I don't understand, why now the public has the hype at 1000%, if when it came out on PS3 and even with the DLC, neither the public nor the press took it into account at its launch?
In fact I bought it a few months after its release and it's a good game, but underestimated by the journalism gamers... now the hypocrites of IGN and more of them praise the game :messenger_expressionless::messenger_unamused:.

There was a rare, yet similar phenomenon that happened with another title years ago.

That's one way to remember how it happened, but the archives tell kind of a different story...

Demon's Souls: 9.4

Dragon's Dogma: 7.5 (which, sure, isn't outright praise, but it is positive on the combat and mostly negative on things that even Itsuno says were haphazard.)

Maybe is the real prototype of Dragons Dogma 2

Naw, Deep Down was quite a different game, if you look at the actual demo gameplay. Different team, different engine, different setting/storyline, different mechanics, very different world-size (Deep Down would not have been open-world)... it is still unclear why Capcom felt the need to have both high fantasy franchises (and ultimately it did not bring out Deep Down; it also barely continued Dragon's Dogma, until now, so they didn't kill one because it competed with the other,) but assumptions that Deep Down and Dragon's Dogma were connected probably don't actually bear out.

(It's still unknown what connections Deep Down's engine Panta Rhei has to RE Engine, Capcom's ultimate replacement for MT Framework. It's guessed that Panta morphed into RE, but tech credits on RE games don't generally match up to prove that.)

Easy, Elden Ring reached even the casual audience. People are hungry for more fantasy adventuring. This should do much better than the first game.

i remember that everyone suddenly care about Dark Soul 2 at launch despite previously nobody seems to be care of both Demon Souls and Dark Souls before. similliar could happened with DD2. now with there is increase audience with open world action rpg, this might have better reception than expected.

Guess I gotta restart Dragon's Dogma.

I only got past the initial hydra and something about it didn't click with me right away although I really wanted it to.

Something about the game felt rough and unfinished.
you still at prologue section fo the game. after the hydra fight there is gonna be short escort quest then afterward is the 'real' game is actually started. aim to clear that section and reach the castle where you need to escort the quest. then afterward the world is opened and you can freely explore around. all the good stuff is started with there and it is where you can decide whether the game it is for you or not.

Now for the hard decision, do we actually make it a good game so it’s successful this time around, or do we make the same game to appease the vocal minority that pretend to like the first one?
I think Itsuno and the team will make a fun game like he always does and hopefully it grows even more with this title. Capcom did consider it a success back when the original launched.

The soundtrack was of note too - some of the tracks were hard rock/metal operatic with electric guitars.

Some of the animation work was delightful as well - climbing on a back of an ogre, the thing would try and shake you off - and would often end by falling backwards with you attached to its back. Then there's the straight up drop kick

or the pawn using their shields to catapult me into the air so I could slash at a flying griffin.

DD at the time was a delightful mix of Capcom gameplay, production values, and just the right amount of cheese done with a lot sincerity.

I consider the first one the best RPG on this planet with Demons Souls/Souls games.
I waited for the second one since I played the first one.So glad that part two is coming and it will be next gen only.I am absolutely sure this time it will sell millions in its first month. And there will be hopefully a part three or add ons in the future.
These games are Master works all you can’t go wrong with them :)

I would argue you don’t get to the true game until you “beat” the game and see the first batch of credits. And then the real game begins when the sky looks like shit, and then by beating that “post-game” do you actually get some closure to the plot. Everything comes together in the story through the post-game.

“People were really mad we did not announce a sequel?
How mad?
…Ok…
Quick let someone make a logo, we’ll announce it and start on the game somewhere next year probably..”

Oh god oh man I hope we get ourselves some CO OP this time around. First was such a blast and I can only imagine how fun it would be to swarm a Griffin with the squad xD

I am Become Bilbo Baggins
It has to be DD2. It's pretty much confirmed. I'll nosh off my own father if they don't announce DD2. That's how confident I am.

*Phew*

Anyway, happy it's finally been announced. I don't play too many games these days, but I'll be there day one for DD2. If they add an optional co-op mode then that'll be great, just as long as the game can still be played single player and offline. I don't want any of this always online shared world bollocks.

Loved Dragons Dogma and did everything when it launched, and would have loved a sequel sometime in the years following. This long after? Not sure if I even care anymore, hope everybody who has held out for this long gets the game that we deserved.

Wolves are afraid of fire!

Fuck yes. Bout damn time Capcom. Let’s see what y’all can do
In Capcom we Trust!Capcom games Are always amazing in graphics and gameplay so I wouldn’t worry about those. They make some of the best games in this industry.Every Genre they do they make amazing games. The best third party developer on this planet no one has this many iconic and amazing ips like them.

I don’t disagree, but let’s be honest, dragons dogma 1 had some missing pieces, especially when it came to a coherent open world. I’m absolutely fascinated if they can figure out how to make a thriving open world to go along with their truly a-tier gameplay.

What was missing was more towns and small settlements where you can interact or get new things to do .What I especially liked was when it was dark it was really dark like it should be you could only see a bit with torch.I hope they crank up the difficulty way more. And make a survival mode or hardcore mode. The pawn system to this day is absolutely amazing loved it so much.Your own pawn which you created and equipped and skilled goes to help others in difficult times and gets rewarded you too such a great game design. They could make it also coop because you play already in a party so they could make the game have an coop play but not interfering with the single player modus.

My brother. Absolutely. If they can keep these elements, add a better open world and story…. I mean…. Holy sheet.

Imagine announcing DD2 and not announcing a 60 fps patch for DD1 on console despite next gen consoles being available and knowing how shitty 30 fps is for a game like this. "We love our fans and are happy to announce DD2" but enjoy that 30 fps"

I played the original on my PS3 but never beat it. I enjoyed my time with it and I’ll definitely replay it before 2 releases. It felt special even during my initial play through.
