EA has announced it will be stopping all sales of its games and content, including virtual currency bundles, in Russia and its ally Belarus while Russia's invasion of the Ukraine continues.

"We continue to be shocked at the conflict that is unfolding in Ukraine," the publisher wrote in a statement on EA's website, "and join so many voices around the world in calling for peace and an end to the invasion. We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine."

“Our primary concern is the ongoing safety of those in the region, particularly colleagues and partners," it continued, "and we are seeking to understand how we might best help them further beyond our programs that are already in place."

“As a result, our games and content will no longer be available for purchase in our Russian region storefront on Origin or the EA app, including through in-game stores," it explained by way of clarification. "We are also working with our platform partners to remove our titles from their stores and stop the sale of new in-game content in the region."

"As this deeply troubling situation evolves, we're continually reviewing the steps we can take," EA concluded. "In addition to changes to our EA Sports FIFA and NHL games, we are actively evaluating other areas of our games and operations, and will update with any further actions."

Didn’t want to comment on another Russia thing, I almost wish the world would go to war with them, Ukraine will take a while to recover from these attacks.

All this political, we must show what an immaculate of a company we are is just plain vomit-inducing and hypocritical. Why do game companies need this fucking angst, and why do they bring these fucking issues into gaming space is something I cannot fathom. What's next? Ingame billboard advertisements showing real life news feed? Of course with some deliberately repulsive looking 18 year old brainwashed idiot teenage monkey superstar with an already mangled nose, a truncated rib and 150 dollar makeup, posing as an authentic figure who will tell you big truths about world peace?

Can't we just leave real life behind?

Why did you comment if you have nothing to add? That's why bringing real life politics into this space is problematic, because you can't add anything substantial to the discussion, yet feel the need to write some truism.

Companies pulling out of war zones, companies supporting the view point of the majority of the consumer base. Neither of these are new, neither are controversial. Yet you seem to think they are invading your gaming space and that the companies are full of angst. You're over dramatic, under aware and seems you've already checked out from reality.
"bringing real life politics into this space is problematic'....no, its news and its real life and its now. If you feel EA pulling out of a major country isn't 'gaming' news and belongs in off-topic...report it.

It's plain bs. What do gaming companies have to do with a war, why do they take sides and why do they sanction average ppl in a country because the leadership decided to raid a neighboring country? It's mind boggling, really. When this fn war stops... they will silently crawl back and resume operations. Money doesn't stink...

I'm sorry but I really can't engage in conversation with someone that doesn't get the basics. Read a book or two.
