Omega Force teams up once again with Nintendo to deliver a new Musou/Warriors take on a big Nintendo property. Following up from the fascinating but flawed Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, can the developer overcome the older game's performance problems? And how does image quality and gameplay stack up? Series veteran John Linneman has the full story.

Feels like the Nintendo koei games have been getting that Nintendo score bump. These are some of the worst performing games by koei and get higher scores than better games they’ve made.

Performance on this one isn't too bad though, at least for a handheld console. They say it stays above 30fps most of the time, it just needs a 30fps cap rather than being unlocked.
Still a big improvement over Age of Calamity which essentially runs at 25fps with drops.

Maybe the standard is just lower on switch but the other console players have been playing these warriors/musou style games at a locked 60fps for years now

Well yeah the standard on Switch is lower because it's a weaker handheld console. Games usually get reviewed within the context of hardware on which they release.
You also didn't see reviewers lowering the score of Bloodborne or God of War because "I'd have been 60 fps on PC"

That’s good news because it wasn’t the case in the demo, using big spells was choppy.

Looking forward to this one, recent musou spinoffs have all been fantastic.

It still won't feel that good because they left the framerate unlocked for some reason.
So it's constantly jumping between 30-37. It will feel better than drops below 30 but you'll still get that sense of inconsistency
