Ex Girlfriend Situation

Poor guy sounds like he really has himself convinced, will watch with popcorn in hand. When someone wants to think and hope for the best there is no listening to what other people say regardless of how much sense they make

OK all, so here is an update...we're back together! Have spent the last 5 weekends with each other (and her son every other weekend). We have had a very long honest chat about what happened, her insecurities etc.

It's all going well so fingers crossed it continues that way 🤞🤗
You have a choice to make Peter. Do you constantly want to do the mess around with the possibility that you'll break up and reconnect in a cruel endless circle, or are you going to cut them losses and salvage what's left of your love life with somebody else?

So, what were the honest reasons she told you?

She's locked you down for cuffing season so she won't be alone during the festivities and through the new year, someone who'll buy gifts for both of them and her plus1 for any Christmas/New year parties.

You're a dog for Christmas not for life. She'll start all the shit again at the end of January, early Feb.

No matter how dumb , sour or even bad it may turn out in the future, it may turn out just as beautiful as you can possibly dream.
Im glad youre doing what you want to do for your happiness. Remind yourself of some of these advices though and dont get or act too wooped on her love.

Nothing to ever ragrets when youre following your heart.
I personally think the pillow is cute, good luck on everything Petey.

Huge fan of polish girls op, where you find them

After the EU opened, basically everywhere in a city in Europe.

I have massive respect for them. Used to even live back home and only fly over to collect government assitance.

Made it a shit-show to Irish people so a lot left.

Bare in mind a lot were builders etc. The girls followed. Hard working people and some of the best I've ever met. (Our government was shit, wasn't only the Polish but they'd brag about it and get caught).

Back in the day I knew a landlord who had learned never to rent to a Polish person, "You rent a 1 bed flat to a polish builder, next thing you know there's ten other Polish people living in it". It's true they came to the UK for the graft but all the money went back home where they lived a luxe life.

My father had a dude rig the electicity for a house of flats (Indonesian, not a Pole), went into the flat and another dude was starkers in the wardrobe. Wasn't even the tenant. He had the audacity to say "hello". Was properly sorted.

There have been massive stories here about scumbag landlords. Can't say I've met a bad Polish person really compared to that one dude was a builder and punched the door off his hinges as he forgot his keys after being in a pub. He was only banging the tenant (Polish woman, both were Polish). I lived beside that flat.

New door the next day as I went mental. Was the flat beside me. When I visited Poland I was a novelty in the town. Brilliant people if you're nice to them. Do need to shout though if damaging property, best plumber I ever met (and keep) is Polish. Polish people don't take any shit but respect you if you call them out when they're assholes.

The missus' Mother (at the time) had a fish shop. Was closing for Christmas eve there, some dude wandered in and I asked to serve him, I had little Polish. Waved across the counter and said "Fishy fishy?". The luck of disgust on his face was brilliant whilst they broke up laughing in the back.

He walked out. Mother didn't give a shit as they were closing.

I think her shop is gone now. She tried to expand, wasted her savings (and daughters) and the locals went to supermarkets instead as they grew bigger and had cheaper frozen fish. I feel terrible for her, was all she knew.

The Polish monthly retirement pension you'd nearly get on social welfare here per week. At least according to the gf at the time. Just enough to survive if you ate next to nothing. Her hobby was smoking, eating and watching dubbed Steven Seagal films, I wish I was joking.

Lol, this shit is so funny to read as a Pole living outside Poland. No, they didn't live luxury life. Most of the builders came in 2004 and a few years after, they earned way less than what they would have now but still more than in Poland so they didn't complain. Now they have been replaced by the people from Moldova and Romania so they went home, where the inflation is hitting 7%.

Also as a someone that is living like shit for the next few weeks because my apartment is getting renovated - paying extra is not a problem, my main fear is they fucking something up.

Make sure you check in as often as you can, you can stop a fuckup before it's gone too far that way. Also, lots of notes and diagrams helps the contractors as well as know they can contact you anytime.

Nope, once borders opened they made sweet bucks in European countries. Source: worked with them, they bragged about it. With a Polish girl 12 years and visited Poland many times. How much is your state-pension over there?

Not enough to live on, poverty levels. And watched on TV as your government moved towards red again. Literally sitting on a couch, in Poland, with the missus as her Mother cried. The missus had to explain to me what was happening.

Both had grown up with it, only my missus was younger and could speak English. Her Mothers tales were unbelievable.

It was a step backwards, much like Hungary.

And for the record I think Polish people are amazing. But the ones I worked with openly bragged about get Ryanair flights for cheap just to collect social welfare here and head home. Government had to step in to stop it, it was an easy scam that was used and you cannot deny it as it is well documented. I was unemployed at the time and had to visit the office once a week instead of once a month because of the scam from Eastern Europe. (Not only Poles but I mostly spoke to Poles).

Should be a list before and a snagg list before final payment for any grievences. That's how it works usually. Pay cash? even cheaper. They work quicker and are more keen to pay attention than sit around a kettle and eat breakfast rolls.

When Jimmy five Bellies was hanging out with Gazza and Chris Evans on their European benders they would pay for a return flight for him so he could go back, sign on and then return for the bender. He was talking about it in an interview, it's probably on Youtube somewhere.

Can't knock the hussle there. Surely a flight back to the UK would be more then he'd get. Just remember being shocked at the UK dole when I heard. When I was on it was about 200 in Ireland, think the UK was something like 60 but then you have housing benefit etc?

It's all the extra discounts and assistance you get. That's why it's the benefits trap, come off the benefits and you have to earn enough to pay full wack for it all and an entry level job is not going to cover that.

Ah getcha, I wasn't working in London long. Just what I was reading and thought our system was amazingly generous in comparison. Here you can get the dole, housing benefit and even speak to a welfare officer if stuck for more. Pretty sure they clamped down though once the recession hit but it goes up every budget with inflation.

Even have 'HOP', when I was letting flats people would ask me if I'd accept 'Hop'. Had no idea what they were on about as it was new. It's basically you get social welfare and the government pays most of your rent. Crazy stuff, the ceiling on rent due to a city was sky-high, got all sorts of weirdos calling to look at flats. You can't legally decline it either. I just kept a notebook and rang the one I wanted after seeing everyone. Queues of people looking for the place. (not mine).

Technical diagrams are done, the company owner is in the WhatsApp channel with other people (including the owners of the company that subcontracted him for our work), I am visiting every 2-3 days to check on things. All included we are looking at 40 000 - 50 000 € total spend, no way I am going to let them fuck it up.

That is not true, actually the people working right now are way more screwed since their retirement pension would be pennies, and they foolishly decided keeping the retirement age on the same level is such a great idea. It is hard to live on the pension, but that is because of socialism previous generation didn't think (or couldn't) how to save on their own for retirement - the prevailing argument was (and still is) that the government and others will take care of you.

Was a with a lass for years, first love. Practiced the days method, mother was studying to be homoepath.

So many damn scares, spent more on pregnancy tests than I would have on condoms. Yeah nice job predicting your dates and continually frightening the shit out of me.

I was with my ex-wife for 20 years and never used anything. Never got her pregnant until we wanted a child. She gave her first one away in an open adoption and than bailed on the kid and killed the second. I was careful as could be. I had to leave the state for a year and my kids grades have dropped being with her. She's all about spending on herself. I let my feeling bad for her get in the way of making wise decisions. I love you but can't be with you is BS. She's either looking for someone else or is banging someone else.

Christ that's horrible, sorry to hear that dude. Would be my worst nightmare.

As for my situation, I was 17 and she was the daughter of a family with self-help books and the mother was studying to be a homeopath. Even went to one with her (for her) that was meant to be the best. Can't remember what her ailment was. She wasn't banging anyone else, no time as she was still in school and about to graduate for college.

Banged the girlfriend in a field peak hayfever season afterwards, could barely see afterwards. Was beside the homeopaths house. Back to the homeopath practically blind. Gave me something and just had to endure the hours it took to get home.

I grew out of getting bad hayfever, still do but much milder, very little flowers where I live now as it's all concrete buildings. That though was like a God punishing me.

Thank you everyone, I'm well aware of cuffing season (that works both ways right?) and that I'm possibly setting myself up for a fail if she does it again.

However, I would have regretted not giving us another chance so am in it with my eyes open this time and more realistic expectations 🤗
