been waiting for a Bad Company revival or a BF3 remaster, the portal is pretty great.

I'm honestly disappointed. So much. I guess it's back to Battlefield 4 and 1. I forgot I pre-ordered 2042 from Amazon. I'm returning it now. I remember 8 years ago, I bought Battlefield 4. THAT GAME WAS A MESS. It was more technical issues than anything else. The gameplay was solid, it was just marred by technical problems. Eventually, all of that got fixed.

NOW??? Too many issues to shake a stick at. Especially when you get rid of the classes. WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU DO THIS DICE??? This game has gameplay and technical flaws all over it. I'd be angry about it, but considering the track record in DICE's history, I'm not surprised.

Is 'That Pure Potato'
Disable raw mouse input. It turns out that was what was causing the massive lag I was experiencing. I mean, I never would have thought the input mode of the mouse would cause any kind of performance issues in a game, let alone severe ones, but here we are.

Also, the BF2042 subreddit is hilarious right now

I was pretty hyped for this. I can't stress how disappointing this thing is.
I get 50-90 fps on my i9-10900f, RTX3080 and 32GB RAM pc.
And I'd overlook this is a blink of an eye if the game wasnt a goddamn travesty.

I think I read a rumor a while back that said they tried to do their BR Warzone take with Battlefield. I though it was bullshit but now im not so sure anymore.

They made a warzone, r6 siege and battlefield mashup that feels so fucking wrong it just makes me sad.

The operators are so disgustingly out of place with their chirpy voice acting i was honestly pissed of by the time i quit the game.

Level design is TRASH. On top of that something just feels really off about the geometry. Its like it's out of proportion to the real world. Too big spaces or scales. Just dreadful.

I didnt believe guys who said you end up running around for minutes just to get to some action. But they were right.
The maps are so disjointed by the new mechanic of splitting the map into sectors that you mostly feel isolated from anything meaningful.

Hit registration is so bad, you end up scoring a hs but you dont even realize it unless you check the text prompt. No "ping" sound like it was in the previous game.

And i know why they're afraid to include scoreboards. Many times you end up barely getting any action on foot, you end up with some 15 or 20 kills (sometimes you barely meet more than a squad or two of enemies), but im sure that guys in vehicles easily score in the hundreds. Imagine people seeing the disparity.

God damn, what a gigantic letdown. I think im gonna rather go play BF5 than this PoS.

A fucking SIX SHOOTER.

I GUESS YOU GOTTA LAUGH THE LAST ONE TO DEATH.

FUNNY MANNNN
How do you get the magnum?

And disappointed to hear about the reception to Battlefield. After playing through the trial, I was kinda liking it....specially the territory capture mode connected to the resources. I was even considering getting it but if people aren't liking it, I worry about how long it'll last.

Is it cause she can identify as a apache helicopter to combat various vehicles?

Croatoan

They/Them A-10 Warthog
So my wife could play the beta just fine but launch she literally gets 20fps on low running at 720p or 1080p

She has an I5 7500 kaby lake and a 1080.

These are above minimum specs. What is going on. Why does lowering resolution do nothing?

Played 5 hours thus far and nope once again I STILL won't delete Battlefield 4 off my SSD. Theirs a bunch of awful decisions DICE made that I will not highlight in this particular post. Unreal that this is the 4th Battlefield in a row in which I will not be able to bury that game(BF4). We will see months from now whether I can. I can't make a long rant right now, maybe I will at some point next week or something. Everything I complained about in the beta is currently in the game except for the no recoil thing.lol

AOW in conquest kinda trash partially because of the Specialists are trash and don't belong in Battlefield(some trends just aren't worth chasing EA/DICE) but also the maps are too big for conquest and like the I said in the beta, the last gen versions have the better version when it comes to map flow. What we have now, is a not so good Conquest mode which traditionally, is the heart and soul of Battlefield in terms of modes. That's not good.

Also like I said before this game even released but not pertaining to the beta, Portal is light of this game and sure enough it is and in ways highlights AOW's problems but that's not without it's own problems/nuggets which I may go into if I do a post about this next week.

Just had some of the best rounds of Breakthrough so far. Had a few squads full of Boris and Rangers holding a point while the rest of the team held the other.

Unlocked the AC-47 (the last assault rifle) and that thing is great. Also started using the motion sensors and racked up a ton of assists.

bruv you pretty much nailed it, what a major disappointment for me, i have been waiting for this fucking game for so long

I think it's either DICE internally just isn't the same or EA had too much influence over development, it's just mind boggling the decisions that were made. I expected to be blown the fuck away by a next gen battlefield title and after 10+ hours of play i am just so bummed out, it's a terrible game
