Battlefield was cool because it was a realistic war game that could have crazy "Only in Battlefield" moments in it. When you drop the militaristic tone and make all the trailers about wacky moments and situations it just comes off as cringe.

What happened? People are upset over the beta?
The game seemed quite promising a few months ago, but I haven't kept up.

We always expected this to have a terrible, glitchy launch, right? Why the dislike ratio? Something else?

the product placement...jesus...Sony is getting jealous. This reminds me of the 99 Problems Trailer for BF3...I didn't care for that marketing campaign..and I am not liking this either. The first few trailers worked and made sense. We messed up on the last game, lets show some memes and fun things to show BF is back. This is aimed at the COD crowd...but the COD crowd from 2010.

Changes to fundamental systems, crap beta and now recently some woke shit have some people spun up. Me personally I found pc performance during beta to be shit and will probably be the reason I postpone my purchase.

Am I the only one who thinks the white specialist with the cap looks totally like a trans man?

Anyways, I've been back to battlefield V and it plays great. Almost nobody uses women soldiers. I got it free with PS+ but it must be around 5-10$ if you want to buy it. You can just play this until they fix battlefield 2042 (if it ever happens) or release an actual next gen Battlefield game with factions.

- Beta looks rushed
- Specialists
- Don't looks like BF at all
- They made a blog saying 'we're listening the feedback'
- Double down the specialist
- Closing threads from discussion on reddit

Plenty of people are still excited for it (me included), but this trailer was stupid.

- Double down the specialist
What do you mean by this? They already had planned to reveal the remaining of the 10 specialist that they announced months ago.

Subpar beta that wasn't actually updated and had a ton of bugs ontop of latency issues. Divide over core gameplay mechanics like movement. Specialist is controversial, as well among other things.

The negative insider posts about development haven't helped either.

They are clearly targeting the COD crowd.
But they seem to forget that they already have COD.
Meaning they don't appeal to the BF fans, nor to the COD fans.
maybe they'll get some luck with the "My little pony" crowd.

Is a very horrible strategy. Most of corporative guys think like that. They're trying to get as many players from other games as possible, Fortnite, Call of Duty and Apex to make their base, ignoring pretty much their own BF fanbase.

The end result will be a game with lack of identity and becoming another generic one.

BF fans asking classes instead of specialists, they said they're listening the feedback, they will add more specialists, probably with more overpower abilities.
Eh, they've clearly had the specialist design in the game for awhile and can't change it at this point. As for more specialist, they already have stated they will have more every year.

So? As I said, they double down the specialist.

Fair enough, just the way it was worded makes it sound like they gave the community the option of specialist or no specialist and then went with specialist anyway. Which isn't true.

With isn't true is that blog saying 'We're listening'.

I mean, listening who? Twitter? Fortnite Players?

Is the point of the video to tell people this is a battle royale of sort?

And don't get me started on the part they put a cockroach.

Eh, they've clearly had the specialist design in the game for awhile and can't change it at this point.

Whats the point of "listening to feedback" then?

They did a blog post about it and also some videos.

From what people report, it's mostly bug fixes. Not sure that counts as changes, unless the massive amount of bugs weren't supposed to be fixed because they're "intended features", like in Skyrim.

I'm all for more Iggy Pop and real music out there in the world... but a CGI trailer? I guess this is what the kids need to see to sell units.

I don't remember all the stuff they changed from feedback (there were several), but I do know they doubled the tank count from 4 to 8.

It really hurts to see all those hype trailers knowing the mess they created with "specialists" and "every class can take any loadout".
It's literally a Battlefield without the Battlefield essence.
