No, but neither can the PS5, or at least last time I checked it used checkerboarding.

My point is, if you think a game has to run at native 4K/60fps to not be considered demanding, then I guess almost every game is.
Lmfao! The PS5 runs it in backward compatibility. So what's your point? If the game was made ground up using PS5 hardware I'm sure it could do far better. It's no point in comparing BC games because the PS5 isn't even being used in any meaningful way.

So Where's your evidence to prove this theory? What game have you got that was built ground up for the PS5 and which is a PS4 game for PC?
Any PS5 game built from the ground up (ala Demon Souls, R&C, Returnal, etc..) will be outperformed by a PC port when it comes out. That's your proof. PC just has more bandwidth. I don't know why I have to even say this when the science is right there in front of you. Just take a look at all the next-gen title games that have come out so far and see all the missing features, lower resolutions, upscaling, etc.. it's all there.

No because you didn't say that. You said a PC will run a PS4 game better than a PS5 game. There is no PS4 game that has been built ground up for the PS5. This reminds of Deja Vu. Like the disappearing Fur............
You love to twist what you originally said. The only thing you have stated is the god damn obvious. I mean how stupid would any GPU maker be if their card is costing £400 msrp yet it can't outperform a console costing £400?
You claim to have all these credentials yet haven't proven jack and shit.... but state the obvious......... No one here is claiming PS5 is more powerful than PC gpu's costing hundreds of pounds.....

I would be disappointed if my almost 2k 3080Ti can't perform better than my $500 ps5..... Regardless the game looks stunning on all platforms.

You are proposing a silly comparison that will never happen. Every single PS4 game that plays on a PS5 plays in BC mode, so why would I ever say such. What I'm saying is that the PS5, regardless of which scenario, will never outperform a PC because it has low bandwidth. Period. No need to even reply argue about that statement because it'll always be true. And only you guys care when people regurgitate it but it's perfectly OK for people to every now and then brag about their "piece of plastic" just like you guys do on a daily basis. So stop the crying "duh.. that's obvious" speak.

This reminds of Deja Vu. Like the disappearing Fur............
That's what YOU want to make it be. I'm not arguing that stupid shit anymore. I cleared up what I said and yet, you still want to act like I said there is no fur. That's on YOU. Anyone with a brain and can read knows exactly what went down in that other thread.

No one here is claiming PS5 is more powerful than PC gpu's costing hundreds of pounds.....
Then STFU about the PS5 and laughing (like your friends do) when people mention PC performance in the game. You have absolutely 0 to say when people are talking about PC performance because it's one thing to assume with subpar unexpected performance - an unoptimized port that will get fixed.

I wonder if it's going to do better than Monster hunter rise. Both games releasing on the same week, both delayed console ports.

God of war must do better right? It's the best game ever according to playstation fans.

It got some nice upgrades shadows, SSR, better draw distance,... and that 4k makes kratos look like Kratos in GOW:Ragnarok

The game was first made with consoles in mind. Pc was an afterthought, and that shows in there's almost no difference between the textures on pc and ps

MH world was one of the most successful games on steam when it released, not to mention its multiplayer. I'd say MH Rise will do better honestly.

Pretty sure Rise will be more popular, World done very well in the pc space. I'm sure someone will post the steam stats page the day both are out ;)

Sure. But some PC ports are so bad that you can have a better overall experience on console.

Multiplayer games always perform better on PC than single player games. God of War is one of the best games ever, imo, and how it performs on Steam doesn't change that.

Only temporarily. The only example of this with the PS is HZD and that was fixed.
Horizon still has quite some issues, audio missing and cutscene syncing that the PS4 version doesn’t run into I’ve noticed on the pc version still and I tried it in December.
All these pc features nonsense I’m hearing are stupid, the ps5 can handle a quality mode with better lod & shadows like the pc version of a PS4 game, probably at 4k 30,1800p-1440p 60 and 1440-1080p 120, death stranding on ps5 already showed this, this it’s comparable to a high end pc version . No one’s saying it will run at 4k 120 with dlss.
Truth is you were lying over rachets fur, said horizon zero dawn on pc would look better than forbidden west on ps5.
You have and no one here has the slightest idea what a ps5 is really capable off or what it’s pc equivalent is with how varied console & pc ports performance has been, and this is with console apis still in their infancy, covid and being a year into the consoles lifecycle.

But only have the retarded gunplay on dual sticks with aim assist and not glorious native mouse+kb gunplay. So HZD since day 1 is a better experience on pc.

MH Rise has already taken top spot over God of War in Steam Global Top Sellers. Makes sense though as you can play it today.

Oh no, you're still here doing the pcmr shit. I remember you from around launch doing the same crap. I'm surprised you're still here.

Who the hell plays a 3rd person action adventure rpg on a m/k esp with how busted the pc port of horizon was at launch? I played horizon on a dualsense with on my gaming laptop, the way it was designed to be played.

This is correct. Bc the Ps 5 only emulates the Pro but can only clock as high as the pro every gained fps is just gcn to rdna 2. Ipc improvemment which is massive but its only at 1200mhz instead of 2.2 ghz

Yup. Need more GPU power even for a last gen title.
More shadows is actually a pretty big deal. Anything that is upgraded with the lighting/shading will always be a big deal. Resolution and FPS would be minor IMO. - as it's just brute forcing the rendering approximation to a higher order.

The simple fact that shadow maps couldn't be rendered on last gen hardware tells us how much they could have gone with a more powerful SKU. Rendering shadows is not minor at all. It's one of the most expensive features in rendering.
I'm shocked that he's still here tbh.
You are missing the point. The PS5 doesn't have enough GPU power to brute force the game at 4k resolution with all the backbuffers being raised as well. While it's a PS4 game, it still holds up to most games today. Demon Souls and Ratchet don't look a generation ahead of GoW at all. Going by your pro-PS5 logic, you should frown on GoW2, Spiderman Miles, and HFW since they are cross-gen games (i.e. PS4 games at the core).
Yea, he's got the silly notion that a PS5 game will outperform a PS4 game on PC... it never will.
My fuck, 5 post spam in a row.

Slow down and use multi-quote, trigglypuff.

I have not run into any issues with PC version of HZD. It is completely a superior version of the PS4 as I can play the game at 4k > 90FPS along with the added collision detection of foliage (which is only going to be available on the PS5 version of HFW) and larger LOD.
You are still trying to make a PS5 equivalent to a PC (highend even). We've seen several multiplatform games that have come out already that prove a PS5 is not comparable to a high-end PC at all.

No one’s saying it will run at 4k 120 with dlss.
OK.

Truth is you were lying over rachets fur,
Lying over Ratchets fur?? Are we into this again teenager?

No need to even "imagine". Just compare TFLOPS with the GPUs and you'll find your answer. PS5 is equivalent to 2080-class cards. NOT high-end 3000x cards. Get over it.

What about better visuals or, even more important, a stable 60fps.

Lots of people are double dipping on PC for those reasons.

Compared to ps4? Sure, but PS5 is a very stable 60 fps

I am not a frame rate stickler though. I am perfectly happy playing 30fps if it suits the game, and don’t think it magically makes the game so much better looking going to 60

Yeah sure, but you mentioned those who played on PS4, not PS5. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

And dude, this is an action game, of course it'll be better at 60fps.

I am kinda shocked how bad it feels at 30fps on ps5.
Lol this was the game I was SURE, would still feel good in 30fps since it's this slow movement. But 30fps feels like crap now on ps5 when you have a choice of 60.
I am sure I would get used to it but man

It’s slow action…like many fromsoft games

30fps isn’t a big deal to me. PS4 has a higher frame rate mode too

I remember playing it on my Pro with the option of unlocking the framerate, wasn't perfect but to me it felt way better than the locked 30fps option.

Man am I glad they released this on PC and gave a nice 4k/60fps patch for the PS5 too, game deserved it.

Agree to disagree then. :)

I can stand 30fps on slower games, like turnbased stuff, but not in anything action oriented.

Yea, framerate makes a big difference in the overall feel for the controls and what's being seen on the screen. It's a lot more fluid.
