GameStop Is Building Its Own Crypto Token GME and NFT Marketplace

GameStop now has an official online domain for its own NFT marketplace, though we don’t have a clue on when it’s going to be fully launched.

Currently, GameStop is inviting all creators to join its NFT marketplace, but there is no official day or date on when we can expect a full announcement of this new project.

GameStop seems to create its own crypto token as well. If you copy the token address on GameStop’s NFT Marketplace and search it online, you will soon realize that it belongs to a token called GME on the Etherium network.

If GameStop only allows users to buy or sell NFTs with its dedicated currency, it could bring huge revenue to the retailer in the future, when NFTs are well-grown and accepted as a part of the gaming industry.

So? Except from some greedy companies, nobody wants NFTs. Understandable as gamers got milked in every meaning over the past years.

NFTs most important base is trust and no matter if EA, Ubisoft, Activision, 2K, Gamestop or the others. Most of them all fucked up with their services. There is no way sane people will accept NFTs in near future.

There you have your result for handling over gaming strategy to the marketing departments. Go and fuck yourself. Keep abusing gamers wallets with bad DLCs and microtransactions while planning the next step?

Take a look on twitter, reddit or any other platform. Ask your customers your bloody idiots and learn proper product development and services.

Lets talk about NFTs when they are in benefit of costumers AND companies. So, never. Cheers.

The North American retailer will partner with an Australian blockchain startup called Immutable, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The two companies will also create a fund of up to $100 million, which will be paid out as grants to developers who want to create NFTs that could be used in their games and sold on the GameStop NFT marketplace.

The fund will be created using Immutable’s cryptocurrency, IMX, and Immutable will pay GameStop up to $150 million worth of IMX if the marketplace hits certain transaction milestones.

GameStop has already set up an NFT website, which at the moment shows nothing more than an animation which says: “Power to the players. Power to the creators. Power to the collectors.”

No information is given on exactly what this ‘power’ entails.
