Capcom corporate officer Yoshinori Ono briefly touched upon Deep Down, a free-to-play action RPG first announced at the PlayStation 4 reveal event in February 2013, in a newly published interview by Eurogamer

Here is the full exchange:
Eurogamer: There was a period where I thought you were going to be Mr. Deep Down. What happened with all that?

Yoshinori Ono:
“I haven’t been called Mr. Deep Down quite yet. The original team is clearly no longer together at this point, but people might have noticed that we’ve kept the trademark registered, and it’s not been completely given up on. Every year we examine titles we’re doing in future, and we bring up projects to approve and move forward. There’s not much I can say about it, but if you’ve noticed we’ve kept the trademark it means we haven’t given up on the title completely.”

Eurogamer: I played it at TGS a few years ago and it looked really promising.

Yoshinori Ono:
“We did have the concept developed a bit further than that, but yeah…”

The last few updates on Deep Down were a set of screenshots released in December 2014, followed by Ono hinting at the game changing course and growing “much larger” than originally planned in February 2015, and Deep Down management producer Teruki Miyashita discussing the game in a Capcom company interview in March 2015.

They are still working on this thing and they gave up on Megaman Legends 3 in less than a year?

He didn't said they are still working on. He only said that it's one of the possible projects that they still talk about inside Capcom and that they kept the trademark registered.

Still more thought and effort than Megaman Legends 3
