Interesting to see XSS being the Xbox of choice in contrast to the PS5 Digital which is not the PS5 of choice. Is this purely a supply issue?

The design of the series S is much better than, the series X. And its easy to carry it to another house, compared to the series X. I think that is the appeal of the series S.

Dude look at the software lmaoooooooo theres no other console of relevance in Japan besides the switch.
There's no contest in Japan for hardware and software sales.

Nintendo games are too strong in Japan.

Disappointing sales for smt 5, shows a series that’s not really growing. I could see this being the end of exclusive Nintendo smt mainline games… good riddance

Everytime i see japanese sales of games I realize I become more and more disconnected from their market. I see why developers like Kojima want to focus on the western markets because Japan is in a weird place gaming wise.

Can't be helped since Nintendo 1st party games are too strong in Japan and only mega awesome titles could be part of the best selling games.

Top 3 best selling 3rd party games in Japan
1. Monster Hunter Rise
2. Momotaro Densetsu
3. Minecraft(Switch)

I don't think the platform matters. These games have a core audience that don't change a whole lot.

Also Kojima's western focus game "Death stranding" only sold 5M on PS4, PS5, and PC.

Holy mother of God the ps5 numbers are bad.
Probably diverting units to the us and uk, Japan is lost, the rest of Europe is in the bag, so makes sense to focus units on the 2 markets where Xbox poses a threat. Gotta lock as many of the cod madden fifa gta players in Playstation ecosystem as possible
