DRAGONS DOGMA 2 Has Been Announced

do not tempt fate do not contrain Wonder Woman's thighs do not do not
Why is there suddenly so much hope for an ok game very few played? I haven't seen anyone even mention Dragon's Dogma in years.
Dragons Dogma threads dont last very long or have a lot of different posters.
It is a niche title and the loyal few are very vocal.
Which is why it seems like there is a lot of hype in those specific threads but when you actually look in the threads its not very many people who are actually hyped about it.

But us Arisen know whats up....and while I was doubting a sequel I am pleasantly surprised they are actually making a full on sequel.
I need to find a way to retire early cuz I have way too many games to play to actually have a real life, a girlfriend and a job.

On the one hand it's great, on the other it kinda looks like something years away that was announced too fucking early. I guess we'll see.

I hope they keep some of this cheese lol.
It's very cheesy and shouldn't work, and yet it does.
Modding this back into the PC version of Dark Arisen is obligatory as far as I'm concerned. Love it.

That soft piano intro lulling you into a false sense of regular-fantasy-game security, and then POW GET JROCKED

I don't understand, why now the public has the hype at 1000%, if when it came out on PS3 and even with the DLC, neither the public nor the press took it into account at its launch?
Diamond in the rough. The original is a bit janky and oddball on the surface, but has enough charm, good gameplay and replayability to trap players in an endless cycle of reinstalling it for another playthrough.

Guys I can't wait to get a hold of Dragon's D again

Because people played it since then and liked it. It found its audience.
In fact I bought it a few months after its release and it's a good game, but underestimated by the journalism gamers... now the hypocrites of IGN and more of them praise the game :messenger_expressionless::messenger_unamused:.

Theres nowhere near as many people as you think who are hype.
The people who liked it.....really liked it so basically a vocal few is building the hype themselves.
Thats usually what happens with cult classic everythings.
It also reviewed well was respected by fans, critics and devs and was a pretty unique experience at the time.

Also, remember the game got like 5 rereleases.
  1. OG
  2. Dark Arisen
  3. PC
  4. Nextgen - XB1/PS4
  5. Switch
The audience is there.
Hell if they remastered Dark Arisen so the lighting and graphics are up to snuff and changed nothing else, i would probably quad dip.
Already got OG X360, Dark Arisen and the PC release.

I played the much improved Dark Arisen version on PC recently and thought it was good and it got me anticipating a sequel. This game must've been really hamstrung by having to work on a console with no hard drive considering the scope and ambition though. I'd really like to see what they could do now especially if it's not cross gen.

I actually hoped it would be closer to release, so I am let down more than anything XD
Still, need more fantasy RPGs in my life, so let's go, pls. release it while I am still alive.

Guess I gotta restart Dragon's Dogma.

I only got past the initial hydra and something about it didn't click with me right away although I really wanted it to.

Something about the game felt rough and unfinished.

Amazing. Glad to hear it. Been replaying the first game for the 3rd time on the switch. I own it on ps3/ps4/ps5 and switch. This will be a day 1 buy. Hope this stays a single player like the first game. We have enough mmos.

Still not interested if they plan on doing the pawn shit again but still nice to see it for those that wanted it.
There is tons of mmos if that's what you want. This game isn't that its a single player rpg with async connected stuff via the pawns. Maybe they will have a coop option, but if they do it better not be the main focus.

Could that have something to do with the game making you drag said hydra's severed head to the capital on a slow-ass cart shortly afterward?

The prologue chapter is pretty weak to be honest. The sidequests are ho-hum yokel fare outside of the one that takes you to the Witchwood, and the cart escort acts as a boredom gate to the open world proper.

What the game doesn't tell you (and may take three or more playthroughs to figure out...) is that you can press use to kick the ox pulling the cart and trade a chunk of its life for a speed-up. Bring a mage with Anodyne or a few stacks of bottled spring water from West Gransys for group-heal, and you can boost that shit all the way to Gran Soren :messenger_face_steam:

GeForce Leak and data breach is eternal.
Anyways, hyped! It's probably only just entered mass development given the timing since DMC5.

I find it hard to put into words why Dragons Dogma stuck with me so much. I remember counting down the days waiting for release and feeling like one of the only people I knew that gave a shit about it. I just hope they keep the darkness and lantern. Man what a vibe. My only issue with the first was the size of its world. Just do Dragons Dogma 1 with better graphics and a huge diverse world and i'll be happy. I really hope this is coming next year. I really can't wait any longer

DD stuck with me because it felt like an unfiltered game of old school dungeons and dragons. Back when ogres guarding treasure was just an ogre guarding treasure and not some misunderstood soul looking for redemption.

It was one of the first games I can remember thinking magic was damn powerful and scary. You felt like a god slinging a huge tornado that blacked out half the screen at an enemy.

Western RPG spells at the time were not even close at conveying the power that DD spells had.
