Forza Horizon 5 Next Gen performance targets revealed. RT only utilized in Forzavista

Now run Horizon 4 on Xbox One X in 60fps mode versus same resolution and framerate on PC at max settings and you'll see almost no difference in motion.

I didn't say it won't look close to what we have seen, my point is there is no point in saying the trailer is this or that in terms of resolution because they never stated that it was running on an XSX...

Moore explained: “We did two different modes in the game: cinematic mode which is a native 4K, which looks stunning, at 30 frames per second; and performance mode, so you can play a dynamic 4K at 60 frames per second. That is going to give you smoother animation is going to give you a little of that edge [in combat].”

They were targeting dynamic 4K60 but never made it.
I will be wrong but I have the big suspect he misinterpreting temporal injection solution to dynamic 4k. It uses a full 4k framebuffer filled with the 1440p resolution. Creative director are not new to confuse tech stuff.

It does really matter, should still look spectacular on consoles like previous versions.

He's the creative director of the game, and I'd imagine it's a dynamic 4k for both modes as there is no good reason to not be.
It's a reasonable take. Ratchet 4k mode is not entirely 4k either, but it locked majority of the time. I suspected if it dynamic 4k at 30fps, then it will be locked at 4k most the time. See, developer at sony also state ratchet 4k at 30fps, but it turn out to be somewhat dynamic, so don't take developers world regarding to resolution literally.

I watched it many times. I'm also a fan of FH4, but it's exact same graphics as FH4 (which is also much same as FH3), beside volumetric effects (in sand storm), which are very nice. Draw distance is further too, but I didn't expect pop-in. Maybe it's because XBONE is the base.
Pop-in should be resolved by launch. It's an engine streaming issue not a GPU limitation since this demo was likely running on a 3090. I posted the draw distance gif on the last page and there is zero pop-in in that gif and you can literally see for miles.

Xbox one does not have those trees and foliage on the mountains.

Your whole argument is based on nothing but assumption, I see no.point to it.
And your is not? Mine was based on logical and reasonable assumption, and your is not. Yea, i also see no point on this until the game come out and DF test it.

I wasn't the one who started the conversation about unknown variables, you were. I replied to you that there could be different variables at play that determine sacrifices that need to be made. You assume that those sacrifices have to be huge based on framerate and resolution, even though there are other variables that could be at play here. It is for this reason that you're making an irrelevant point and furthering a useless discussion that I see no point in.

Ok... let me explain again...

1- FAQ says 4K30
2- People doubt and say the trailer is 4K60
3- I say it doesn't matter what the trailers in terms of `resolution` and `framerate` together, because it isn't running on a Series X.

They confirmed later on Twitter that there's 4K60fps mode, for all we know it could have been Seies X footage running in that mode. I think it's PC footage, but the point you're trying to make is now irrelevant because they confirmed 4K60 for Series X.

4Kinda incoming.

At 30 FPS 4k won't be a problem. But for 60 FPS no way will be fixed 4k. 30 FPS wouldn't be there for a reason.

Did you do the same with GT7? Just curious, as you are way too invested in this, but won't bat an eye with the other game? Why is that? Is there any reason you constantly keep on trying to downplay this by any chance? You and K Kangx ? Let's all go check your post history and see if you did the same with GT7....hmmm..... Interesting...

I'm enjoying people who spent all of pre-launch bickering over specs, for 2 machines that are going to produce games with similar visuals, now bickering over visuals that are going to look similar. I see some people here who made a big deal out of RT and framerate are now suddenly okay with dismissing those concerns that they trumpeted not so long ago. The same will happen in PS5 threads. Some of us maintained from the start that games on both systems are going to look the same. It's really just splitting hairs when things are this close technically. It'll come down to artists, coder talent, and especially budget.

On topic, I'm a bit surprised that they won't have RT in regular gameplay, as you can control what objects are reflected, and how far the rays will shoot out into the world. Cars are inherently shiny, so I figured racing games would be prime candidates for RT reflections. It might be a matter of dev time, as this game wasn't shown at all prior to the show, and it's scheduled for this year. The XSX build might have started optimization rather late, and maybe RT will be part of a post-release update. They haven't announced it, but that could be a way of avoiding the mess that CDPR and 343i found themselves in with their premature claims.

The game looks great, but isn't quite what I was expecting on a technical level. I'm expecting 4k60 (upscaled is fine) with RT this gen, be it closed or open-course racers. Racers, FPS, and fighters are the 3 genres where I feel like 60fps is mandatory. 30 works fine for everything else, and I'd rather get the extra fidelity.

The press release where RT wasn't mentioned for gameplay also didn't state 4K60 and 1080p60 modes for X and S. I would wait for devs to confirm this and see how things develop closer to launch.

Do you know if GT7 is 4k @ 30 fps in quality mode, and possibly less than native 4K @ 60 fps in performance mode as well? Because if it is, Horizon 5 >>>>>>>>>>>> GT7 by a long shot in visuals, even comparing a closed circuit racer to an open world. If this is the case, the next Motorsport won't have anything to compete against in visuals. I mean, horizon 5 doesn't have any competition currently, and it's not a closed circuit racer either!

The creative director of the fucking game says it's 4k 60 I mean come the fuck on give the credit where credit is series x is a beast

I swear you xbox fans are delusional. Iam not even talking and downplay the game here. Go back to all the native games announcements from assassin creed, gears, godfall, crash 4, outriders, and so on. They all listed and announced at 4k 60fps and look how that turn out. And for GT7, I am confidence to say that it wil be dynamic 4k at 60fps. does it bother me, not one bit. Stop playing the victim and stop live in your delusional buble. I can guarantee you that this game is not native 4K at 60fps. Any of you xbox fans willing to ban bet on this subject matter, then iam all for it. Put up or shut up.

Why must we war? Can't we just enjoy great looking games. Who gives a fuck if it's native 4k 60 or if its DRS, or temporal injection etc. Are we acting like there isn't good looking games on both consoles. The power is so close on these consoles that there will be amazing games on all platforms.

Its been microsofts E3, can't we enjoy their awesome games. Truly breathtaking graphics in Fh5 and more than anything it will be a fucking blast to play.

What fucking sucks about forums is I'd put money that if all of us fans were in a real room together with Xboxes and ps5s set up and actually talking we would all get on like crazy...or a lot of us would haha.

Just wanna add that this game blew my fucking mind and this is a cross gen forza horizon coming out one year after the consoles launch. This gen is going to be insane.

First of all, I'm not an Xbox fan as you say. I never owned any Xbox past the Xbox 360, and only used it for the beginning of it's lifetime. That's when I moved over to PC. I swear your PlayStation games are delusional.

So why are you coming so hard at the game? If you have no reason or proof to believe otherwise? As well as no complaining on the games you mention? I mean anyone can go look through your post history, (I already did, so I can already tell where your preferences are, which is not a problem at all. But keep the same energy you have right now, and criticize your platform of choice, the same exact way.

It doesn't make sense that you are shitting up this thread, while also falsely labeling me. I'm a fan of the game, not the hardware. That's what completely separates you and me from each other.

But who said it's 100% native 4K? Seems to me like you're making up an invisible enemy so you can justify your agenda. Who even cares if it's native 4K? The fact that you call Xbox fans delusional obviously shows you're Sony gamer who has no interest in this game except come here and try to spread your FUD. I'm sure you were gloating about GT7 though because it's on the plastic box that you so very much adore. How very very sad.

Impossible to say at this time, and I didn't even mention GT7. My expectations are the same for the next NFS and, with any luck, a new Burnout game. PD is a talented team, so I would expect them to compete visually for the top step. As I said before, I don't think visual differences will come down to hardware, but rather talent+budget. PD isn't lacking in either area, so that should be fine. T10 as well. It'll just be more splitting hairs.

Quote me where I shit talk about this game and shitting this thread, not just throwing assumptions out here, please quote me. Stop playing the victim again. All my argument was this is not native 4k at 60 fps and going from 30 to 60 fps is a big step and there must be some sacrifice and I suspected it is the resolution. Please tell me how am I shitting up this when this thread are mostly dedicate for technical discussion. I did not one it downplay this game and nitpick in this thread. Shaking my head reading your respond.

Not pointing at you specifically but this entire thread is 14 pages of downplaying / nitpicking / concerns starting from the RT and now the frame rate, resolution, pop in, etc. You even have the occasional legally blind poster who thinks it looks the same as FH4.

It’s not playing the victim to point this out, in fact it shows how spectacular this game is.

Don is a PC gamer and it's pretty obvious if you've seen him in this forum. I myself am also a PC gamer who hasn't owned oab Xbox since 360. If you think those that like some of Microsoft's games are automatically Xbox gamers then you're dead wrong as those games are also on PC. I'm yet to see you make any solid point in this thread, so it's kinda funny to see you throw arout accusations.

Does RT even matter when people initially though it was photography?

RT is just one of ways to make graphic nice and realistic and not every game have to use RT for next gen graphic IMO.
Who? I honestly thought that the guy was forced to say it was photorealistic when he was presenting, not because there aren't enough "things", but the general look of the image is.. I'm not sure how to express it, there are clearly tons of details, but something is off.

That being said, the jungle and volcano look nice game wise, but this is not like a second Drive Club kind of jump.

Lmao my port history is majorly PC based. Whether it be about a game on PC, coming to PC, game engines running on PC, GPU's available on PC, etc. Go ahead, have a read, since you obviously haven't.

You didn't criticize R&C about having a quality or performance mode. Or any other games for that matter. Why not be critical to everything or not critical at all? If anything you praise other games, yet constantly are going against what the devs themselves said. I just don't understand why there's no consistency in your posts. Either give a fuck about ALL games that support quality and performance modes, or STFU, sit back and enjoy the games.

It's pretty simple honestly. I came in this thread to read about the game, not some guy making ridiculous, biased claims, and not having a single ounce of factual knowledge or evidence to back up these nefarious claims.

There's no difference in quality and performance modes compared to any other game. Stop hammering down on this one game, if you won't do the same for the games you keep praising for having the same quality and performance modes, that just so happen to run much lower in resolution than this game. Fucking ironic.

Rich coming from you. Regarding to where he stance, The post history show it not you who come out and tell me what it is. Oh look, the one without solid reasonable logic accusing me not having a solid point.
Regarding to 100 percent native 4k , are we moving the goal post? unbelievable, Of course it's not native 4k when the developer state 4k 60fps and my argument all about not native 4k but dynamic. So In the end you are agreeing with me? Welp, iam outa here.

According to other users, the Forza series has never used dynamic resolution. That's only available on PC if I'm not mistaken. Haven't owned an Xbox like I said earlier, so I can't test. But others are confirming this.

If you have no information or any evidence to say otherwise, why speak as if your personal belief is for fact, that it's dynamic. Why not bring any proof? Like others have also said, lowering shadow quality, LOD's, view distance, etc, could yield native 4k. You can do the same on PC. As matter a fact, most games don't support variable/dynamic resolution, until very recently on PC.

It's completely fine to speculate, but within reason. Your posts.... Not so much.

If you take rain out of equation then Forza Motorsport 5 that came out a year before Driveclub not only looked better but also ran at double the framerate. Driveclub was mainly hyped for how good the game looked in the rain.

Regarding to ratchet and clank, what is there for me to talk about technically. We know there is a ray tracing mode at 4k 30, performance mode and rt performance mode, but forza list the game at 4k 30 and a performance and the director later come out and states the game is 4k 60 fps, so people speculate and I joined this thread and back up the argument this is not the case.
As for other thing you are interested in, they are irrelevant to me when I seen enough of your post history.

According to other users, the Forza series has never used dynamic resolution.

You can do some kind of reconstruction without doing DRS. In a racing game like FH, maybe they would rather use set parameters so they can micromanage everything and avoid any kind of stutters. So far all we have is 4k/60 and 4k/30. That and we have some amazing in-game footage. I'm happy with that. LOL

Demon souls was listed for releasing on PC. Didn't see you defend the prior speculation once it was cleared up later on. That's what I mean by inconsistency. There's a hard on to hate on Forza. You made your speculation, cool. But now you are constantly trying to put your made up speculation, as a fact, even going so far to doubling, and tripling down on it.

The devs have cleared up the resolution and framerate, so why the fuck are you still trying to downplay the game. Several of us are asking you this now. We're not the problem in this thread, YOU are.

So shit, so saying 4k 60 is not native anymore. That new to me. The same as saying 1440p or 1080p is not native anymore. Got it. I can see you are the one who making things up and creating fake narative. What am I being expose for? Infact your are the one who being expose here. Lol when saying 4k 60fps is not 100 percent native. We are creating a new technical term here.. This is delusional. Call in the mods and let them handle this and she who has a reasonable argument and who is the one the throwing hot air.

Dude all the devs refer to dynamic 4K as 4K so all I can only go from what they say. So people are now supposed to know whether 4K devs said is 4K native or not when nobody played the game? What kinda stupidity is this? And you calling people delusional? Lol, nice projection. For your information, I never once said "native 4K" so please stop spreading lies.
