Does Sony really only have a single game release for 2023 on PS5?

There is nothing exciting coming.

If Spiderman 2 is proper next gen title, I wouldn't count on it making 2023.

Unless they rush it and ship with flaws in combat system/ swinging mechanics.

Will look good though and have perfect lip sync when characters speak in cut scenes.

Well, can you prove him wrong? If not, then your post applies to yourself more than anything.
He has already been proven wrong.
These are either first party or being published by SIE:

Spider-Man 2
Horizon CotM
Horizon FW Burning Shores
MLB23
Destiny 2 Lightfall
Stellar Blade
Firewall Ultra

The two live service games releasing before the end of this FY (March 31, 2023) would also be first party, but they're unannounced as of yet.

That's what's known so far until Sony has their showcase to flesh out their next wave of games

OP keeps changing the goal post to keep the bait/troll going.

So far that is all they have announced for 2023 when it comes to new full on game releases(not DLC/expansion, not a port), and even Spider-Man 2 has only gotten a CG trailer with not even a release season given. That they're shoring up on keeping games off of Xbox consoles doesn't inspire confidence that their first party will be doing much in 2023. They no doubt have some things they haven't announced yet that will release next year, but not expecting anything big given the lack of a showcase this year and most of their previously announced games having already released, or having further off release years.

Game releases for PS5 in 2023 alone are looking great. The Last of Us Online is most likely 2023, that's going to be huge for them

Baldur's Gate 3 is PC only on release and won't come to consoles for a good 1-2 years, and FFVIIR 2 is scheduled for the Winter quarter of next year which also includes early 2024.

They have 6+ PlayStation published exclusive games coming in 2023, as of now. In addition, to 4+ console exclusives from other studios.

That's 10+ big AAA exclusive games in the next 12 months, before any showcase or announcements. I think they are doing fine lol.

some of those are not exclusive so they do not count.

But if you want to add multiplatform games, why not the new Destiny 2 game/expansion coming? at least that is From Sony's first-party studio Bungie. which... to be honest. Sony's best Studio ( my opinion of course )

For the next half a year Sony and MS are not going to be their usual boastful exclusive selfs.

1 is crying this BS while the other is crying that BS. Wait till after the shitshow ABK deal settles.

has been asked to post in 'Grounded' mode.
Probably more along the lines of a question being asked, and a different answer being given.

"Are you wearing black shoes?"

"Well I've got this nifty red shirt on, and wearing these awesome cargo shorts."

"So the shoes are black then?"

"What. Are you allergic to nifty red shirts and awesome cargo shorts?"
Why don't 3rd party exclusives count though?

Sony could release Spider-man 2 alone next year and combined with Final Fantasy XVI, it will move a shit load of consoles, i have no doubt though they have much more planned, like Helldivers 2, possibly Factions, Stellar Blade and who knows what else.

Sony hasn’t had a quiet year since 2014. I dont think playststation owners will be starved for AAA exclusive content next year

Because those games would have come to PS4/PS5 anyways. They're not procuring games that wouldn't come to them otherwise, just stopping other systems from getting them. Nothing of value is actually added for Sony players, unless a game is more enjoyable to you when you know others are being denied access to it. Multiplats aren't counted as being the work of the platform holder, and most 3rd party exclusives are just multiplats paid to not go to rival consoles.

When it's a Bayonetta situation where the game wouldn't exist without the funding of the platform holder, then credit where credit is due.

Not necessarily. Street Fighter 5 likely would never have come or made if it wasn't for Sony's funding and subsequent exclusivity. Same goes for many other games.

In that case none of the zenimax games should count cause xbox would have got all those too lol

Difference being they are owned by Microsoft, so are first party and the quality of their games is impacted by the financial security Microsoft affords them. Starfield may never have gotten delayed if Microsoft didn't own them, and we'd have gotten another Cyberpunk situation. We know for a fact that Psychonauts 2, which would have come to Xbox systems if Double Fine was still independent, was given the funding and time to add the bosses+really polish the game due to them being acquired by Microsoft.

Might as well say no Insomniac games count because they would have come to Sony anyways had they stayed independent.

Yeah, i mean its all equally stupid, who knows if the obscene amount of money sony paid for final fantasy didn’t go into development either?

Its splitting hairs, at the end of the day you can only play those game on one platform.

Then that is a Bayonetta situation that is worthy of credit, as I already said. FFXVI is not such a case, it would be made and release same state even if there was no exclusive deal.
