The Game Evolution Presents: Evolution of Battlefield Games. This video showcases the History of the franchise from the classic PC games to Battlefield 2042 (2021)

0:06 Battlefield 1942 (2002)
0:28 Battlefield 1942: The Road to Rome (2003)
0:51 Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII (2003)
1:15 Battlefield Vietnam (2004)
1:35 Battlefield 2 (2005)
2:05 Battlefield 2: Modern Combat (2005)
2:29 Battlefield 2142 (2006)
2:49 Battlefield: Bad Company (2008)
3:12 Battlefield 1943 (2009)
3:37 Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (2010)
4:00 Battlefield 3 (2011)
4:22 Battlefield 4 (2013)
4:55 Battlefield Hardline (2015)
5:28 Battlefield 1 (2016)
5:47 Battlefield V (2018)
6:13 Battlefield 2042 (2021)

My first contact with the game I think was with the demo of Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII from a magazine CD. Then directly to battlefield 2: Modern Combat on the Xbox and the port of the 360. I had the chance to play 2142 thanks again to a multiplayer demo from a magazine, I have a blast playing controlling the small airship going from objective to another one being the driver.

After 2142 I have the rest and enjoyed well except the last two entries. Battlefield 4 is my favorite and I hope 2042 is similar to that one.

All the previous titles show gameplay and 2042 is the in engine cinematic trailer. Why even make the video lmao. Just wait until Sunday to get a true comparison.

Thats how they looked.

Not even remotely, i played bad company 2 the other day. his settings are absolute trash. It makes it look like complete shit. The same goes for his older games. i have pretty much all of them and 1942 never looked that bad.

Was BF2 the first game to feature self shadowing?

I remember seeing that in pics and vids and never having seen it before and being blown away.

After BC2 the series stopped evolving if you ask me. Even visually, BF3 was such a huuuge step up in that department the game still holds up really really well to this day, and that's a 10yo title, other than megascans and recently added RT the game hasn't visually improve that much.

Only single player shown in the videos with either bots or the very first minutes of the campaign with crappy quality settings.

And the latest game doesn't even have any gameplay footage yet.

Battlefield 2042 is bringing some of the biggest maps in Battlefield history. In this video, we take a look back at the 12 largest Battlefield locations of all time, like Dragon Valley from Battlefield 2, Bandar Desert from the Armored Kill DLC, and even the Halvoy battle royale map.

Battlefield has a rich variety of multiplayer maps from its humble beginnings in Battlefield 1942, all the way to the massive Firestorm battle royale map in Battlefield V. DICE senior designer Niklas Åstrand put out a chart on Twitter that listed every Battlefield map in existence ranked by their size. In this video, we’re breaking down the top 12 largest Battlefield maps of all time.

Surprisingly, one game stands out among the series and appears on the top 12 list more often than the others: Battlefield 2 comes roaring in with five maps, whereas games like Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 each only have one map, such as Bandar Desert, and Golmud Railway!

Battlefield is one of the most iconic FPS games of the past few decades. From the humble beginnings of 1942 to EA's upcoming Battlefield 2042, we break down the history of Battlefield and its legacy over the years.

Battlefield has released several games over the last two decades as one of the most recognizable franchises in the video game industry. With Battlefield 2042 just around the corner, now is the perfect time to take a look at the History of Battlefield. In this video, we'll start from the beginning with Battlefield 1942, and how it set such a significant foundation for future Battlefield games to build off of.

Battlefield has an emphasis on land, air, and sea combat, creating a series that relishes chaotic and exciting gameplay, eventually expanding upon the core Conquest mode with other ways for players to engage each other. Every Battlefield game is notable in its own way, but Bad Company 2, Battlefield 4, and Battlefield 1 are standouts for various reasons, whether it's a greater emphasis on campaign modes, or taking the Battlefield destruction capabilities with the Frostbite engines to an all-time high.

Battlefield 2042 is slated to release on October 22, 2021, on Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PS4, PS5, and PC. The game will increase the size of Battlefield matches to a massive 128 players, with customizable load-outs and the incorporation of brand new Specialists in place of character classes. We’ll have so much more to break down with Battlefield 2042 in the coming days, so stay tuned!

A full history of the Battlefield franchise. From Refractor Game's humble beginnings with "Codename Eagle", to DICE's upcoming "Battlefield 2042."

This documentary will be fully narrated with high quality footage freshly recorded from every game in the series, including all of the lesser known titles - along with a large cast of guest stars from the Battlefield community itself!

I am currently aiming for November 19th for the official release - but this is subject to change pending how much I'm able to get done in the next few weeks. This is a super busy time or me and I'm trying my best to edit this project.

Total runtime is unknown - but is expected to be as long, if not longer than my past two projects.

Welcome to Duty.

Fare thee well

Neophyte
Played since 1942, but got tired of things after Bad Company 2 tbh. I just need new things. I'm surprised how little others do, but to each their own.

Desert Combat mod for BF 1942 was the best..so many good memories of rage inducing CTF matches.

Jump in jet, fly to enemy flag base, eject from jet, parachute down to enemy airbase, grab flag, jump in enemy jet, take off....get shot down at end of runway by some camping fucker with an RPG...EVERY FUCKING TIME :messenger_beaming:
