So then there is an agreement for console exclusivity? If so then I lower my conspiracy level to a 6 on the shenannigans scale.
China.People here are talking about waifus and husbandos but the game is surprisingly tame in the fanservice aspect.
This except it was more like 1 or 2 hours for me.Got bored after 5 hours tbh.
GI is no different to any other F2P game: it gets most of its money from WHALES, not from "poor exploited addicts who spend 5$ per month".
Youre saying this as if censorship was a good thing. In the Last of Us 1 Dlc there was an underage lesbian kiss.
In GI there's absolutely no sex related stuff. It's a heavily censored game, basically the most PC animu game out there.
Which game doesn't (including BotW)? Also... Awful to play? That's a shame. A game that steals so much from other games (most visibly BotW of course) but completely misses the point and is awful to play.
But the kids are having fun I guess.
I don't understand how grown ass adult men like you seem to think that the only thing people are allowed to like is grumpy and angry dudebros and sad dad simulators.I don't understand how grown ass adult men play this and get super duper excited about throwing $$$ at some Chinese company to get the next pre pubescent looking anime girl to play... granted the game looks top tier but at the end of the day you're playing a fucking teen girl ffs, i downloaded it for the kids thinking they'd like it and the first 5mins of listening to that awful fucking voice put me in the next room, 10mins later i come back and they're back to Roblox
Well this is either part of my conspiracy against the west. OR simply Mihoyo holding out for money payout to put it on a system. There's no evidence of that. The game has in fact been announced for the Switch.
No.If you are desperate and have the money, you can brute force your way to getting everything in the game, but it is not the way meant to be played
I mean, why are we even discussing this? Especially considering this is a gaming enthusiast forum. But you can't simply believe the word "free" here is not a tool to make people spend money. Its a strategy companies do to make their consumers imput cash on them, either because of waifus, contribution, meta, fun or weapons. Remember, first and foremost its a gatcha. No matter what people said, nothing is garented, saving resources is no garanted and even pity system is not garanted because it doesn't give you what you want. If this game wasn't free, people wouldn't spend a dime on it. GI simply mastered the tatics of a GaS.
MiHoYo management voluntary joined CCP
Friends with tits?
hopefullyWell with that information released, I assume we'll be seeing more anime-tiddie gotcha games from bigger studios.
Look at the sales spikes. Everything In between is our subscriptions. That's nowhere enough to make GI as big as it is.
I'm saying that censorship is a thing in China and that GI is the most PC gacha game out there.Youre saying this as if censorship was a good thing.
What, you mean they were held at gunpoint? Tortured?
Word.Wonderful game to play 20 or less minutes per day
Same problem as with GI: there's no good enough alternative. Monopolies tend to rake in cash. How the hell is GTAV still making that kind of money xD.
You absolutely can.Can you really enjoy and advance on the game without spending any money?
You're never gonna get your Diluc. Mwuahahah. Those companies have batalions of psychologists bent on designing the best way to
Agreed.I play games for the fantasy and escapism, I'd rather play something that makes me feel good and is bright and colorful than a misery simulator.
I mean, why are we even discussing this? Especially considering this is a gaming enthusiast forum.
Those companies have batalions of psychologists bent on designing the best way to take advantage of people, their weakness and exploit their subconscious.
Nothing was officially disclosed, but there's a reason why Genshin keeps getting PS exclusive content which works fully only on PS platforms. So then there is an agreement for console exclusivity? If so then I lower my conspiracy level to a 6 on the shenannigans scale.

IIRC besides Sony only Google had in-game GI collab. A couple of ugly as sin furniture items haha.
Also, KFC cosmetic wings...
You underestimate the power of Waifus. People go crazy over these sexy looking characters and spend money on them coz they cant them in real life nlol I dont understand why people would spend money in a free to play game. but then again, i dont understand why people will give $12 billion a year to MGM grand.
That's a shame. A game that steals so much from other games (most visibly BotW of course) but completely misses the point and is awful to play.

And BOTW isnt stealing ideas from other games?
I mean most games take ideas from other games
It's inspired by other games, sure, but no, it doesn't simply copy things the way Genshin Impact does. It's impossible not to see this if you have played both games.
So Genshin is stealing while BOTW is inspired by other games? Gotcha.
I dont understand your logic here. So Genshin is a copy paste of BOTW but you still didnt like it? In other words it should basically be the same type of game?
Granted i’ve only played BOTW twice. Never tried Genshin, only seen some gameplay.
And this here people is the problem, if you read this you would think "oh hey its not so bad"
Except two things stand out, the guy saying you can play for peanuts later admits that they consistently throw money on it, and that it does not "push" you towards the cash shop despite the game having the highest earnings of any title this year.
Yeah see how these do not add up? And this is the issue with addicts they can't see it and say "oh it's not so bad its just money I had lying about anyway" is no one seeing the similarities with actual real world gamblers here?
Remember this is for a title with "no endgame" which means the only value this game provides you with is the dopamine rush when anouther hard to get character or weapon (all in lootboxes naturally) slide into place. This is by design, if you had things worth doing that are enjoyable and rewarding by just playing the game, that's money away from the cash shop, the design requires them to limit the possible enjoyment at the endgame otherwise people won't pay, its a balancing act but this game seems to have nailed it.
I am not saying there is not a great game hidden under there somewhere, but what I am saying is that the game is designed not to be great on purpose to get you to spend, and as the stats show its working. People saying "they don't push you" are stating this against the actual design documentation that this game was built on... that's how effective it is, the company does not have to defend it, the addicts do that for them.
So Genshin is stealing while BOTW is inspired by other games? Gotcha.
Christ were we ever this youngI don't got much going for me in life, but at least I ain't a degenerate who spends actual money in Genshin Impact.
So Genshin is stealing while BOTW is inspired by other games? Gotcha.
and we all know why
Yes it's amazing, been playing it since 2 months and it's quite refreshing to play a fun game, the character design are awesome and characters are all interesting with different persona and variety, fun game and cool world, of course it's not perfect in every area but overall super fun and it's quiet refreshing to have a F2P ongoing game that isn't about battle royle panpanboumboum and cie like the 15236542178 other games in the market.I'd say it's earned it, even if it's stingy. I've been playing it since launch. I'm a very light spender on it, maybe $5-10 a month.
It's a fun game. It's huge. There's lots to do. Lots of fresh content on rotation. I play it daily and enjoy the routine, building new characters and trying new comps. There are lots of metas that you can ignore or dive into. It's got a very robust housing system if that's your thing. It has multiplayer you can safely ignore. A lot of the stories and quests are actually pretty interesting. The locations and music are crafted with care and visually pleasing. Some parts of the game you can just park and enjoy how pretty it is. It's like BotW except you can hot-swap between different characters, and your weapons don't break.
I will say as far as a gatcha game, it's not generous at all and the best way to play is just slowly build up currency to roll for the characters you want. There's very little ground between light spender and whale.
Amazing how his Japanese voice is actually a guy.and we all know why
it is? I thought it's a woman voicing him tbh...Amazing how his Japanese voice is actually a guy.
This sounds like AC games , specifically the 3 new ones, specially Odyssey...you can buy on the store supplies to upgrade stuff or you can farm for hours them...Well, I play it regularly and the money fallacy is one that all comes up when people talk about it without any idea of the game. You don't have to spend money on the game to get anything. It is a dichotomy of time commitment vs money. Content is free. New regions? Free. Story quests and character-focused stories (Even for the ones you don't have) are free. There is always a steady flow of content every 6 weeks with each big patch, then there are events and other content between this time frame.
The only but, and a big one at that, with the game, is if only you are a collector type of gamer with OCD about getting everything. You won't get everything unless you pay some bucks because you can't get enough in-game currency to get all the items in the game in a timely manner... or just be lucky with the gacha system (you won't for long). It is by design, if you want everything you buy currency. However, you aren't forced to get every character and weapon in the game because most things in the game are viable, even the beginning characters. What most players do to get what they want is wait and gather enough currency by playing for free to get what you want because the content is always in rotation, so things you might have missed when you didn't have enough currency to guarantee them will come back at a later date. That is the most optimal way to play the game. If you are desperate and have the money, you can brute force your way to getting everything in the game, but it is not the way meant to be played unless you have the money to spare.
I don't know where people got the idea you can't play the game optimally without spending on it. Gacha is an insidious gaming model to push people into spending to get what they want in the game by abusing of FOMO like most live services games nowadays, but you can easily play the game without spending a single penny.
I think in the English dub he is voiced a girlit is? I thought it's a woman voicing him tbh...
I think in the English dub he is voiced a girl
Ayumu Murase is special. Iruma, Hinata, Venti......and Akira.
I mean, truthfully, he definitely gets typecast into those characters now.the dude found his calling! voicing traps... he must be thrilled by the fact that this trope is so popular, a lot of potential work
That just proves most gamers are fucking idiots.
Yes. You get free characters during the story or as rewards from some events. You can clean all game content just with the free characters. Overtime, as you save primogems (the premium currency to pull on the gacha) you will eventually start getting top tier characters using the gems u saved without need of paying money. Just need to be smart and not waste the primogems in shit, and save them only for character banners to be able to pull the character u like. Can you really enjoy and advance on the game without spending any money? Or at some point you are forced to buy stuff in order to.advance on story/plot.
and we all know why
Gaffer when meta critics agrees ith them : "yes, see? My taste is good because journalists agrees"
Gaffer when a game they don't like has insane amount of success "That just proves most gamers are fucking idiots."
